Apparently 24% of repubs think Obama is the one and only Antichrist. Also more than 50% think he's a muslim terrorist (i can't remember the real number). Many many others think he's conspiring to create a government for the entire world which we'll be sold into. Also about 75% think he's a socialist. If anybody wants to see this great display of intelligence I'll get the link later for yall

For a survey to have any merit the populace polled needs to have an operational language in common with the survey. That's political science 101. Since none of those terms have any common meaning the survey is automatically garbage.

If you define socialist as a wealth lawyer tied into the entertainment industry who just made insurance stock go through the roof, sure. Besides, what would the point of a non-socialist government be exactly? Government is supposed to be socialist - there's no reason to tie the economy to the democracy, they serve different interests.

Some people's views here seem to date back to the Red Scare. The word "socialist" is clearly a synonym for Stalinist for a lot of people here. Dismissing a politician as "socialist" is like dismissing a band as "emo". You've got to explain why you dislike their policies- believe it or not- and not just stick some generic label on them. Sure most modern governments in developed countries would be considered "socialist" from the typical conservative American viewpoint.
Basically what I'm saying is that simply calling a politician a socialist is a hollow insult that is meaningless without being backed up -

yep! The truth, and yet some people still consider one side or another as gods of the politics... And some people actually believe the words of politician. I say a politician can never be perfect, they will always at one point or another get his hands dirty (doing illegal stuff). So yes, the phrase above is 100% thruthfull. Team, Obama did what he had to do to save millions of jobs. If gm n chrysler did go under it would have forced many many many more ppl than just the auto workers out of jobs n destroyed our economy. He's not a socialist, he's setting the us up for some of the greatest profits we will ever see and a good twenty years from now everyone will thank him for what he did
