Yes, kevlar is still very rare in metropolitan areas.
We are not Nazi Germany, and out government does not have the power that Hitler had.

You're ridiculous. A criminal will use ANYTHING to commit a crime. Banning automatic rifles isn't the fucking answer to world peace. If you plan on hunting do you take a 50 round assault rifle or shit? No. What do use it for then? The average hard working American doesn't need it. But a criminal can use it to kill dozens of people at once. Why so we need it?

Great point. They have tanks and bombs. So go ahead, use your assault rifle against a tank. See how far that gets you.Tweek wrote:

It's a republic, but a republic is a form of democracy. DIRECT democracy everyone votes on everything. US has a big population. If everyone voted on everything it would be time consuming. That is why we vote for representatives to REPRESENT us. We have direct democracy on propositions.Tweek wrote:

People say this violates our constitution. They are only trying to ban assault rifles, not hand guns, not rifles (single fire),not shotguns. You see the point.
Second when the constitution was made people weren't going inside schools with assaults weapons (which they didn't even have back then) and started mass murder of children. This isn't the first massacre with assault rifles nor will it be the last, even after the ban if it goes through it will happen, but it will be an improvement.
For those people that say if America is ever invaded they will fire on the enemy troops with their assault weapons. I doubt 90% of those people will actually do it, and for those 10% they likely won't succeed very well for most people are not able to match military training unless your actually in the military. If a nation does decide to invade this country they have to be extremely powerful and determined, local milita (most of which little to no training) will be the least of their threats.

I have an assault rifle. It's just a cheap Chinese sks. I bought it for shooting rats at the dump. They closed the dump 20 years ago and I haven't shot it since. It's totally worthless for any real purpose. It can't be used for home protection because its locked in the back of the gun safe. I have much better hunting guns, I can't think of any reason I'd take out the sks over a better designed gun. It's just a toy that doesn't get played with.

👍👍👍👍It's not about NEEDING a gun. It's about having the RIGHT to own a gun. In KY, if someone breaks into your home, you have the right to shoot the burglar. Now, the chances of someone breaking into my home? Slim. But I sleep easy at night knowing that if someone ever tries to harm my family, I'll be able to shoot the bastard who attempts to harm me or mine

Actually most weapons use in the past killing sprees have not been owned by the individual...and to ban them would be violating our 2nd amendment right and that is simply not a possibility.🌾ᏦᎻᎪᏞ🌾 wrote:
Less assault guns= less schools shooting and other shootings. The mighty and all-knowing federal government will protect us all from guns, and sickness, and evil. And once all the guns are rounded up, it will protect us from tyranny. And tuck us into our cocoons a night and provide for all of our needs.
Once again only military needs assault weapons anyway.....If the law pass there will be a lot of law suits against it and will be eventually overturned.

So is a 2 liter plastic bottle with the contents of ammonia mixed with bleach. Heck, you'll find all of these on every household cabinets. But why aren't those banned? Are we waiting for another criminal to use that before we put restriction towards other things?✯Ꮲ༙ᏐᏟᎪ༙ᏕᏕᏫ༙✯ wrote:

This bill has zero chance of even making it to a committee. It's Missouri after all. I wouldn't get too bent out of shape about it.

I don't own what is now called an " assault rifle " but I do own a few semi auto rifles. all my guns are permitted and comply with all current laws .. Do I need them NO but I wanted them ... And the same rights that protect me and allow me to own these weapons are the same rights that allow people to tell me I should not own them ... Sorry just my thoughts
-
The problem, people is that criminals don't follow the law. In case you haven't noticed, it's not the law abiding citizens that are causing the problems. Ask yourself this - if the laws CURRENTLY on the books are not keeping these guns out of the hands of the criminals, then why do you believe new laws will effect a criminal. AGAIN, the bad people with the bad guns don't care about any legislation that is passed. My two cents.

Why bring a knife to a gun fight? If the criminal wont obey the law and may have a crazy fuckin belt fed machine gun, you wanna have a 9mm w/ only an 8 round mag since the federal govt said 10 rounds is too much? I'd rather have my AR w/ my 42 round mag and my 30 round mag. Extreme and unlikely but reality is, I want to carry the biggest gun I can if I'm defending my home.✯Ꮲ༙ᏐᏟᎪ༙ᏕᏕᏫ༙✯ wrote:

Hard to be accurate? Then why can I take out multiple targets at 800 meters in seconds?

Interesting point . On a shooting trip not long ago. Stalked our target using skill and woodsman ship. Killed with one shot skinned and butchered it leaving nothing behind.
Not that long ago on a trip in the USA went hunting. When asked people to be calm and stop making so much noise they replyed why? We scare it out and fill it with rounds. There is no skill in hunting with a auto ask any army sniper they still use blog action. AR = lazy hunting

No such thing as an assault rifle. That's a term created by the media to demonize AR style weapons and any other weapon they consider unsuitable. Which eventually will be all of them.
It's not about need its about freedom. If I want one I can have it. By your premise I could ask why would you need a car that can go faster than 70mph. When the speed limit is 70 mph. You really have no "need" for a car that can. But you do or you can if you want one because of freedom. -
