I was at my babysitters house n watching cartoons when the news interrupted ren and stumpy and they were showing the ppl that were jumping and then the second plane hit and u can see all the ppl runnin, chased by that giant cloud of the tower that was fallin down. I personally don't see why they stood around so long... That was a huge building, u really think u can run away fast enough if it came rainin down on u? Idk maybe we turn into idiots when we're terrified but I remember thinkin that the smoke was like poison or somethin n ran to shut the front door (I'm in Cali I didn't know it was happening so far away)

I posted this in another forum, but I was in Basic Training at Ft. Benning, Georgia doing Land Navigation. When we returned to the rally point our captain and sergeant major told us about the attacks. We thought it was all a part of our training, I mean we're in Basic right? We finished our training for the day and then they opened up the classrooms so we could watch the news...it was then and ther that I promised "never again".

I watched the towers fall from across the harbor. It feels like yesterday. Will never forget it. The sky was just like it is today... May God bless the victims and their families.

I was in the USAF and was working in the air traffic control tower when they issued all planes out of the air.

Was in school. Half asleep with my head on my desk when a teacher burst into the room and brought a tv in. As the whole class watched the two towers fall I remember thinking. This isn't suposed to happen. Almost the whole class was crying. The teacher was balling. That day our country, our world changed. For better or worse

I was 7 and in school I remember they stopped class and locked up the school. I remember all the teachers were scared because in San Antonio we have alot of air force bases and they thought we were going to be attacked

I was 16, a junior in HS. It was between 5:15 and 5:30 am when I woke up to start getting ready for school. I went downstairs to the kitchen to get some breakfast and my stepmom was standing there, watching the news & she told me. I didn't really get the gravity of the situation till I got to school and we spent the day watching CNN.

I was 12 at the time I can't remember what I was doing but I remember it was the evening and hearing my mum shouting "OH MY GOD" and going downstairs and seeing all the news on, I was in utter shock and my dad was in the kitchen looking very angry.

I was 20, and working in an insurance office in an old Victorian home that had been renovated. People lived on the upper floors and one tenant came running downstairs to my office. NPR had just started announcing something on my radio but instead of listening we ran up to watch the tenants tv. Standing there was so odd and confusing. The second plane hadn't hit, and we were speculating about what could've gone wrong to make this happen... When the second one hit on live tv we realized it was on purpose. My heart broke over and over watching the images and aftermath unfold. I was helpless from afar so I left the office to spend time with my family.

I was 22 and I worked directly across the street from the Long Beach trade center in california as a medical biller. At that point we didn't know if they were targeting trade centers or what. I worked night shift so we still went into work that evening, but with the option to stay home. Some ppl went home.
But that morning I was asleep, they woke me up, it was unbelievable seeing the towers collapsing. It didn't really sink into my head til later... -
I was living in Southern California, in the bathroom getting ready for work, with the TV on in the bedroom, so watched right from when the first plane hit. It was horrific, but went to work, and couldn't understand why people were so worried about being attacked in our sleepy little suburb. God rest all those who died in the tragedy, and who have since died because of the attack.

That must have been a logistics' nightmare getting all those planes diverted and safely landed.I was in the USAF and was working in the air traffic control tower when they issued all planes out of the air.

I was working for Cantor Fitzgerald in London and 658 colleagues perished on that day. I remember balling my eyes out as just weeks earlier we had met around 100 from the New York office at a function. My thoughts are still with ALL the families that suffered their tragic losses as well as those that were maimed.... 😿

I was heading to Spanish class. Then one by one all my classes cancelled that day. Landed up on campus until about 3pm bc couldn't be sure all of my professors would cancel class. Spent a lot of time reading the news to get an idea of what happened.

I was asleep.... It happened at about 1am our time. I woke up and got to work and couldn't find anyone, they were all in the lunch room watching it on tv... I remember think initially they were watching a movie...

I was 19 and in college. I had to take a physical education elective so I chose bowling. We set at the bowling alley and watched the buildings fall. I went to class later that afternoon with about 3 other people. The teacher gave a quiz consisting of writing your name on the paper in order to screw everyone else who didn't go to class. Being that I was there, I defended my classmates who were home or with loved ones and not in class. Her excuse was, "The planes didn't crash here."
I'll never forget her cruel and unsympathetic response.

I was a freshman in college and planned on skipping class that day. My roomate woke me up right after the first plane hit. I watched the second plane hit, and the towers fall. After that, I couldn't just sit there any more, so I went to the local red cross, gave blood, and volunteered the rest of the day.

I was in school. It was a long night before because of study and I was whining because of that and then I saw the second plane come in...and I forgot everything I was thinking about...

I was 29. I was a private school administrator/teacher. We were just as upset, scared, and horrified as our kids. I didn't have a TV right when it happened. We guessed something was wrong because the phones stopped ringing in the office full stop. A friend/parent drove up and told us. She told me out on the deck behind the office. I cried for a few minutes with her and then went in to tell everyone. We had kids we had to keep moving. We had a partial story we were piecing together on breaks. People were arriving/departing in cars to carry messages. Others were coming to get kids. It was a zoo. We couldn't cancel. There was no way to get students home 100%. Then kids need after care. So we waited. Thank God for lesson plans and disaster plans because I was just another kid.

I was preparing activities for children at an elementary school.
