For the 2010 fiscal year, the president's base budget of the Department of Defense rose to $533.8 billion. Adding spending on "overseas contingency operations" brings the sum to $663.8 billion.[1][2]
When the budget was signed into law on October 28, 2009, the final size of the Department of Defense's budget was $680 billion, $16 billion more than President Obama had requested.[3] An additional $37 billion supplemental bill to support the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan was expected to pass in the spring of 2010, but has been delayed by the House of Representatives after passing the Senate.[4][5] Defense-related expenditures outside of the Department of Defense constitute between $319 billion and $654 billion in additional spending, bringing the total for defense spending to between $1.01 and $1.35 trillion in fiscal year 2010.[6] -
SIPRI has commented in the past on the increasing concentration of military expenditure, i.e. that a small number of countries spend the largest sums. This trend carries on into 2009 spending. For example,
The 15 countries with the highest spending account for over 82% of the total;
The USA is responsible for 46.5 per cent of the world total, distantly followed by the China (6.6% of world share), France (4.2%), UK (3.8%), and Russia (3.5%): -

have you ever seen the Russian, Chinese or N. Korean military parades? You know...the ones where the tanks and mobile rocket launchers are paraded through city streets?

Browns just fishing for a blowjob. No, it doesn't make me gangsta. It makes me a law abiding citizen who has the necessary permits to carry a firearm. And if you saw me you would never guess that I am carrying a firearm. It has protected me in the past and it may do so again in the future. That is all it's there for. And your pathetic brand of name calling doesn't rile me up. It makes me think you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about, and nothing useful to say.

No matter how safe gun ownership makes you feel, it's a fact that the right to bear arms has made the US a more dangerous place. Most illegal guns in the US come from a legal source (straw purchases, corrupt commercial dealers etc).
Comparing California to the UK, for example,
Cali murder rate 5.3 per 100k
Uk murder rate 1.2 per 100k
That equates to (2007)
700 uk murders, 59 by firearm,
2142 Cali murders, 1487 by firearm (the uk has twice the population of California, just used that as it's the most populace).
So yeah, brown. Legal gun sales should stop, and all firearms confiscated. I agree. -
You know what i want to see?
Stats, per capita, on crimes STOPPED by law abiding citizens.
-
Or how about burglaries per capita?
United Kingdom: 13.8321 per 1,000 people
United States: 7.09996 per 1,000 peopleSeems to me with all those guns floating around, criminals would be much more like to be burglarizing. No?
-
How about assaults?
United States: 7.56923 per 1,000 people
United Kingdom: 7.45959 per 1,000 peopleNow that's awful close considering the gun factor.

I could go on all day with individual crimes, but I have work to do. So how about we just get right to the heart of the matter:
TOTAL CRIMES PER CAPITA
# 8 United Kingdom: 1.57433 per 1,000 people
# 11 United States: 1.38527 per 1,000 people -

The uk has a problem with crime, that is not in dispute (i only used the uk in the example, as I know about it's society, more than any other.) But if I were to be the victim of a crime, in the uk, I'm unlikely to get shot. I'd take my chances with a knife wielding burglar, over a gun toting one any day. Me and my claw hammer ;)I could go on all day with individual crimes, but I have work to do. So how about we just get right to the heart of the matter:

Hmmm
Police, Per Capita:
United Kingdom: 2.04871 per 1,000 people
This one showed the top 48 countries and the US didn't even make the list.
WTF is going on over there? Y'all need to start packing some heat.

Stick 62 million angry piss heads in Michigan. See what happens. That's the uk.
The worst thing to do would be to arm them.
If you want to debate uk crime, this isn't the place, unless it's gun crime, of course. -
I'm not debating UK crime. just crime in and of itself and the argument in here by the UKers that allowing citizens to arm breeds crime.
Stats show otherwise.

You obviously didn't read the details. It's not like anyone is walking around with them hanging around their built. You want an instance when I put my gun in the small of my back? When I answer my front door or when a stranger comes in my house. We have crazy people here. Face it.Natedogg, O-dogg, wrecking crew, golddigga- wow, so you all carry guns do you? You must be all real gangsta then, especially with those names. You bunch of fuck-wits are exactly the reasons why people shouldn't have guns.
"easily conceals in the lower back"
Nice. Do you all stand in front of the mirror and say "you looking at me" a lot?
You think it makes you look like 'real' men, all hard and cool yeah? Well, you look like utter fucking cuntmops to normal society. Did that get you so irate you wanna shoot me then, you badman jizz heads??

Before I even read this. Do you know that 95% of rapes are either not reported or don't go to trial? And the ones that are aren't mostly are cases dismissed. 1 out of every 4 women are raped. That doesn't include men and children obviously.Remington👊🔨💀 wrote:
This is an incredibly stupid argument. The ignorance of so many of you blows my mind... I'll never understand how people can sit and argue with something so cut and dried... Let me pit it into perspective for you..
You take an exceedingly rare occurrence (say, 354,670 rapes in a population of 307,006,550; discount the fact that 75% of the rapes are spouses, significant others, relatives and other people you know, not random break ins) to justify anything, much less to "pit it into
