Having guns is a rediculous concept.
Second, your protecting your family by keeping a loaded gun in your house, what happens if a child finds it? Or you think your child is a deadly intruder?I learned to shoot when I was six years old. First hunting trip at 8. My first guns when I was ten, and shortly thereafter, won my first shooting competitions. And my kids were taught at they same early age.
Respect. Responsibility. Education.
6 is way too young anyway. -

Think about it Howard. I know the first time I shot a gun I cried like a little bitch. Now put a gun in a six year olds hands completely supervised, say hunting? They kill a squirrel or something. If they have no reaction they are probably a sociopath. The other 98% of children will be scared shitless and won't have curiosity about mommies gun anymore. That shits too scary!

Has anyone fired a Taurus PT-92? It's pretty much a knockoff beretta. I think I found my new handgun, just wanna hear some reviews.
-
Respect - guns are a potentially deadly weapon. Treat them as such.
Responsibility- You are in possession of a potentially deadly weapon. Don't leave it around the house for your children to find it and play with it. Get a lockbox and keep it there. My pistol only comes out when I'm concealing it for travel or when it's bedtime.
Education - learn the ins and outs of your particular firearm and shoot it often to become comfortable with it. Educate your children in the same manner. Always treat the gun as if its loaded and always be aware of where the muzzle is pointed!!
Do these things and the chance of an accidental shooting is next to zero.

6 is way too young anyway.No. having guns dictates that your children are educated on their uses and dangers. Weaqpons are only as dangerous as the person wielding it. In 40 years of gun handling, and hundreds of thousands of rounds fired, I have yet to see an injury.

Hahaha, brown you can be sarcastic all you want, but it can happen. What if your child is 15? Americans are paranoid. My son is an American, so he will be armed by the time he's 15. I'll think twice about trying to kill my intruder son then.

Natedogg, if that is your real name, it's clear you like to ignore history and the world around you. Since it's clear that there are plenty of people who can't do those "things" as so you so eloquently belittle the 3 R's of gun safety.

But its alot easier to kill with a gun dumb assBan guns, they'll use knives.
Ban knives they'll use sticks.
Ban sticks, they'll use stones.
Then you will have to cut off every bodies hands so they can't make fists.
Eventually, an arms ban will become a true arms ban.But man will STILL find new and inventive ways to kill each other.
Come on...there's gotta be some intellect in there somewhere.
You need proper aim and resolve to pull a trigger. Guns require far more skill than sticks, stones or bare hands.

Why are you so obsessed with killing Brown's son? Do you know who else was obsessed with killing his son? That's right. Surf Nazis. Think about it.

6 is way too young anyway. And if they are old enough to pick it up and ask about it, they are old enough to begin learning. They need to understand why it is in a safe place, and what can happen if they get into there when they should not.
Just like household chemicals. Hiding it from the child only makes the child more curious. Give them a proper education, and they do not need to work things out on on their own to often detrimental results.

In that situation, yes. But someone breaking into my house in the night? I would much prefer they armed with a gun than a knife. I have the advantage in my darkened house, and they can not get close enough to do harm. If we go hand to hand in those close quarters, the knife will provide them far greater advantage.ChainsawCharliewrote:

Andf in that situation, if they have a gun, and i have a gun...they lose. In life. In court and in their attempt to remove me of my valuables.

No. they are not. And THAT is what needs to change. training and education.

Itchy, are you paying attention to the posts in this thread?? One of my first responses was that a person should have to go through a class, explaining in detail, the responsibilities of owning a gun.
I pay plenty of attention to the world around me which is why I own guns in the first place. And if people were educated (in much more than just gun ownership and usage), the world would be a safer place.
