Oil production
Forums › General Discussion › Oil production-
Just saw a report on the news that America is 3rd on the list of world oil producers. And, if you combine texas with North Dakota, they would be the 5th largest oil producing country in the world! Also, within 2-3 years America is predicted to be the largest oil producing country in the world! At this rate I predict oil to hit $50 a barrel by 2020. Agree?
-
What is the price of oil per barrel now?
-
Right around $100. Don't have exact number in front of me.
-
It is possible then
-
Will there even still be oil then? It's kinda nonrenewable... Are people inserting landfill from where they mine the petroleum and stuff? That may allow sufficient pressure to make more oil a little faster. Lol Texas and oil. Never stay at a hotel near an oil well. It's ridiculous.
-
I believe there are still hug oil deposits, but with environmental concerns and cost of getting the oil in certain places, it's not currently doable
-
Oil will never run out, as time goes by more oil is being made through the many years. It just becomes a situation where you have to spend more to find where it is. Oil will never go down it profit nobody with low oil prices
-
Only of the US would use their own oil, and not import it from the Middle East...
-
I doubt we see any decline in the price of our petroleum products.

The CEO is answerable to the share holders who want an increased share price and increased dividends. That's done by increasing profit and lowering prices wont do that. So prices won't come down or the CEO will find himself out a job.I doubt we see any decline in the price of our petroleum products.

America trade using oil. Also China and Russia have been thinking about stopping using American currency to trade which inturn will eventually make the Dollar worthless so if it turns out like the German currency crisis then it could very well hit $1,000,000 a barrel purely because the currency is worthless.

Due to inflation, future wars and other unpredictables I think that by the year 2020 a price of oil per barrel will be around $130-$140 range. There's a pipe line coming from Canada and Mexico has plenty of oil to sell. Think 'Mericas plan is to use every one else's resources before we use ours. ;-)

So you're saying that we use less than or equal to the number of animals(oil) each day? You're delusional. We use way more dead animals than are being produced.snorticles wrote:

Naw speculation controls oil prices. Has nothing to do with the norm in economics. So on that note, I'd wager $150 a barrel.

I'm guessing it takes a large number of dead plants and animals in one spot at one instance in time to make an oil deposit. Something like an asteroid collision or whatnot. Your dead pets in the backyard will never be enough to fuel your gas guzzler.
-
Geez I'm sorry for causing such a fuss with my comment. Also, nobody is ignorant for being brainwashed. They're given information that they've studied to lessen their ignorance; it's not their fault that it's bs.
-
Incorrect, oil isn't a deposit. It's a liquid, so it disperses like water along a table in the soil. So anyplace there is a dip in the bedrock layer, you can pretty much find oil.
-
I take back my defense towards the morons on here. I know I can't win an argument with anyone no matter how good my manners are. So here's a basic example of elementary studies that I've been taught since forever (I'm not being literal btw). http://www.eschooltoday.com/energy/non-renewable-energy/what-is-non-renewable-energy.html
Oil is totally a primary example of a nonrenewable resource. I have more advanced links for those in denial (assuming you're literate). I have yet to find a (credible) source that says oil is, in fact, renewable just because animals are always dying and the fact that oil today is pretty much from dinosaurs means nothing. Anyone else notice that humans have only used oil for power for about a century? Anyone else notice we're estimated to run out sometime in the next century??
Oh but yeah, that global warming thing is total nonsense. What's a greenhouse effect? Idk what China is. Is pollution a vegetable?Ok now I'm less angry. I'm ready to be rational and polite again.
