🇷🇺Communism vs. Democracy🇺🇸
Forums › General Discussion › 🇷🇺Communism vs. Democracy🇺🇸-
What are your views on this? Amercans are raised taught that it is the worst thing you could believe in. Yet many argue myself included that it's actually bad but it depends on who is running whether they want power or to fix a broken country. So what do you people think?
-
Well first off I believe communism is bad, doesn't matter who's in charge. And second off haveing gone through the educational system recently k-12 and college, schools aren't teaching that communism is purely evil. They talk about as if it's a second option and a good option at that. But it isint, our form of government in the USA is the best one in world history. It has been infiltrated yes, and it's core principles are falling apart. Nonetheless I wouldent trade a democratic government under our constitution for any other. The secret to our success is our constitution, always safe guard it.

It is my belief that communism is an ideal but unachieavable goal. Total eqality, void of jealousy because there is nothing your neigbor has that you don't... I'd like to see it, but it is something that human nature won't allow.
-
I believe that communism is bad, and so is a pure democracy. Also, the US was made a republic because in a democracy, the minority is ruled by the majority.

Good opinions

In reponse to the "evilness" of communism, the reason Americans and mny others conceive it that way is because of the pseudo-communist nations of cuba, north korea, and russia. Those are not communist countries, those are dictatorships. No where in Karl Marx's Communist Manifesto is there a call for a dictator, though Stalinist communism would have us hhink otherwise.

Excuse me, percieve not concieve

Communism as a system cannot work because human beings have an innate desire to build and grow, something communism stifles. We need to be competetive, to have forward progess to thrive. Also, in order to ensure the equality communism promises, a government must be rigid and regulate everything, which eninvitably becomes oppression.
It sounds good, in theory, a society in which everyone is equal, but it's inpractical and impossible to have without oppressing those who desire to grow, which, as I said is human nature.
-
Oh this could get very intersting. This is a subject I love talking about. On this occasion I shall keep most of my opinions to myself other than to say... There are elements to both which I think should be merged in to one! 👍
-
Yes I know I love hearing political debates unless its people say that obama did this and he didn't do this or when a repub and a demo are agrue to the point to their arguments make no sense
-
Exactly, Gadget. Communism is too extreme, so a moderation with the inclusion of certain Democratic principles would make it a far more bearable, and popular system. For example, say we take the US constituition, and merge it's principles of government as qritten in articles 1-3, and combine it with Commumism's principles of total equality. There is a basis for a whole new governmental philosophy.
-
All communist countrys end up a dictatorship. It gives to much power to the man in charge. And makes ite easy to become tyrannical. The concept of everyone being equal under communism cant happen, greed is always I the human heart. A man will abuse it. The founding fathers key to our nation was for us to have a constitution, it keeps people free and makes it hard for the guys in charge to take over. I will not live in a socialistic communist USA. But after and if the US becomes it's worse fear, will their be any other nation that had it's past core principles of freedom? Communism doesn't allow freedom, it turns its state into an extreme police state. I don't think you guys under stand the communist agenda.

I hope this thread stays sensible, I look forward to reading more.

It can. If believers of this can get inro office, and enact their principles and beliefs, then by all means it is very possible.
-
Let me clear one thing up I don't oppose either side but I support both such although both have quirks like in demo many countrys have a demo but they arent running correct why? Because their government is corrupt in communism it is possible to appoint all your adviser and etc.
-
Humans are tribal and self organise into a hierarchy, as such communism is always doomed to fail.
Which is a pity really. -
I would love to see a
Communist county that would be peacful with surrounding countries and negotiate with it's citizen therfore the would be a balance but in case of an economic crash the government can set up sytems quickly without having to go through a congress -
It is a pity. Like I said at first, it is ideal, but pure comunism never has, and never will work. It is an adulterated form similar to the one described by Gadget and I which has any hope at all.
-
I can't remember the name of the man who wrote the book I think it was Karl Marx? Something like that. Anyways the communism he created was good. Everyone wouldve been equal and happy but someone always wanted to be the leader and have a giant thumb pressing down on the ppl. That's the only reason why communism is viewed as a bad thing
-
Thank you. Finally, someone who differentiates between communism and Stalinism.

I have wnated to look into that for a while. Another book to look into about communism/socialism is The Jungle. War of The Worlds also talks about it, but it talks about everything symbolically, so it requires much deeper reading. Then of course, there is the original Communist Manifesto, which straight up gives you what Communism was supposed to be.

Bottom line if we as the people of the united states quit sitting on our asses and letting the government walk all over the constitution, and bill of rights we would be fine.
-
Any form of government that takes an extreme stance is bad for our free will, that includes a communist state, fascist, totalitarian, etc...
Taking pieces of these things, though, and using what is necessary for the better good is not a bad thing.
-
I think we need a third option 💡
