Whilst we are a country with freedom of religion (as long as that religion does not cause harm to others or it's members) our countries morals were based on the bible. You can argue that with me if you want, but it is true. (and that is a fight for pm)glman wrote:
The thing is, we aren't supposed to be a culture based on a particular religion. Our country is built on people from all cultures, and our laws are supposed to protect the rights of all cultures. Christians are free to be Christians, and everybody else is free to be whatever they want. We aren't supposed to be a Christian country. We're a free country.YoungP wrote:

Meh. I think thoughts are also a sin. As a Christian, the bible says thinking something is the same as doing it. I would love to talk about that (simetime)Ghetto Monstazz wrote:

I was raised in a very religious family. Half of them are Catholic, the other half are Methodists. I decided long ago that I didn't believe in god, only right or wrong. I believe that hurting, oppressing, or defaming people based on different beliefs are wrong. I have no problem with their opinions. But by funding anti-gay groups, he's contributing to the oppression of a harmless subculture simply for not agreeing with his beliefs, and I think that's wrong. So I don't support it by giving him my business. He can keep doing what he wants, but he's not using my money to do it.

Practice and believe what you want but you don't live in a Christian country so you can't bake your religious beliefs into laws (nor anyone else for that matter).Honestly, as a Christian, I do think being gay is a sin (That is a different discussion though) and I think it's sad our culture has gotten so far away from christianity, but I can't expect people who aren't Christians to follow our morals. So while I don't agree with gay marrage, I think it will become legal.
I think it's sad that religious people who would be the first people to be up in as if someone proposed laws to prevent them from doing something or getting a tax break are also the first people to do that to others...
One could argue you have strayed as well- "do unto others"

I just explained it. Are you insinuating that anyone who doesn't believe in god is incapable of understand what it means not to be an asshole? The same morals that apply to Christians were around long before Christianity. In fact, Christianity is basically a mixed bag of pagan or "heathen" cultures that were wiped out or assimilated by Christianity.

Morality, laws, and ethics existed long before the Christian god made an appearance. Ancient Greece, ancient Rome, ancient Egypt, all pagan/polytheistic and all with laws and codes of ethics very similar to early America. No Christian god required. This is basic stuff.

Not true, Christianity is based off of judaism, and we are grafted into god's chosen people. Yes I am insinuating that without a god you can't have right and wrong. Again where does right and wrong come from? If it comes from you, then mine may be different than yours.I just explained it. This about sums up my opinion of the company owner and his statements.
