So when the guy who breaks into your home while you sleep or when you walk in from work is stood there in front of you are you going to say " give me 5 mins buddy let me get the gun out of the safe"So if someone breaks in your house while your sleeping your going to pull it from under your pillow.
I don't keep mine under my pillow but I do keep it within arms reach, ankle holsters are for the backup pistol the primary pistol should be on the hip or a shoulder holster, if you can afford a kid you should be able to afford a fingerprint access gun safe (it's fast and just as effective as a normal safe)
There is no argument against guns unless your a farmer or hunter or so on. But average joe doesn't need a gun.

You can pick knives up in the UK that's why knife crime over here is through the roof.Or you could teach them that guns are not toys, and are very dangerous. I know knives are being controlled in the UK, so let's keep this in the U.S. Knives are perfectly legal. They are just as lethal as guns. Yet kids know to not play with knives. How is this possible? Through education and learning the proper use of said tool. Not through fear. To fear the possibilities of a gun and not other day household items is illogical. I have a one year old. I don't keep the gun locked in a safe where it is not accessible for that one time possibility. Just the same way I don't lock up knives, pens, keys, the remote control with batteries in it.
If there was a gun store on every corner then we would have the same problems with guns.
Lot of fooked up pups out there scary to think if they had easy access to guns -

Glock 17, 19 ,22, and 30. Smith & wesson shield 9mm. Springfield xd

Mr Shush, the point is murder is illegal. People who want to murder are going to do it no matter what tool is used and no matter what laws are in place to regulate tools. Whenever these laws that are created to control access or use of items, drugs, guns, cars you name it, criminals will still find away to use it in a criminal manner. Houston has a lower murder and crime by gun rate per the FBIs data, than Chicago. What is the difference? The laws. Chicago regulates guns, the law abiding citizens comply. Criminals don't. In Houston the laws are much more relaxed, and the murder rate has dropped, since conceal carry was legalized in the 90s.

Why are the citizens of the United Kingdom so willing to surrender their individual liberties to the government? Why would you willingly surrender an efficient tool of self defense? Why are citizens of the UK freaked out about a inanimate object?

Isn't there some European country with extremely high levels of gun ownership and like zero crime? I might just be tripping balls. But in theory this could work. Kinda like the Cold War, you shoot at me, everyone shoots at you.

Carried a walther p99 9mm for years. Switched to a kahr cw9 9mm for about 2 years after that. Currently carry a Springfield xdm 3.8 9mm.
Because why? Same reason I buy fire extinguishers alarm systems and insurance policies... I might need it.

A gun is much like a car. If your in control and paying attention to all conditions around you nothing goes wrong. If you don't pay attention and play with it carelessly or show off with it you could kill someone. I don't think we will be getting rid of cars anytime soon and they'll let any bonehead have a drivers license. 😉 I like my PPS and 23 to answer original question.

So my question is why do you want a gun ? If your not going to use it for what it was designed for (killing) then what's the point.
Is it a grown mans way of feeling powerful when he as it in his hand ? I don't no. But what I do know is there not toys. If you like them get replicas -

I can only ever think of one school that got shot up in the UK how many in the U.S. How many nuts who I wouldn't give a pen knife are running round your streets with guns because there so easy to get
There is no argument I can't see where your argument is. You get guns to walk round your houses thinking you are the big man . Crazy

Yeah I think guns are cool and all but there's just no nees for there to be so many in civilian hands, especially not with all the shootings that go on over there.
Last year there was a mass shooting for nearly every day of the year.I just don't get why people refuse the idea of having to go through some tests before getting a gun, unless you're crazy you can still get them and as an added bonus you are significantly less likely to be shot at school or in a movie theatre...what's the harm?
Anyway here in the UK about all youll get is air pistols. Which are illegal.
I have no idea why, I have an air rifle myself could probably kill a small deer with it...but an air pistol is illegal?
Sure they're concealable but I could sit in a bush 100 or so yards away with my rifle and shoot people in the face so does it matter...

The Soviet Union openly admitted that the biggest reason an invasion of the US would never work is because the citizens are armed.

Owning a gun is a personal choice. It's not about ego, or false sense of power. If you like them, buy them it your own choice. If you don't like them that's fine too, but don't go around telling other people are wrong.

Maybe he's playing devils advocate and using us to try and justify buying a gun himself, I hear things are pretty dangerous in Europe right now what with the muslim invasion going on.

Ruger LC9 with laser site built into the pistols grip. Small but not too small that its hard to control, perfect for concealed carry.

Lol this is mad how you guys try to justify it.
Protection from what . Fook me how rough is the U.S. ? How many times has somebody come through your front door Deicide.
Yer it happens but the odds of it happening are less than someone in the household having a serious accident with the gun. -
Seems as though the UK should ban all sharp objects. I hear they're quite dangerous.
-
You seem more afraid of guns than anything, Mr,Shush. Have you ever handled one yourself?
-
Protection from the people that have guns and knives that shouldn't. I can kill someone with a paper clip but if your raping my wife or smothering my children I'd rather have my gun because he has his.
Laws don't mean anything to criminals.
-
I like when people mention knife crime in the UK.
Would you rather someone came at you with a gun or a knife when you had no weapon to defend yourself?
'Cause I don't know what kind of fool would opt for the assailant having a gun when you at least have a chance against someone with a knife.
I know a woman who was stabbed like 30 times and is fine today. Show me a single person who got shot 30 times and can stand on their own two feet.
It's an irrelevant comparison, guns are more dangerous and only have one purpose, to greatly injure. Knives have many purposes.
If you want to compare knives to guns on the basis that both are damgerous then I guess cars should be banned since they're possibly more dangerous than both?
The difference with a car is you have to be extensively tested before you can use one legally.

There's classes to learn defense for guns, it's like with knives but people think guns are scary because that thy make noise, statistically getting shot by an arrow is more likely to kill you than a bullet.
I have knives, arrows, and bullets and I treat them all the same, don't point the arrow at what you don't want dead, don't point a bullet at what you don't want dead, don't point a knife at what you don't want dead. It's all the same principle
