That's not working. You may want to think about seeking professional help again. Scary enough to deal with this WITH the help of others. I would imagine it's probably debilitating without help though. I wish you the best. Get help.Killer Khalsa wrote:

I was on a diet I made. Working out constantly. Mental discipline. Worked fairly well though not perfectly for a while. Part of it's probably I haven't been religiously doing those. But even when I do them it's become steadily worse over the last yearBelial wrote:

Because you need to be on lithium, valproate or ethosuxomide or something else...dont run away from Tx because of side effects.
Having a manic episode is serious business. Working out and changing your diet will do nothing -
Maybe it's this game. Theres an entire world outside of this one. Go explore it.

Belial, my heart goes out to you.
Accolades to you for your awareness of the problem and sharing with us.
KK is actually giving you good feedback. Unless a MD has determined you have drug-resistant BP disorder, you should resume medications.
Thinking you can tackle something this big on your own is actually a classic symptom of mania.
Don't let this disorder control you.
Good luck to you my friend.

Belial,
In addition to the meds recommended above, try acupuncture. My wife is a psychiatrist and is now learning medical acupuncture. It is scientific and it works. One may need 7 - 8 treatments for the full effect. Something to try while you think about going back to the docs. Not saying it replaces meds, just that it can help. -

Tx is necessary. Im an MD so im not giving u bs advice. See a psychiatrist ASAP before u r found wandering the streets and r admitted to a psych ward

Bad life restricting side effects aren't for me.

Belial,
I am your friend. When I started playing TW, you and a couple of other players helped me understand the game. You gave your time and counsel. For that I am grateful. I just wanted you to know.
👊❕👍I am Belial's friend👊❕👍

I'm not very familiar with BP. What are the side effects of the meds?

Don't be so sure of that. It's a disease. You'd be shocked at the direction it can take you in. You yourself have said it is getting increasingly more difficult for you to control.Killer Khalsa wrote:

You don't like the "life restricting" effects of lithium? Try the life restricting effects of the psych ward.
Making the decision for yourself is MUCH better than having it made for you.

I think I can retain some. Ability to fight it always. What suffers is my friendships and relationships.
-
Belial,
I can understand where you're coming from, but stopping the Meds isn't the answer. I am on medication to help regulate my heart rate and rhythm. A side effect is that I can no longer work out, get my heart rate up, etc. Essentially, I have put everything I really enjoy in life on hold. I get depressed about it from time to time, but I know that to go off the Meds would mean some serious consequences. It sounds like going off your Meds has serious consequences as well. Since your judgement is somewhat impaired due to your condition, ask friends and family which "you" that they prefer and is the better person and go that route. Being tied to Meds really sucks ass, but it's better than the alternative.
