Well I'm more than 3 months newer than Belial, he started in nov/dec., I started playing in march but didn't punch codes till April, so that's a 4-5 months difference at least. And I'm only about 1,000-1,500 mob behind Belial (the rest is henchmen). That's a small difference considering it only takes 1-2 weeks to grow a 1,000 mob now. That means I made up almost the entire time I was behind.JmanX, you seem to think this is possible and standing at 16.6k, I would certainly give you credit for that statement but you started only 3 months after belial and you are still 3k behind him. My estimated of 5k for starting in September is not that far of. By the way, you are welcome to share any tips with the community 😏.

But don't you get that most surely leave pretty soon when they realize they can't compete... Don't we want more people playing? And creating turf to cap? And buying points for development?... Not saying I want it to be easy, just want it to be possible.... And I'm sorry, but punching codes is data entry...NOT gaming!Noobs have always been like this. Was the same when I was new. These discussions have always been around

Totally agree! Well said!Your allowing the investment you placed into the game to effect the evolution of the game. I have no doubt I have the time and the patients to mob up, but for what? There is no tactics here where there could be. I'm beginning to understand your empires are in danger. You suggest vets would leave if you lost turf to these changes. You payed to have the limit raised, not the turf itsself. The bar was raised you don't want to meet it? The earths not gonna get any bigger. We could be allowing several more players to duke it out in an epic battle. Or we can watch numbers grow. I really like this game. I'm just a random guy on here but I haven't felt this passionate about an online game since sony killed harmless games some 10+ years ago. I spent years helping balance games. This could be big or it could fade. It needs to evolve though, your securing your investment not losing it.

I see this really simply, temp codes are necessary to distinguish those that have been in the game a long time and continue to mob up every day from those that (a) just started or (b) have been in the game for a while and don't actively mob up.
Additionally with regard to tactics or lack thereof, if you are a big player then you don't need much thought to take out someone smaller, however if you are smaller and want to take out someone bigger then tactics come into play big style.
I like having huge players in the game being 'untouchable' by most, as it gives us smaller guys something to aspire to!

In real life the people who have been around longer have more power, they are rewarded for having been there first. Newer mobsters need to grow and will get more powerful, but until the older ones leave or get bumped off, they'll stay the biggest. Same here.
You say, I've punched every code so I've done the same amount of work, so I should have the same mob. Well, youve put in for example 6 months of work and have 11k mob, but your still behind the top guy who has 17k. But that guy has been punching code for 12 months. You haven't done the same work. So let's say there is a method where you work the same amount you get to have the same amount the older player does. Once you put in 6 months work, you get the same amount of mob the older player (who started 3 months before you) had when they put in 6 months work. Only you're still behind because by the time you've put in your 6 months, the older player has now put in an additional 3 months work in that time and so theyve done a total of 9 months work.

Unless you remove the entire mob game mechanic and put in a new one it CANNOT be fairly changed to make new mobsters have a fast pass to top mob sizes. So if you don't like it don't play. If you don't want to punch, don't. Many players here have been playing and enjoying themselves without becoming huge mobs. There's always gonna be bigger players, and there's always gonna be smaller ones too.

Agree - but If this was the goal they should maybe have put a mob limit on who can use temp codes - ie they only work if your mob is under say 5k (that way they can used by noobs but the big guys still have to look out of old code).... Punching at all sucks tho! - mobbing-up should be an in-game concept!shaggly razors wrote:
Since march10 . Think that publishing temp codes in hind sight wasn't a great decision , mobs have grown so dramatically and takes a lot of time . I understand the concept was for new players to stand a chance of getting a bigger mob so why not say for your first week your invite local mobsters range is expanded to. X . Also one other point is that older players didn't have it quite so easy at the outset , there were not always code sites and people had to search. Forums for codes etc so took a lot more effort than having it handed on a plate

Games that refuse to evolve to the requirements of their player base, eventually fade and die.
The last game I played was final fantasy xi, it stuck by it's grind fest and saw world of Warcraft come along and take the mmorpg world by storm.
Let's try and find a solution here that benefits new and old alike.

Let's not forget a noob with 10k mob is pretty pointless as it will still take months to arm them all. Anyway you slice it it takes time to gain a true presence in this game. Would you have there be no burn rate on limit purchases too? Every player will have a cycle, some will peak near the top and all that do will take a long time to get there.

It bothers me that new players feel they have the "right" to compete with the older bigger players. I am fairly new, but have been punching codes religiously. My mob is growing and I am getting there slowly. The older players have been around and paid thier dues. Instead of worrying about trying to take on top players why don't you use the mob you have to help out smaller players. Make some friends, have some fun. And if you don't want to punch codes, accept the fact that you will never be one of the top players. It's a game....

I don't think this is about wanting to be at the top, it's more about not needing a massive mob to compete and pushing codes a lot which is not much fun. I appritiate what belial has to say though. I just hope this is a move to a more tactical game rather than say the system that imobster promotes. Camping for months to compete is not fun.

"It bothers me that new players feel they have the "right" to compete with the older bigger players. "
I've heard that line so many times. The gap between newbs and Vets should be there actual ability. being a vet should bring you perks, But it shouldn't put you in a league of your own... Especially in a game like this where many populated areas are completely dominated. The larger mobs crush the weak. Just a little to predictable. I saw most of your mob head east so I took my 1000 mobsters and capped a turf or two. Tomorrow I await retribution. I can see the need for a proper alliance system though ;) some of you vets. Think about the possibilitys, your turf may shrink at first, but it's replaced with several smaller entities you can socialise with, destroy, have fun fights and banter. Right now I look at the big turfs around me and think... Punch codes. Wouldn't it be more fun waiting for moments of opportunity.

Good discussion all - thanks!

I agree man. I just started playing (again). My old iPhone died so I created a new account. But I've only got 1200 mob, but I see myself mobbing up fairly quickly.Btw & for the record. It is NOT impossible for new players to catch up to the top mobsters. But it does require dedication and time.
When I started seriously punching in April, I thought I'd never catch up to the top guys. Many of the players had been playing for 6 months longer than me and had a huge headstart. But I punched every last code I could find, put in the hard work and mobbed up. Now I'm in the top 15 out of everyone in the game. There will always be a few codes that older players got from inactive players before my time, and that will always be an issue, but it's still VERY possible to catch up and get a huge mob even now.
I use to say the same thing (Belial knows this) that I'd never catch up. I was wrong.
