No. I didn't think that. In case you didn't know, people can carry firearms into schools, as well. Given the proper authorizations, of course.Oh so what aubergine ha been thinking is that I meant it would be easy nonono anyone can but must get the proper lisence in order to do so. A long process but yes possible for anyone

No, not necessarily cops. It's easier to be allowed to carry a gun into a school than to carry a gun into a courthouse or on a plane.★Λubergine★ wrote:

Quit blaming the rifle. Hold the unstable idiot behind the rifle accountable.I can see our forefathers looking down at us in disappointment at the people who refuse to do anything about innocent children being murdered, and traumatized by assault riles.
No one is accountable anymore. It's always someone/something else's fault.
What about that guy's teachers, counselors, friends, family, and parents? Why not pass the blame to them for what he did for not getting him the help he obviously needed. The gun has become the "scapegoat" to this entire ordeal because no one wants to take blame for what has happened. No one wants to be at fault for failing him.

Transport is different than carry. Gun transport on a plane is easy as pie.★Λubergine★ wrote:

To transport a firearm would be have it in checked baggage. To carry a firearm would be to have it in your possession onboard the aircraft.

As a teacher, I am not opposed to conceal carry in the classroom. However, to be allowed to do so, we would need far more extensive training than just the CHL class and regular background checks.
There is a parallel program that gets overlooked frequently. It's the federal flight deck officer program. It allows airline pilots to carry guns, but requires significant training. The pilots who elect to apply pay for the training on their own, and there is no benefit other than piece of mind. Airlines can't pay someone more for being a ffdo. That keeps people doing it for the right reasons.
This type of program could be a quick 'copy and paste' into the school system.

I am in favor of better care for the mentally ill. Background checks. Long jail sentences for those you violate current gun laws. More prosecutions of those who violate current gun laws. What other solution do we have? The banning the assult rifle is the only logical step we can take.
You keep on saying banning the assault rifle is bad, yet you show no other alternative. You can't ignore the problem with crazy people and assault rifles.
Something has to be done. You can ignore this topic forever for its only going to get worse as time goes on.
I like somebody saying yes to background checks. Close that gun show loop hole. And yes. Up the ante on violent offenders NOW. -
Watching the horror unfold in Newtown, it was clear early on that something horrific happened. It was also clear that early on, the shooter was dead by the slow and deliberate response of the teams. Only later did we understand why.
They were trying to figure out how to best get the children out fast and safe but also the least traumatized by the gore surrounding them.
The gore caused by the bullet power of multiple clips in the hands of a mentally disturbed person.
I am for home security and background checks. Even if you don't think it will help, it won't hurt. And closing that gun show loop hole is vital, I think. Any law abiding citizen won't have a problem with it cause you have already had it.
Also, I am for conceal carry. -
Change hipa laws so the mentally Ill will be turned away from buying a firearm when it is discovered in the initial background check.

This goes against everything I've been taught in school, they DID leave because they were persecuted. They wouldn't leave if they weren't because who would want to leave their home just because the government began to tolerate others. There is no way that's true. Did the southern slave owners leave America after they lost the civil war? No.⚡🏀ʟєցi†ßɑʟʟєʀ🏀⚡ wrote:
The pilgrims left England because they disagreed with religious freedom, not for lack of it or because they were persecuted. The Church of England had begun a policy of tolerance towards other religions such as Calvinism and Catholicism. The Pilgrims, or PURITANS as they were called, believed that English tolerance of other religions was a threat to the PURITY of their supposed one true faith, so they left for greener pastures where their children wouldn't be exposed to other religions.✂
