Who was Jesus?

But there's obviously a difference as someone has listed above. If u WANT it then it's not like *poof* you're clean. You have to be sincere. Really go through the whole process. Of course everyone sins, but we shouldn't repeat sins multiple times if you were really sincere and ACTUALLY wanted it more than how fun your sin was.

Then I would argue either they aren't truly saved or if they're repentant and work toward not sinning they can. Only God knows the heart, humans lie, but God never does. There are no "little sins" God is holy, he can't be around sin. Jesus covers our sin with his perfect life. When I became a Christian all my sins past and future died on the cross. Jesus was a real person. I walk by faith and not by sight. I will tell you that the most amazing thing ever is the way I am changed through salvation. It's awesome.glman wrote:

I'm happy for you mate, unfortunately I will not be one swayed towards believing in Jesus. That is my choice and to be completely honest I'm happy with it.

How can you be sincere when honestly in your heart and head you don't believe Jesus was the son of god? Until I am given proof beyond any reasonable doubt I will live my life the best way I know. Proof beyond reasonable doubt doesn't exist. For I walk by faith and not by sight. In the end I could show you indisputable evidence of god and you'd still reject it. God has a time for everything. There is one God with three "essences". He is completely one, yet separte. Kinda like a flower. Pedals, Stem, and roots. It's all one flower, but it's made up of completely different parts. Its not as confusing as it seems.glman wrote:

If God knew our hearts, he wouldn't have had to traumatize Abraham and Isaac by making him tie up is son and prepare to kill him as proof of his loyalty. This part of the brain seems to switch off when you find religion for some reason.

Others have found it, too. Then realized it was a drug, it deceived them, and moved passed it. All religions do the same thing: love, peace, understanding, "eye opening". You could have that at a Jew, a Hari Krishna, or a Jehovah's Witness. Same drug.Instead of narrowing your vision, I encourage you to step outside and notice that all religion is for the same purpose, to the same effect.

I have "expirienced" other religions. It is nothing like my life now. Brown you can't argue the change in me. Sorry, you can't. It has never gone away and it never will. I hope you see that some day. This thread is done now.

"He IS the messiah! I should know; I've followed a few!"
Yeah... I used to be just like you. Don't question, only follow. It really is like a drug, and it took me years to recover from it.

But now I know I was pulled in and brainwashed by it. Then I went off to college at 30, and studied religion, and science, and western culture, and saw history and religion clearly for the first time. Without faith. Without emotion. Just as it is.
You are preaching to the three-time converted, my son.

Science and Cjristianity go hand in hand?
Christianity: SOME GUY CREATED THE EARTH SIX THOUSAND YEARS AGO AND THE WORLD IS FLAT AND STARS ARE JUST LIGHTS!
Science: The universe began billions of years ago with the Big Bang. The earth is round and it took billions of years to form. Stars are huge balls of gas. We evolved from primitive species over millions of years. -

Jer 13:14/ Deut 7:16/ 1 Sam 15:2,3/ 1 Sam 6:19God is kind, merciful, and good

But that's simply not true. Debates like this do shape ideas, and people change. I wasn't always a libertarian/conservative, and I wasn't always an atheist.
It was through debates like this one and study and experience that I developed my ideas.
I don't mind a few converts if the Christians don't. It becomes dark and dangerous when we delete conversations like this out of fear.

Jesus? He was a guy who I sat with at the lunch table back in grade school, why?
