Yes, kevlar is still very rare in metropolitan areas.

I'll give you $20 for it thenI have an assault rifle. It's just a cheap Chinese sks. I bought it for shooting rats at the dump. They closed the dump 20 years ago and I haven't shot it since. It's totally worthless for any real purpose. It can't be used for home protection because its locked in the back of the gun safe. I have much better hunting guns, I can't think of any reason I'd take out the sks over a better designed gun. It's just a toy that doesn't get played with.

Look up the stats. In the past 12 months over 400 people have been killed by "assault rifles". But over 600 have been killed with knives and over 800 with hammers. None of you scream to ban hammers, do you?

Tell that to the red coats, the greatest army in 1776. There are plenty of former military within our civilian ranks. Look at Japan's quote for why they did not invade the US.And keyser, of we ever do get invaded and you think that you're going to go call of duty on a professionally trained military, well, I'm sure they will be happy to use your weapons and ammo do their cause, because you won't use them for long.

Yet you don't need an assault weapon to shoot that person breaking into your house. A pistol or a shotgun will kill him just as dead. It's not about NEEDING a gun. It's about having the RIGHT to own a gun. In KY, if someone breaks into your home, you have the right to shoot the burglar. Now, the chances of someone breaking into my home? Slim. But I sleep easy at night knowing that if someone ever tries to harm my family, I'll be able to shoot the bastard who attempts to harm me or mine

What quote? The rifle behind every blade of grass quote? That quote is most likely made up. It is not found it in the writings of the Japanese admiral it is usually attributed to, and none of his contemporaries documented he said it either.Tweek wrote:

Besides, gun laws were loosened for nazi Germany. Only Jews were banned from having guns. The rest of them were encouraged to own them. There's a whole heap of crap that goes along with hitlers reign and it has little to do with taking away their guns. It's a rediculous notion to say Hitler took their guns therefore he controlled them. As if life is ever that simple.Tweek wrote:

The Atlantic ocean is what saved our asses. A 2 month trip to get here at that time. In the end it wasn't worth the effort to take it. It's not that we we were better, we just had the advantage of the oceans and time between us. There were no subs and fighter jets then. Not only that but we would have never got it done without the French, Spanish, and Dutch. The only ones with a navy. ;)Tweek wrote:

And we won't be fighting each with the same weapons. It's not all muskets and cannonballs. -
It looks like this Missouri HB 545 that Glen Beck's hair is ablaze over has almost zero chance of actually passing with the NRA lobby against it. If you read it however, all it does is add defined assault rifles to an existing list of prohibited weapons which already includes brass knuckles and switchblades among other things. Like it or not, states and municipalities are allowed to ban any weapons they like. Federal law evolves partially through this exact kind of legislative experimentation on the state level.

I really don't care what the opinions of non Americans are when it comes to OUR country. I feel safe (allegedly) having my guns. I don't need them, I probably won't ever use them outside of sport shooting and entertainment. But as a law abiding citizen who is a free thinking and a morally righteous person, I don't believe any of you have the right to tell me what I can or can't own as long as its not hurting anyone else. I passed my background checks, went through safety classes, and (allegedly) paid good money for said firearms. I don't care if you people want me to have an assault rifle. My life. My choice. Like someone said earlier, why do cars register 180mph when the speed limits are posted at well under 100mph. Does anyone need to go that fast? Nope. But I'm not gonna get all butt hurt and hope the government takes your car away. Leave my (alleged) guns the fuck alone!!! They aren't hurting anyone! Lets get off the gun topic and discuss mental health issues. That's where the problem lies........
-
Some stats I had to share. There are approx 700,000 doctors in the US. Accidental deaths by doctors per year -120,000 (stats courtesy of US Dept of health & human serv) number of gun owners in US - 80Million. Accidental GUN deaths per yr across ALL age groups -1800. (Stats from FBI). Statistically- you are 9,000 times more likely to be killed by a doctor than a gun. Apparently guns don't kill people - DOCTORS do!😳
-
Mr71VW - why the 'alleged' bits in your post... Unless I misread (which is highly possible) it makes me feel like u shouldn't actually own the guns you do - or that they don't exist.
I think the mental health point is valid and true to all countries world wide. Unfortunately state side it is easier for these individuals to access weaponry capable of killing large numbers in one go

The (alleged) comments you are referring to, Mr BC, is a joking attempt at the pro gun people as the rest is a poke at the anti gun people. Honestly my opinion is that everyone is looking in the doghouse for the cat. Guns aren't the problem and shouldn't be the issue. Mental healthcare Is THE issue. However I would like to have a Death Star! That would be cool as hell! (As long as the stormtroopers, operational officers, and ig88's come with it) -----errrrr, wait, does the Death Star come stocked with sailor Jerry's? If not, never mind. Anyone seen my worlds fair spoon? Either way the gun debate bores me! Yawwwn!! Same people same gay ass pro or anti arguments and neither opinion is worth a damn. Imma go take a nap💤💤Mr71VW - ✂they don't exist.

I guess that would depend on your viewpoint - if a criminal was about to kill someone and was shot, thus saving that persons life, then would that count?Ski24 wrote:

"🙏Please god, do not let anyone ban sledgehammers.🙏 .. if guns are outlawed i would really like to switch to those, to assault law-abiding citizens with them... Theyre great for knocking down doors, busting thru car windows and crushing bones.. And readily available to anyone... p.s. please also do not let anyone ban machetes.. They are extremely easy to conceal and get the job done quick... p.p.s please do not let anyone institutionalize me for my unstable condition. It would hurt my feelings and i would have to get a lawyer and sue them." - from, the insane guy that forgot to take his pills.

The constitutions of most of our states assert that power is inherent in the people; that... It is their right and duty to be at all times armed

Silly Europeans, you don't understand. We left Europe because the government was controlling the pilgrims lives. And still the government is in your faces and you don't even notice it. Americans today are trying to not become Europe even if assult rifles aren't neccesary or are way too dangerous for a citizen to have. If we give in a little eventually we will lose all of our guns. This is called appeasement. Europeans appeased hitler before ww2 by giving him some of land in Czechoslovakia (some germans lived there) and they left him alone when he invaded the whole country. Then he invaded Poland, and he expected to be left alone but Russia had a problem with that. This is why we don't give up our guns. If you don't believe anything I say then look it up: ww2 how it started/ appeasement to hitler

Guns kill people?
Well forks made me fat! -
Legitballer - genuinely very interesting u would compare stricter gun control in the US to the rise of Hitler in Germany.
I don't agree with what u said in the slightest but interesting that u would say it
-
Guess what? We probably need to outlaw horse shit, somebody like that idiot Tim mcviegh might blow something up

Wait could this thread get all of the Americans in here locked up indefinitely , with out trial , for our opinion ? Even as screwed up as my country is right now I LOVE her and it pisses me of seeing our politicians literally circumventing our constitution , they are criminals.

thats not the problem. its a hell of a lot easier to hurt a higher number of people with an assault rifle, compared to a pistol. dont even try to argue that, because it's just a fact. You are all absolutely correct. It's the gun's fault. Not the mentally unstable individuals behind them. 👍
