My view: automatics and extended clips have to go. The right to carry should also be analyzed with extreme scrutiny.
Too many people are dying from guns, which can be related to the amount of guns. Make guns harder to get, stop pushing that you need a gun to be safe. Have intensive background checks to acquire a weapon.
You should have seen the file they pulled out when I went in for my firearms license screening. We spent 6 hours going over every little bit of mischief I got into as a child. Half the shit I didn't know how they knew, my parents neer even found out lol. Trust me, criminals only use illegal fire arms in Canada. It's the psychos with access to highpowered automatic weapons with extended clips that worry me. -

Why control the gun? Why not educate the masses? Help the people who needs it most. There are thousands, perhaps even millions of professionals and even volunteers who would be more than willing to help the people who are in dire need of such help.
These shootings that you see in the media, many of them are not even known criminals. Some don't even have a criminal record. We shout 'gun control', yet ignore the facts around us that many of these people who commit such brutal actions need help too. No matter how much control you have over guns, there would always be other ways to acquire one. The only difference is who is behind the gun.
Let's take the San Antonio theatre shooting for example. It happened TWO DAYS right after the Newton shooting. Luckily, none were killed because there was an off-duty officer on the scene who had their weapon inside the cinema. But why didn't the media cover it as much as they did with other events? Is it because it shows that guns could alter a tragic situation? -
Let's help the people who need it most. If the facts show that more than half of these criminals have mental illness then it's a clear index finger where we should start. #rantover
Sorry, I'm not usually like this.

Because the UK had less gun murders in the whole country, in the whole year, than one dude did in one shooting spree. Now thats fucked up.
-
I'll just say this - if only we had a federal ban on assault weapons in 1999, maybe the tragedy of Columbine High School never would have happened. Just like a federal ban on assault weapons would have prevented Century Theater in Aurora or Sandy Hook Elementary.
Oh. No shit? Oh ok. Never mind.

Had a couple AK's and a nice LMT AR. Had them for a coupe years and recently sold them for almost double what I paid. I'm an avid hunter, mostly bow, but some gun, and I don't have near enough time to shoot those guns much less assault rifles. Honestly, I don't have a problem with them doing away with them or requiring some higher level permit with fees to acquire them. The big thing is how fast they shoot and the capacity. What would they be possibly needed for besides target and what we see on tv. Self defense BS. Try to break in my house I got 12 shotguns from 10 gauge down to 410 that will do much more damage. If I need more I just grab my 30.06, 25.06, 300 win mag, 30/30 and others all with scopes. Any of those fail, 9mm, Kimber .45, and a snub nose .38 should do the trick. You don't need assault rifles to hunt or defend yourself. Their useless.

Again, I had them, played with them and showed them off like I thought they were cool. Over price paper weights for my money. I suggest all to take advantage of the idiots willing to pay top dollar. Sell yours and go by something more versatile that you can actually use. JMO

I can understand banning auto rifles & HC magazines. But taking away semi auto is crossing the line.

Under the old Clinton-era assault weapon ban, it was considered an assault weapon if it had two of five qualities: pistol grip, hc magazine, one button mag release, lugnut, I forget the other and the specifics on the above. But if similar legislation passes that could impact ARs but not the mini14.
Also, my smith M&P 9mm handgun has three of the aobe qualities if you consider 17 rounds to be "high capacity". Very interesting to see what will happen with new legislation.

I agree with you, bro. And if we outlawed guns entirely that would happen less. Oh don't worry. I'm not a "BAN GUNS" person. I'm a "stricter gun laws" person. BUT I am also, need for better mental health care, awareness and prevention, proper training, and so much more. To me banning a gun or multiple types would be a MASSIVE waste of taxpayer money.∞ $ℰℰḲ€ℜ ∞ wrote:

Guys one gun is too many. You Americans need to rewrite the whole " right to bear arms" thingy and just stop with the guns here and there. And ya more guns in schools is insane as anything I ever herd. Then move on to your economy and healthcare
