Face eater!!

I could guarantee if you were in the police officer's shoes and YOU walk up too seeing another dude ripping apart another man's face your first reaction isn't shooting pepper spray, taser, or clubbing a human being who growled at you and still to proceed eat his face your obv going to fire your weapon. Almost everyone will fire that weapon..Idc who you are..the officer did the right thing

"Once it took 15 police officers to subdue a Bath Salts user.."
No, but that's how many you used.
Let's assume that cop broke bones or something to get him to stop. The public would be outraged over police brutality then. Unfortunately (or fortunately) shooting a guy who was chewing on another guy after being warned multiple times to stop is more justified in the public eye.

I have a tendency to agree with brown that shootin the guys wasn't the most proffesional response. Then again coming in such a gory scene would make a proffessional response more difficult than usual. Should the officer be punished? No. He was in a bizarr situation and did his best. Wasn't the best possible response but these things happen
-
The officer fired one shot into the guy that was in a non-lethal area, but the guy kept going to town on the other guy's face...I don't know about you, but if I were a sane human being eating another guy's face, and somebody told me to stop, and then shot me....I believe one shot would be enough to stop me. I wouldn't make him shoot me five more times. A jail cell wouldn't have helped this poor fellow.
-
Oh, I call bullshit on the "non-lethal shot" argument.
Every time I say shooting is not the same as killing, everyone freaks out on me... I was trained to disable with a .45 and to avoid killing the target. But people freak when I explain that...So you guys need to stop using it. Not fair!
Next, maybe YOUR reaction is of pure horror, which is maybe why I don't get this... But a Miami-Dade police officer has seen this kind of gore before. Watch the video. Look at the pics. That police officer was absolutely fine. What will disturb this officer more is the fact that he killed someone, and he will probably second-guess what he did and how he did it.
I see no way around this. Put the emotion away and look at it objectively and professionally. The officer failed to kick ass here, that's all there is to it.
Hell, call animal control. A wire loop on a pole would have solved this.
He wasn't a monster zombie. It was a dude. A young dude. And I'm really sorry he's dead.

Amen👏👏👏👏👏Shouldn't have shot him?? Are you kidding me?? He was eating (or shredding, with his teeth) another person's face. Said (now faceless) person's life was endangered. That cop was absolutely justified using lethal force. What next? The military shouldn't shoot suicide bombers? Just run up and give em a hug?? People who think cops shouldn't use lethal force, should do some ride alongs or get their own peace officer cert. Don't "armchair quarterback" that cops actions until you've walked down the street and come across a person chewing another person AND have the responsibility to protect the public!!
-
Im sorry but those of you who think he shouldn't have used lethal force are just stupid. Some one is naked, growling at you, and killing someone else. Shoot the nasty bastard!
-
Who cares who shot who there's people eating other people! What the hell! And don't say it was drugs or LSD.
I don't use any more and haven't for a long time but when I did I did it all and I never even considered eating some ones face not even once. -

I honestly believe the police where I live would have just beat on him. That's the rational thing to do. Naked, shoot? Growl, shoot? Killing someone else??? Stomp on that prick! He's unarmed and naked. The sun was up. One good golf swing with the shotgun... He'll not be chewing any more. He'll need to suck people to death with a straw.
What is this bizzare feeling everyone has against this guy? Robbing a house? Gosh, no... Don't shoot! You'll go to jail! Bar brawl? Heavens.. Don't even kick them too much.. It will be called police brutality.
Guy out of his mind on the ground? Shoot the nasty bastard. Don't even try to stop him. Impossible. What are you, stupid? He was NEKKID!

So did any one watch the footage from the surveillance camera showing the cop jump back when he saw the crazy guy eating the other guy? I laughed only because that's exactly how I would have reacted! I'm not sure about the shooting part but I definitely would have been freaked out.

It just would have been better if he didn't freak out. So he did. No biggie. But the dude is dead because the cop freaked out. I like it when cops are super-cool and bad-asses. That image that they are able to project time and time again, like super heroes, was tarnished a bit in me this time.
-
Ya by the look of it, and the way it sounds, he wasn't thinking clearly. Probably ZOMBIE AAAHHHH!! Oh shit I can't subdue this unarmed crazy ZOMBIE without getting scratched and turning into one myself, quick shoot him like they do in the the movies!
-
Well seeing as how he has been arrested before for attempting to kill his mother and has been tased before idk. Sounds like this guy wasn't the cream of the crop to begin with.
-
Some pretty gruesome shit going on lately!! I read yesterday how a lady murdered her baby and ate some of his body parts!!! To me that's sicker than the zombie dude.

I feel like I'm presenting myself in a clear, articulate manner.
Yet I'm still being pegged as a hippy.
I don't get it.

I love when people bring this argument in that small calibers won't have much of an effect. Yes, I acknowledge that it won't do as much damage as a larger caliber. But, it is still punching a hole through your fricking body. 98% of the population would react as I would and freak out. The other 2% would look up growl at you and continue to eat their face filet sandwich. Laughable that you think a person that growls at a GSW would accept a stomping so easily.

There should be six booms there.Frankly, the police officer was probably afraid of one or more of the following:
Blood diseases. Bites/infections.
Skin Diseases.
Brutality Charges.
Zombies. They don't get paid enough for that crap.
But that's why cops are so awesome to me. Usually, they take a ton of shit, show remarkable professionalism and restraint, and throw their lives on the line to protect the citizens. Pure awesomeness.
But in this case, there was no heroics. No restraint. No ass-kicking. It was "Ewwww, blood! I'm not touching that shit. Boom, boom boom boom."
Kind of disappointing.

What have humans became?!?!
-
Here it is. You all seem to think this guy was a complete monster. A rabid animal. You have convicted him in your minds. He's not one of us. You are shocked and a bit horrified by him.
You've either watched zombie movies too much like you're supposed to, or you are afraid of zombie movies.
Your automatic response is: Execute him on sight. You empathize with the police officer, and that's what YOU would do. You are offended when someone suggests that he might have made the wrong choice.
You can watch police arresting and shooting people all day long online. But this one was different. Not because of the crime, but because of the way the officer reacted.
He shot an unarmed man for assault on another man. No self defense involved here. There was no confusion.
That's what this boils down to. And it's freakin' RARE that this happens.
You think the Miami police USUALLY shoot first and ask questions later in cases of unarmed assault? No they do not.
