There are a lot of medications that have harmful side effects. That's why you must have a prescription to take them. In fact, without them I'd be dead right now. As for OTC meds, Tylenol will destroy your liver if you abuse it. As Jim said, that's why it's a bad idea to abuse any drug. However, Tylenol reduces fever, & helps (some people anyway) with headaches; without causing them to be impaired. Does pot reduce fever & get rid of headaches?Mystery wrote:
no but it is a reason to illegalize cafeine alcohol tyllenol amd the numerous other drugs that cause more harm. But that will never happen because bog coorperations run those things amd those big cooperations donate to poloticians which is the only differenceSaying that it should be legalized because it's not as harmful as alcohol is not a reason to legalize it.

it doesn't reduce fevers but it does get rid of headaches. That's one reason in Ca you can get it perscibed to you.

Name one good, non-medical, reason it should be legal. -
Weed shouldnt be illegal.
1. Because a drug is chemically made, and weed is grown its a erb.
2.No one overdoses on it.
3. Cancer patients sometimes ARE PRESCRIBE BY DOCTORS weed to smoke. My grandfather had lung cancer and his doctor prescribed it for him.
CALI VOTE YES FOR WEED!

Peyote is "natural" too; I suppose that should be legalized as well?
-
Opium is "natural" too.
Caffeine doesn't "impair" you in the same way. I'd rather drive next to someone that had coffee than had pot!
In your case, Belial, pot would have been prescribed to you. If a doctor thinks it can help you then I have no issues with it. But for people that just want to get high because they like the feeling, that's different. If they have to do that to escape their problems, then they are running away, rather than dealing with their problems. Running away won't solve anything.
-
I wouldn't know but I thought it was already legal for medical use. Also is caffeine really that bad.
-
Say no to legalisation of ganja, if the government got there hands on it we would only get 2 gram for an eighth after tax lol
-
You can "overdose" on pot. You have to work at it and the results are not pretty. Don't try it. As for medical use, if there are benefits that only pot cam provide, then pack the thc into a pill and prescribe it like any other drug. Our pharmacology system has worked well for along time on everything else. Pot doesn't need to be a special case.

with a practical solution. They just need to be aware those problems will be right there waiting for them. -
There is nothing wrong with takimg am escape for a while. Life sucks and I feel people have the right to deal with that fact anyway necessary providing they aren't hurting others in the process

Everyone debating in this forum needs to watch the doc "the war on the war on drugs". Then resume this debate afterwards.

Bring back prohibition sheeple!!!
-
So the argument against pot is that other drugs are bad? Nice argument.

Much water it can poison you. This argument us getting old. Water can poison yu if you drink too much. Should it he illegal? Jenkum is a drug that is basically fermented human feces it's ridiculously bad. Should we ban pooping? The double down could kill you. Should it be illegal. I'd legalize weed before I legalized double Downs. -
Hmmm my wife just told me jenkum was reveiled to be a hoax...but you get my point

Your right... But everyone has there own opinion tho, no one has ever died or became retarded from smoking weed, that's ture facts, all this other stuff about it being a problem is just talk, it's only a problem cuz it's illegal and in such high demand, liquor kills 10,000 brain cells every time you take a shot of it, so the long term effects are obvious, no creditable anybody has every really proven any real side effects from smoking weed, it all theory.how. Pot doesn't cause liver failure or any major medical problem. It's been shown as a matter of fact to be a treatment to many diseases. It doesn't impair reflexes as much as alcohol does. Amd it doesn't cause you to fully lose inhibitions. The evidence just isn't there to say that it could cause as much harm

If it passes, more idiots will start putting 420 in their turf wars name, and running around the streets saying "420, Man!". Shows real intelligence, there.

⬆⬆420???

I have a problem because I don't like having people in altered states of mind. I have a problem with alohol too.
The fact is, each drug is dangerous.
Seriously though, I would like my skin to not turn yellow -
Glaucoma - weed slows the spread of glaucoma. This is one example. Look up more.
For the people who say pot is bad have you ever tried it? Personally I have done some really stupid things drunk but not stoned.
As for the person who says they would rather drive beside someone who's got caffeine ripping through their veins instead of a person high on weed... I disagree. Caffeine for me personally is dangerous. I lose my attention span and lose patience. When someone drives stoned they usually obey every traffic law to a T. They are slightly paranoid making them the best drivers on the road. For some people it makes them focused and therefore more alert. I know this is somewhat hard to believe but it's true. But then again you shouldn't be driving on any substance.
-
Oh and it's impossible to overdose on weed. You either smoke yourself sober which for some of you will again be hard to believe or you get sleepy and pass out. Some people throw up. But drinking until you throw up is worse. Alcohol poisoning. Hang over. Blah blah blah. Usually when people "overdose" on weed (get the spins) is because they were drinking and mixed.

You know what is definitely damaging to people's health? The various contaminants that commercial growers have begun to add to their weed in order to increase the weight. This is very likely a result of huge demand* and low supply due to regular raids by police. If it was a regulated market people could at least be relatively sure of what's in the weed, not to mention benefits to the economy.
*demand not just from "people wanting to escape" (they'll find a way to do that regardless), but mostly from people who just want to relax and enjoy themselves, like most drinkers, and they should all have the right to do that.

I just want to note, in real life I'm pre-glaucomic. been treated for the past 7 years or so. smoking weed really does help neutralize inner ocular pressure. I equate my minimal degeneration to my controlling it naturally. it would be nice to obtain legally and for some kind of rx coverage.

I agree with you. Being sober is the best thing there is. Your skin might turn yellow from sucking in the pollution in LA everyday. (not sure where you are from, just saying), also processed meat causes cancer too. There are direct links to it. It has recently been classified as unfit for human consumption. But people still eat it. Also dasani spent 50 mil on advertising in the UK. It was later classified as unfit for human consumption. This was a few years ago. Not sure if it's sold in the uk now or not. What about soda? Look how many obese kids there are from improper diet. Eat to much protein and you could get protein poisoning. Everything in life is bad for you if done to much. Moderation is key.I have a problem because I don't like having people in altered states of mind. I have a problem with alohol too.
