Best decade for music?
Forums › General Discussion › Best decade for music?-
60’s were great, I love 80’s music. 70’s not so great. The 90’s should be removed from history, full of shite. 😂
-
Are you kidding me!? 72-74 there were some masterpieces!
-
This decade. I’ve said this before; if you take 15 minutes of digging on Spotify, you will find exponentially better talent.

Quality and options available, perhaps. Talent and musical ability- not even close. Today’s Pro Tools and auto Tune can make Fran Drescher sound like Pavorotti or whatever that tenors name was.
The 60’s has more talented musicians who knew, understood music as well as incredible talent with their respective instruments.

I can tell you haven’t been on Spotify then. I’m not talking about rap. I’m talking about authentic jam sessions of all genres. No one who digs on Spotify disagrees.🧬𝐓𝐎𝐌'S🧬Daddy wrote:

You’re talking to someone who reached the library cap of amount of songs I can save 😂 and I’m also very picky about music. None of those artists come close to the talent that’s present these days man. I actually feel bad for people who think music peaked. They’re really missing out. Come jam with me in the discord if you want to hear what Spotify has to offer.

I have to agree with perse and long live the 60s. I can find good music in every decade but the last two decades blow. Can't forget about the 90s and the short lived gunge area. Nirvana and all of that killer shit. Tom Spotify is definitely the best music app out there and is a great place to find new music
-
None. I think all decades hold gems that helped people during those times, including today. As time passes though what’s old becomes less relevant. For example I rarely enjoy a song before the 60s. They all seem so cliché and simple in my opinion. Even though I wish times were more simple🤦🏽♂️
-
I don’t care about the Spotify app. I’m just saying the content is a lot better than 50’s and 60’s music, no competition. The Penguins are good, sure. But there’s thousands of artists no one has heard of who master what the 60’s couldn’t.
-
The reason older music is less relevant for younger people, is the same reason newer music is less relevant for older people.

Guess you’re not a 90s kid then.

99, so can’t really consider myself one, but technically lol
-
Don’t shit on the 90’s.
Rage Against The Machine, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Jane’s Addiction - all released great albums in the decade. -
Every single person here is listing music that is over played on different radio stations 24/7. Radio. R a d i o. Nothing against these artists or your tastes, but seriously, it’d do you well to do some more digging.

The related music that plays after my songs are all mainstream suggestions. How do you get to the good stuff? -
Here’s how to dig on Spotify and find better music than you already know.
You can literally look up other people’s playlists that they have public. Some people think that’s weird, but it’s not, that’s what it’s FOR. If you feel like working out, look up “beast mode playlist” or whatever the hell you want. If you want to study, look up “study time playlist”. There will be literally hundreds of playlists people made with their own little vibe. Find the one you like the most, pick your favorite songs, build a playlist from that and Spotify will suggest you similar.
-
I’ll one up you, I have 2 free spots on Spotify premium family plan. I can let you hop on that if you want. I have thousands of underground artists saved. I could point you in the right direction. Whether it’s indie rock or techno - whatever it is, Spotify has it, and I promise you’ll love it.
-
I’ve noticed that the best of sounds come from people with 50k listens or less. There is a tremendous amount of talent out there.
I take it to the next level. I literally organize my life into playlists 😂
Most of it is indie rock because I like it the most, but each chapter has about 100 songs. I start a new chapter every 3 months when I travel.

If I upgrade my free account to a premium family account, will the kids be able to keep the playlists they’ve created on their own free accounts? They’ve been on my back to do it for ages, but no-one wanted to risk losing the music they’ve saved- so we never did. I don’t have any playlists, so couldn’t care less😂I’ll one up you, I have 2 free spots on Spotify premium family plan. I can let you hop on that if you want. Yes because you can add their accounts they’ve already made onto the family plan.

As a huge music fan here and someone who has AirPods in allll day at work listening to music, can collaborate that Spotify is the mother fucking truth. No bullshit everything Tom said is legit. I went premium and never looked back. I’m grateful for Spotify honestly I’ve found some astoundingly good shit on there.
