CA VOTERS LEGALIZE POT?
Forums › General Discussion › CA VOTERS LEGALIZE POT?-
When they announced a NO vote, here in Vancouver you could hear the growers cheer! 2 billion a year minimum it puts in our economy, that's some serious cake. Compared to cigarettes and alcohol, marijuana is like eating a salad instead of a glass filled burger. Hate it or loveit, legal or illegal, it's here to stay. So why not try and regulate it and put some dealers out of business and focus the saved cash on real drugs(meth, coke, heroin, ghb, ecstasy...etc)

What he said! I'll be the first to admit there isn't much non medical. Yet Part of the reason most people under 18 seem addicted well it should be very clear no? They seek the respect from class mates and friends. Why you ask, well weed is illegal for 1 and most places hard to get so if u do it u "feel" cool.. I personaly smoke on the daily. Not to feel cool not to impress anyone. It just makes me feel so much better. Being 22 yea I'm young I have bad pains after a long day of work.Mystery wrote:

For years doctors gave me norcotics and to be honest I acted worse! I was on percocet at one point and noticed as I took them I'd get a type of roid rage feelin and have an even worse temper then I already have. I'd be happy one min then be so depressed!.I remember one time I was at a bar with my ex an picked a fight with a group of guys for lookin at my girl.
So tell me this man made drugs (don't know what's in it) or something made by mother nature?
Weed is a fruit to be honest. Simple as grow, pick and dry out.. -
OK caffeine can cause accidents. My wife just called me. Some guy on the freeway spilled his coffee and rear ended her. Shes a little sore and no major damage to car.

not for nothing but weed doesnt affect me like this guy stated. I could smoke and do my daily routine without a problem. I smoke and still work on cars capable of 150+mph withen only a few seconds. Safety is a must. I've never had a problem that was my blame. It's the attention seekers that ruin weed for everyone else. Like this dude said weed isn't addicting nor possible to over dose.!VW TDI🌇🌊3 wrote:

Wohoo, although I don't really like cookies- I do however accept Don points. :)
And another thing- you guys in California had a really great chance with this vote, it really could have ended up being a US Amsterdam. A shame really. Ah well- at least I'm close to Amsterdam. May pop over again.

Legalizing it wasn't going to save California because it would have messed up the supply and demand. If it's legal, too many people would think "everyone I know smokes, I'm going to grow and sell." supply goes up, prices drop, less tax money. It might help, but it's not going to generate 20 billion dollars

These were less than one tenth of the COMMON side effects of sumatrptan. Sounds lovely. I rest my caseSide effects commonly affect less than 1% of any given set of users.

Marijuana side effects include physical problems like breathing difficulties and deteriorating physical abilities. Despite a popular belief, marijuana side effects speed up the heart, blood and breathing rate. The body is taxed more and this speeds up the aging process just like methamphetamines do. The marijuana side effects from this extra exertion on the body include a higher risk for lung cancer, heart attacks and strokes.
Marijuana side effects also wreak havoc on the brain when the drug is used habitually. The natural chemical balance of the brain is disrupted affecting the pleasure centers and regulatory systems. The ability to learn, remember and adapt quickly to changes is impaired by marijuana use. Depression often occurs with marijuana usage, which feeds into the cycle of more drug use to treat the pain created by drug use. This cycle of addiction is very powerful and users soon find that they cannot stop using the drug even if they want to.

And there are the mental effects marijuana can have-paranoia, depression, isolationism, anxiety...
And thc is a drug that you can easily build up a tolerance for. The more habitually you smoke, the more you need to smoke to get that same "high". Increased smoking leads to an increased risk of lung cancer.
-
It amazes me what people believe. Did you seiously just compare the effects of weed on the body to meth? I've seen first hand what meth can do. You're very wrong sir. As for drepressiom anxiety paranoia and all those other things...I know more people that don't smoke weed with all those things then with people who smoke it. In fact I know people with all those problems and weed helped them...certain people will react differently to everything. Most people don't react like that

That's bullshit. I've being smoking it for 12 years now and I get just as stoned now with the same amount as I did in the first year, for example- I just smoked 2 joints with some mates here so far and I'm stoned as a badgers arse. I could rephrase this better but I'm not bothered hahaAnd there are the mental effects marijuana can have-paranoia, depression, isolationism, anxiety...

Just because something is a plant/weed doesn't make it safe to ingest. Oleander is a plant/tree with pretty flowers. Eat it & it will kill you.
I've never experienced any of those side effects from Sumatriptan. If they did legalize weed, it would have most of the same warnings as practically every other medication out there. (See CC's list above.)

It is what it is. No worse then anything else out there. People will smoke it regardless. The issue isn't whether or not to make it legal to the point of cigarettes. Just make it like booze.
-
There are plenty of leisure activities people can do that don't involve doing drugs.
I find it interesting that people think others cannot be creative without being on drugs. The law would not be retroactive - you can't undo what was already done; perhaps some music in the future wouldn't be written because someone didn't get high. Besides, do you have absolute proof that the creativity the artists you mention having from being high, only came from pot & no additional drugs?
-
No Kozy, I have not smoked it myself, nor am I interested in trying it. That's not simply because I dislike smoking either.

That is correct, but the most common form of dosing is through smoking.

No. You can't smoke and drive. In Canada you can't buy it in corner stores. You can't smoke in public. You cant smoke at work. There's more then just age restrictions to booze man.Kozy wrote:

And on a related note, did you know that gov't tests in the 60's determined that smoking through tobacco through a water pipe can reduce carcinogens by up to 60%
-
I smoked for about 8 years..started in 7th grade and recently quit..I was honor roll thru my Sr year in HS, graduated with honors and a 3.98gpa...Pot had ABSOLUTELY zero side affects on me except selective short term memory..I could never remember anything my gf told me...Only reason I quit is bc I was tired of not working a REAL job bc of drug testing, so I voted yes..Prop19 failed bc of fear mongering among older conservatives and will surely be back on the ballot as early as 2012's...Sure it wouldn't of changed the economy overnight, but the long term benefits would definitely outweigh the "negative consequences" anyone can give me..
Pot is a plant that grows in the ground
If God didn't smoke it, it wouldn't be around
So to everyone preaching how it's wrong to try
Go fuck yourself, I'ma go get HIGH!😲 -

I could walk out into my backyard right now and picket at least a pound of castor beans. And the Castor oil plant, according to the 2007 edition of the Guinness Book of World Records, is the most poisonous plant in the world.
