The jews have set their standards too high and are waiting for David. So Jesus is not their saviour.
Read Genesis.

I believe that ALL scripture is god inspired and that is seen in how it NEVER contradicts itself and it flows perfectly. Translations differ only in wording, the message is still the same. John also wrote 1,2,3 John as well, AND there are other accounts of the things in revalations (Daniel). John was Jesus' closest disciple. He focused less on the Man/Miracles of Jesus and more on his teachings and his state as god just as the other gospels focus on certain points. The trinity makes sense because God is god, he can do what he wants. God is one being with three essences. Do I understand that? No. But do I beleive it? Yes.First example I could find was this.
God dwells in chosen temples
Chron 7:12God dwells not in temples
Acts 7:48Contradiction? Yes.

God is cruel, unmerciful, destructive, and ferocious
Jer 13:14/ Deut 7:16/ 1 Sam 15:2,3/ 1 Sam 6:19God is kind, merciful, and good
James 5:11/ Lam 3:33/ 1 Chron 16:34/ Ezek 18:32/ Ps 145:9Another contradiction....

I see no contrdiction when dealing with judgement and the Holyness of His character. You sir do not know theology, you will quote these passages out of their context and perceive them in your "atheism". If you actually desire to know what these passages mean then I invite you to a bible study on paltalk.God is cruel, unmerciful, destructive, and ferocious
Jer 13:14/ Deut 7:16/ 1 Sam 15:2,3/ 1 Sam 6:19God is kind, merciful, and good

Fine. To answer your question as to why I chose Christianity. It's different. EVERY other religion that leads to some type of better life says that only works will get you there. Christianity says works will never get you there, only god can and he loves us so much, he made the way to heaven a free gift. Once I became I christian I knew without a doubt it was true. All facts may be wrong and we can debate forever. But I am changed. And no human mindset or trickery accomplish the change in me.
(and actually, I find most atheist are versed in religion.) -

Jesus ascended to Heaven because the people needed a physical idea of where it was. It was extremely hard to understand at the time. That's what I think, anyway.KeyMan2 wrote:
Almost, except any scientific evidence of Jesus. He never wrote anything himself(cant do an analysis of his writing) and theres no possible way to do DNA testing since his mortal body somehow got out of the ground and ascended to heaven. Which is strange. Why is heaven up and hell below? I thought heaven was outside of our physical world so heaven could be in any direction. Or no direction at all.Agent XX3 wrote:

Of course not!!! It'd be better to say "ok my son I forgive you for not believing in my son Jesus Christ for you are only human, please accept me into your life and I will accept you into heaven" Yeah that sounds like a better, fairer more loving god.Add: OLSEN wrote:

let me rephrase EVERY has a chance to accept JESUS the ONLY god before they die.Sweet! Because I dont believe jesus was god, nor do I believe there was an intentional intelligent design of our universe. I am the only god in my life. So does that mean if in the end when I die and there really is a heaven ill be let in because I believe in myself? I am my own jesus.
Also if what you say is true then it doesnt matter what religion you believe in. Since "Everyone has the chance to accept Jesus in their life, whether it's by that name or not." -

So it's just to let everybody in regardless of lifestyle. Is it that hard to say. I beleive Jesus died on the cross for my sins because I'm a sinner, please forgive me of my sins? It's not like you have to DO anything. It's COMPLETELY free. That is the most loving thing I have ever heard.Of course not!!! It's not free. A broken heart and a contrite spirit is needed for true repentance. The love of god is the greatest kind and what better way to show it than letting his only begotten son die for our sins. Need I say more?Add: OLSEN wrote:

There is one God with three "essences". He is completely one, yet separte. Kinda like a flower. Pedals, Stem, and roots. It's all one flower, but it's made up of completely different parts. Its not as confusing as it seems.glman wrote:

Of course it is. I know a lot of Christians who go out Friday and Saturday night and sin more than anyone i know and i dont just mean little sins either, then go to church on Sunday and they are good Christians. Does that make them better and more acceptable than say someone who never committed a sin in his life who doesn't believe in Jesus?Add: OLSEN wrote:

And it is that hard to say when you don't believe in Jesus.
