And these facts mean what? Yea, I am not a major in biology. I do know some common knowledge, but not exact numbers and such. Millions was exageration on my part. Although the number of eggs a women produces is not a few either. -

Slugboy- thank you very much for that sentiment. On that note, I could very well turn around and call you a evolutionary wackjob. It works both ways, and both sides believe they're right. So, therefore, you cannot know everything and thus have no right to make such a judgement call.

😓 I really think this would be a good time to let this thread die. For a while it is a good debate, but eventually it will create more hate. Such is the way with a paraniod world.

And I put forward my thoughts on this matter a good few pages back. Nobody felt the need to discuss them.
FYI, you are also on my nut list based on your religious based opinions on abortion ;) but of course you will respect my opinion on that won't you.... -
I don't think the federal government should make ANY laws concerning abortion, because even legalizing it would be taking sides in a religious debate.
-
It is not a religious debate. It is a constitutional issue.
-
Natedog, let me first state that abortion is not killing babies as you so crudely put it in order to make it sound bad. Now, I don't know what you're talking about or Belial in regards to "birth control not being effective". Having legal abortions is safer for everyone, because they will be done underground like B said. There are also lower amounts of abortions because if abortions are legal, that usually goes hand in hand with free birth control and more education regarding sex. And more planned parenthood means letting them get to everywhere they need to be without religious zealots claiming they are trying to corrupt the youth.

Since when is abortion a religious debate? By that logic cancer is also a religious issue.

You have to have all of abortion legal or all of it illegal. Besides you can't force a woman to raise a child. Also if you allow it for rape and not for normal pregnancies what are you going to get? You're going to get a whole lot of women falsely claiming rape.⌖🔥Belial🔥⌖ wrote:
That's why I said that "in the majority of cases" abortion shouldn't be an option. Rape and the safety of the mother should be handled differently than pregnancies being kept secret from parents or "whoops, I made a mistake last night"Well. It's still considered a right in our country. And I think should continue ission from the government. And a woman that could possibly face death from her pregnancy could find she is too late after cutting through red tape. Most abortions are done in secret to hide the pregnancy from the parent.

What I'm trying to say is, where religious and non-religious people disagree, it is not the responsibility of the federal government to decide for everyone what is right. When I have to pay taxes to support something against what I believe, there is no longer separation of religion and state. Leave it up to the states, or even individual doctors, to decide where they stand on abortion. It is not a religious debate. It is a constitutional issue.

No one is forcing doctors to preform abortions and constitutional issues are not the jurisdiction of the states.
You cannot decide which issues are religious in nature. Your religion does not make decisions for me.

Ojibwe wrote:
Here's another way of putting it: the states each have a right to decide whether a law is constitutional or not, and people who disagree with abortion can move to a state where it is illegal. But if the central government makes a law either way about abortion, then someone who disagrees with the law would have to leave the country to avoid it.No one is forcing doctors to preform abortions and constitutional issues are not the jurisdiction of the states.
