What about double/triple pay? Have you seen the figures? Private sector pay on average 5% towards their pension. Public sector pay 3.5% and their pensions are greater than the private sector. Who are you lot kidding?Random, your comments are just plain wrong.
We had pay freeze too, on top of pay scale freeze too.
We don't get subsidies you talk of. We just get paid less.
Holiday reflects that we work nights evenings weekends bankholidays (I havnt spent xmas with family in 6 years) nor was I off for the royal wedding. -
Lol. Who do you get your information from?
The maximum unsocial hours increase we get is 1.5
Which is hardly triple pay as I'm sure you can work out.
Sure, our pension is better. But we work for it. Next time you have a dying guy spatter blood in your face you can ask for a better pension too -

When I did retail back in the day double/triple pay existed. Ok so fine, time and half. Ur not working for free. It's all moaning and whining. Go get a private sector job then and just get on with it like the rest of us.Lol. Who do you get your information from?

And not have the nhs, or teachers?
Some of us are obviously more socially responsible than you...
However what you say, is what will happen if the one decent part of the job, the pension, is destroyed.
Then we as a country will be up shit creek. -

Socially responsible? I'm self employeed. I can pretty much guarantee I not only work harder and longer than you but I pay more in taxes with no public sector pension to work towards. So I think you stand corrected on that matter my friend. And not have the nhs, or teachers?

Unless you are self employed teaching children or saving peoples lives. Uncorrected I shall stand.
I did 70 hours last week. At night.
Oh and Peter stringfellow is self employed and probably pays more tax than you, so those are not criteria for social responsibility -

He is also a Multi-millionaire who through loopholes pays a lot less in tax than he should. Not a valid comparison. I'm talking about small uk business owners. Maybe you need to adjust your comparison scale for debate and come bak with some validity.Unless you are self employed teaching children or saving peoples lives. Uncorrected I shall stand.

Ok. My mate dave.
Nope.?
On matters of small businessmen small enough for comparison is too small for you to know...
Size Comparison isn't the point. It's the specifics of tax paying and business ownership that can't be used as proof of social responsibility. Not size of aforesaid. -

Of course it does. What do you know my of social responsibility as a small business owner? Lol. Zilch.Ok. My mate dave.

No, it really doesn't.
A pimp running a brothel is a small business owner.
A guy who goes around selling cleaning products is a small business owner.
Neither show specific social responsibility simply due to the fact they run a small business.
And neither do you. For all I know you are ghandi and Jesus rolled into one with sprinkles on top. But the fact you own a small business is still not proof of social responsibility. -

Your going on about "social responsibility". What exactly does that involve? And what makes you think you are that? No, it really doesn't.

If you are not capable of working that out yourself there really is no point in discussing the issue with you

Who are you lot kidding?Vadan. Get your facts right. Fire fighters pay 11% of their gross salary into the firefighters pension scheme which is the highest in th UK.
Would you want to get your sorry ass rescued from a burning house by a 65 year old female firefighter, or have a retirement age that reflects the ability to do the job.
Stop believing everything your hear on Rupert Murdoch's SKY news channel. -
🙎 I'm so sick of the British public. Striking over 20 30 40 100k+ jobs, this ain't a dig at public sector workers as such. I for one know how lucky I am to work in the UK. Try working 12 hour days in a sweat shop for >£30 a week. We don't know were born.
-
However cuts should be made in other areas first mainly the welfare budget, but the uk needs to get slapped back about 10 years.
-
Mr nice guy, you need to get your facts right. Under NFPS it's 8.5% contribution and the retirement age is 60 but they can deferr it to 55. The top end salary is also in the region of £55k. In addition, it is managed separately to the public sector pension scheme.
Slugboy. Come debate when you have factual explanations and not wonderland opinions. 👍

And here's something I didn't even know. The scheme not only covers I'll-health pension but a lump some payout under death-pension. Of course they're gonna pay more than the average. Guys don't make the debate personal.
Fact is there won't be a shortage of teachers because there is a lot more teachers now than teaching jobs, there has been a big push for them get trained up with attractive scheme of no costs unlike other degrees.
I can't argue with you Slugboy about hospital staff, they do appear to get better holiday and sick pay then some private sector jobs and the pay doesn't seem too bad, but what can you compare it to in the private sector? Then of course the pay doesn't seem quite so good when you have to work weekends and nights, but it's my guess that a lot of staff are now from abroad, which tells you two things, not enough people in this country are getting trained for the jobs (for whatever reason) and there are jobs available. -
And Vadan there should be a distinction between a small business owner against large corporations, and I'm pretty sure there are some, but I'm no expert on the tax system.
But certianly there used to be a strong push for people to run their own businesses and now the encouragement with bank lending and tax rules it seems harder and harder. -
Did you know that in the olden days you was taxed on how many windows your house had?
And now there is a way that is being exploited... Theres a loophole in everything...even speed camers and clamping(if you wish too know them pm me) but the loophole in tax means your tax avoiding which isnt illegal. And only one percent of the uk make just over 100k a year :/ but did you know 90% of those 1% tax avoid?
And also did you know that police officers have to do half an hour of there one hour overtime free for the queen? -

Deleted to make room.
The fact that hospitals have to import staff should tell you that even with our 'flipping amazing job conditions' as described by the government and the gutter press. Not enough people in this country are willing to do the jobs. Odd that, with 2 million unemployed, you'd think they'd kill each other for such amazing jobs....
Maybe, just maybe they are really difficult (and now very obviously unappreciated )jobs that people in this country would rather stay unemployed than do.... -
You think your the only person trained too save people lives?
Im a legal first aider (:, paramedics and doctors are not the only people that save lives... Get a fucking grip and get your head out of your ass. You think your better because your type of job has its own college? Grow up mate a job is a job. If you enjoy being a paramedic or doctor its your choice too do it and its tere choice to be teachers or whatever fgs. Have you ever fought about the soldiers out there protecting you? Or the fact that the nhs had too be taught a few things from frontline doctora who dont have the same equipment?! -

Oh. And I also train military healthcare staff. As much as they want the public to think otherwise, it's mainly civilians in the nhs training the military drs/nurses/odps.
So wind your neck in -
