Persephone… You still out there? Because we got us a testimony. Already.
Recently, Terry and Maggie Overson a retired Virginia couple found their checking account hacked and siphoned of 45K between Cash App and PayPal.
PayPal had agreed to make restitution that is… Just up until a few days ago when the Trump administration closed down the CFPB (Consumer Finance Protection Bureau).
Since the threat of having CFPB on their side is gone… Guess what’s happening?
Yeah, they ain’t getting their money back folks. PayPal has just suddenly… ghosted them.
What was that you said Persephone? Situations like this would have recourse at the LOCAL level?
You got a number for them in Virginia? Someone with the resources and muscle who can take on PayPal?
And this is just one story folks. Get ready America.
The lawlessness of the 1800’s Wild West is here again! Ye Haw! Break out the cowboy costumes y’all! Just like the Robber Barrons…. Uhhh Oligarchs want it.
You just can’t make this stuff up

Yes pay pal should be forced to pay for a fraud that, maybe prosecuted for fraud as well…. Wait … who committed the fraud? … try again.

Can anyone help out here with the cognitive dissonance?
Services such as returning lost funds due to theft, were always offered. Know why? Because of the federal government. It wasn’t out of the goodness of their hearts.
More coming across the board. Guaranteed.
You being OK with this is literally playing into DJT’s only truthful statement about shooting one of his supporters on 5th Avenue and not losing die hard support.

It’s not that we are wrong. It’s just that you seem to have a hard time understanding different viewpoints, and you definitely have an agenda. You don’t seem to be a centrist, and you are absolutely playing for your team. It’s not based on reality. It’s based on sensationalism and argument.

Mr. a priori: Did you see that pile of crap Donnie put in your living room?
Trumpist: That’s what you’re calling it. I don’t call it that.
Mr. a priori: But it’s right there in front of you.
Trumpist: Your information is fake.
Mr. a priori: OK, suppose it’s fake. But whatever it is… Do you smell how it’s stinking up your place?
Trumpist: That’s not true. There’s corn in there. Corn doesn’t smell because it’s not digested. And… We’re Making Corn Great Again! You just don’t know anything about facts… because you’re a communist. Probably married to a bureaucrat too. And you have Donnie Derangement Syndrome. You’re brainwashed.
Mr. a priori: Wow. A lot of specific terminology in your head. You think that up all by yourself?
Trumpist: What’s thinking?

Meanwhile Huyundai has pledged over 5 billion to build a steel mill in Louisiana. That area really needs it & those are high paying union jobs.
-
First off as someone who watched not a single MAGA person give Joe Biden an ounce of credit for the MILLIONS of jobs he created, some of it thanks to his infrastructure plan delivered on the black of Donnie‘s failed promise, I would like to say… “awesome” I applaud the endeavor.
(Now, can some of you MAGA guys, be man enough as I am? And say “Thank You President Sleepy Joe?”)
However, let Uncle Stagger, bring some receipts and examine the fine print.
You claim that this plant will be offering “union wages.”
After a quick search out there, there’s no mention of this.
Additionally, having lived in both red and blue states myself, I was pretty certain that a place like Lou-Easy-Anna… (along with many in the south) are fond of an Orwellian euphemism: “Right To Work State.” Yeah. It’s a thang down there.
Translation: Zero Unions
-
Zero enhanced job security
Zero grievance procedures
Zero Collective Bargaining
Lower wages
Lower quality healthcare
Lower safety standards
Lower safety inspections
Lower structured learning
Lower career growthThere’s more to list, but I’ll keep it short.
This being the case, just a few years ago the average steel worker earned $13.53 an hour. That’s only 13 CENTS more an hour than they were making in 1983.
(Remember my little rant a little while back about stagnating salaries as the cost of living rose through the decades, and you no longer can find a single income earner supporting a family?) BINGO we got us a winner.
But let’s not be so negative.
Remember that little living wage calculator we discussed?
Ascension Parish, Louisiana local economy would require a living wage for a single adult with no children to be at roughly $23.70. Of at least six dollars an hour for a single guy.
Looks like we got us a little deficit here?
I sincerely do hope and pray that they will do better.
-
But considering the behavior and track record of the billionaires behind this administration… what we’re looking at here, is exactly what makes an Oligarch giddy.
And let’s put some icing on this foreign manufacturer, planting a flag down in Louisiana.
Guarantee – neither the CEOs nor the company itself will be paying any taxes back into the system of which they are benefiting.
But you can be damn sure that those workers making less than $14 an hour will be taxed. And you can be damn sure that that money will be put right back into that company in the form of what’s called “subsidies.
For the more sophisticated minds… That’s actually called “corporate welfare.”
(The thing that Muskrat is so fond of for his failed businesses.)
But hey… If that town is desperate for jobs? Might not be a bad deal with both husband and wife can work side-by-side dreaming of buying enough eggs.
-
“Learn to code.” That was your side, right?
-
I used to lean Dem among echos of “ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country” That mantra has faded into more of a “until I get what I think I deserve, I’m not going to give much effort”
-
I need to find the Yale study on wages/reward compensation towards task goal improvements. Basically providing more money when things are done better was the least effective incentive

Stagger- this touches on some of your concepts regarding living wages & I don’t disagree with them. If you are not happy with your wage or your employer- is it them or the work? Either way you have the ability to change both yourself https://youtu.be/u6XAPnuFjJc?si=1IYf-lXfPaxqC-cr

That’s a very interesting study to me. I was enlisted, (institutionalized) as a young man. I’m not sure if I was programmed to have a “different” motivation by them, or if it’s built into me at a lower level. Even now, I’m less interested in money than a mission. What I think though, is that these people that are institutionalized as soldiers are not the same as typical employees. I don’t know for sure, but I feel like most people just want fair compensation and wouldn’t do anything without it. So I am skeptical of applying a strategy of non-monetary incentives across the board. Some types of jobs are clearly not for the money.. Police, teaching, military, government… But most of our private economy is built on a foundation of desire for wealth, I think.https://insights.som.yale.edu/insights/when-is-one-motivation-better-than-two

It’s Official: Canada has declared economic ties with the US as OVER.
Importing more produce than ever before from Mexico and S. America. has begun.
They have also strengthened bonds with the EU as never before seen. Shocker! How can they do this?
Now Donnie is getting mad. More tough guy tariffs coming! (Wowzers)
How? Simple. They have declared the obvious - The US is no longer a stable nation, nor leader of the free world.
(Predicted by yours truly a few posts back)
Good job Donnie. Even though Mexico has a more powerful economy than Vlad… Maybe you should get him on the red phone and start trading some rotten potatoes? Oh heck. How about the fat boy over N. Korea? No question he’s got a roaring economy.
DJT’s promises to lower prices is NOT happening folks. He’s a disaster. Hell bent on destroying everything… because that’s what insecure narcissists always do. And frankly, that’s what he always HAS done. So why should he do anything different?
Because you just can’t make this stuff up.

How’s that trade war working out for you guys? Lol man politics are wild. #FDJT. I saw it from LONG LONG ago anyone who follows my Facebook here would be dying laughing at my De-Trump posts. lol he’s a carny, a crook, a cheap ass, he blames others, and he assumes America is going into debt so he acts all power trip crazy annexing and throwing tarrifs like they’re actually gonna work. Smfh.
I rest my political Canadian case boys. It’s clear as day, the man should have stayed in prison.

“Never admit defeat. You win. If you don't win claim they cheated. They rigged it. They stole it. You are the aggrieved but you are the true winner always.
Threaten to sue and/or die. No one will remember the outcome. Just that you fought to defend your honor. This is essential to keep your brand healthy and keep the millions of CHUMPS and LOSER, your BASE.”Some love an abusive relationship. But not Canada 💪

“The truth must be served like a coat, and not thrown in the face like a wet towel.” - M.Twain
Many great beings intuited human nature long before the cigar chomper Herr Freud came along in Vienna.
Buddha, Christ, Adi Shankaracharya, Cicero, Seneca, Aurelius, Shakespeare, Dostoyevsky and even America’s own, Mark Twain. All of them had some good insights.
But damn if Mark didn’t nail, this one. Because it’s a tough one. So, brace yourselves for wet towels of a different kind:
“Starting on the day I take the oath of office, I will rapidly drive prices down and we will Make America Affordable Again. You just watch. And they’ll come down. And they’ll come down fast.”
“When I win, I will immediately bring prices down on day one.”
“We will rapidly defeat inflation. We’re gonna bring your prices down.”
“Vote Trump and your incomes will sore. Your net worth will skyrocket. Your energy costs and grocery prices will come tumbling down.”
-
So in this twist here, we have bold faced lies whipped down from the podium - straight into the faces of his base. The ones he has repeatedly called “losers.”
Thats the real TRUTH here.
Why? Just yesterday while golfing once again on the taxpayer dime Donnie said: “HE COULD CARE LESS IF PRICES WENT UP.
His word ain’t worth shit folks. He could care less about you.
And he’ll keep throwing those wet towels straight into your face as he laughs on the golf course.
But you don’t have to take it. Admitting you were wrong, is an act of virtue.

The majority will never admit to being wrong about him and also would never stop praising him with cult vibes. Everything you’ve said is absolutely correct Stagger Lee but people with delusion will still find a way to defend Trumps illusion. No matter how many facts you bring to the table the majority will defend him like he’s their savior.

But there are many well-meaning Americans who were on the fence and fell for his false promises. (Not the evil fans of red, white, and black)
We’ve been here before. And I’m forever a bit of an optimist and still believe that Lincoln’s call to invoke the better angels of our nature to prevail, is still a possibility.
Grant it- it’s going to be uphill. And there’s going to be a lot of drama in the next few years. But we shall see. Already we have many in red states screaming in town hall meetings. ✌️
