I don't have to move to the state where the mc Donald's is? I can work there from my home or what? I'm legitimately interested in this now because I'm making $12 an hour as a service technician I'd love to get paid $16 an hour to flip burgers haha.

The McDonald is more for a spouse in a low paying job. All of the oilfield jobs I listed don't require you to move. If you work for the company I do, they will pay the airfare to and from ND and put u up with housing. As for west Texas, we get $175 each way for travel. 99% of the time I have housing on location. (This is the first rig I've ever been on where I have to stay in a hotel they got me and drive the 40 miles to the rig. But I get paid $40 more so it's ok)

And from all the excuses I've heard, most of y'all are probably best in your dead end job you hate. I don't most have the mentality for oilfield work. It's long hard work in the elements way out in the middle of nowhere. There aren't any sick days. If you're sick, tough. If it's 110 or 10 outside, you're in it. There are no latte breaks. I eat lunch in 1 hand and work with the other. I've missed both daughters birthdays, thanksgiving, Christmas, deaths and a lot more. But when I go home to 10k in my account and my kids living a good life, it's worth it.

Let's see, $125,000 a year and earlier you said you had a $15,000 tax liability. Your effective tax rate is a measly fucking 12%?!? And you're complaining? Do you have the world's best accountant or are you just completely full of shit? Self employment tax alone is 15%.When the oilfield crashes, I'll go back home and use the wealth that I've acquired doing this to open my own truck shop. Or go back to welding, roofing, or whatever I think makes the most money. I figure there's still another 5-10 years left in this boom. I'm making 125k a year now. Or as you suggested, I could go home and make 50k. Only thing I owe money on is her SUV and a camper I bought. I'll be debt free by the end of this year. Or I could go back to putting clutches and engines in Mack trucks and beat my body up more. But either way, I'll still be making a lot of money.

My jobs far from being dead end. I'm supposed to be getting a $5 raise in a month or so and being promoted to a mechanic. There's still plenty of area to improve I work for Dynamic industries, which as an oilfield worker I'm sure you've heard of them. Plus this isn't even a career this is to help me pay for my college. I'm just giving you logical thought, not excuses. And from all the excuses I've heard, most of y'all are probably best in your dead end job you hate. I don't most have the mentality for oilfield work. I have a huge amount of write offs. I'm a 1099 worker so I get to write off pretty much everything. My older sister and her husband are both CPAs and do my taxes. My corporation had revenues of 128k last year. I honestly don't know what all I wrote off, but they told me I owed 14,895 and that's the check I sent. Maybe you need better accountants? And I'm set up as a C corp so I pay myself $400 a week to keep my child support low. So I wrote a 15k check, but got 3k back for me :-)

To dark:
My comments weren't directed to you personally. Mechanic is a great paying job and can be a career. I thought I would stay a crane/diesel mechanic for the rest of my life till I found this. -

Well, then you're not making $125,000 a year. Business revenues and business income are not the same thing. And now you admit that you hide income so your own child can't share in your supposed prosperity? Jesus Christ, you're a fucking hot mess. My children so share in the prosperity, just not at my exwifes house. As far as the taxes go, it's the same as GE. I actually went and purchased a truck so my taxable income would drop. All within the law.

It's not hiding income. That's a corporate account. I can't just pull money out. It has to be for business purposes. Like buying the CEO a new company truck :-)

Your GF is gaming the system, period. And you're standing by and letting it happen. So you're as culpable as she is.My gf is still inside the bounds of the law. Is it shady, yes. But still inside the law. No worse than taking every single tax deduction possible. She doesn't own an SUV, I do. As far as the clothes and purses go, do u report to the IRS every time you buy your mom a gift? File anything on the Christmas gifts you have? All I've heard so far is bullshit excuses for failure.
And what excuses for failure? As I said I have a job. But if people don't do shit the way you did then they're fuckin up right? Besides I don't wanna live somewhere filled with ignorant bigoted assholes. There's something to be said for quality of life and the environment one lives in.Amen. Don't want to be around dumbasses, so I'll stay here in Texas.

Grimm, how exactly is she gaming the system again....?

My truck is in my corporate name. Does the CEO of Halliburton or GE pay taxes on company vehicles? No. Do you understand what a corporation is?
-
And somebody please explain how my gf is cheating the system? The SUV is in my name. Not hers. She has $0 in her checking account and no assets other than her house. Where is she cheating?
-
Does she live with you captain moneybags?
-
And the way I have my CORPORATION set up, I can't pull money out of that account for personal use. Technically, it's not mine. Its not an asset of mine no more than the company vehicle is. There are all kinds of thing that the CORPORATION can pay for that is 100% legal. If I were to pull money out for personal use, I think that's embezzling. There is a strict seperation of CORPORATE money and personal.

No. She owns her own home and they knew that when she was approved.

Now, out of the people I just listed, there isn't a SINGLE one of them that can't work. They choose not to. There's not a thing in the world wrong with any of them. 2 of them actually work for cash under the table from a friend of mine. If u look at my GF, she owns her own home, has a 45k SUV in the driveway, coach purse and all name brand clothes. Yet she still gets SNAP and Medicare for the kids. And, smokes about half an ounce of weed a week. Now, that really seem fair to you?Sounds like playing the system to me.
-
Still within the rules of the system. I personally believe the system should be changed.

And Grimm, this just came across the news wire. You know, since you were talking about people leaving Texas and how bad it is here....
Toyota may be moving its North American headquarters from California to Texas. (Source: CNN)
-
(RNN) - Toyota Motor Company announced their North American headquarters will move to Plano, TX, near Dallas.Bloomberg reported Texas Gov. Rick Perry offered the company lower taxes and fewer regulations to encourage it to leave Torrance, CA.
Toyota has not officially confirmed the move, but officials invited employees to a webcast Monday for an announcement.
The new headquarters will bring sales, marketing, advertising, manufacturing and other departments under one roof. Many of these divisions are in different cities across the U.S., according to Reuters.
Toyota began operating in California in 1957.

To all 👆 people relocating to Texas, welcome to lower taxes, better schools and less government intrusion. Please make sure you stop at one of our friendly gun check points. If you don't have a gun, we will be glad to supply you with one :-)

Yep which leads back around to the point of you don't know what you're talking about trying to speak on job markets outside of good ol Texas. So then there's yet even more jobs leaving the state. And yes of course they'll save money. Operating expenses will be less. Cost of living is less. You have no clue what it's like to struggle anywhere outside your own state. Yet you're talking about people not working like you know what it's like. Betcha half of the plant employees will be out of their jobs thanks to the relocation. But hey your plan is people should just completely uproot their families and entire lives to work at mcdonalds. Sounds like a perfect solution. Then when McDonald's management decides to cut some employees or the jobs dry up then what? What's Joe Schmoe supposed to do then? Move somewhere else? Just migrate across the country like gypsies? Mack for president! He's got all the answers!
-
If I worked for Toyota I think id start looking at housing around Plano. Still not sure how Toyota coming here means people are leaving Texas though :-/
-
If the cost of living is lower, operating costs are lower, the government is more hands off, the job and housing market is lower, then I believe I'd follow my job to Texas. You made great points! Maybe Texas should hire you as there business director!
-
Wow Grimm. Such a hate filled little man aren't ya? Once again, when a point is made that liberals can't stand, name calling comes out. Gratz!

I'm wondering if this means you will be leaving California over what the Clipper's owner was recently recorded spouting from his ignorant, bigoted mouth.
Texas, North Dakota, the Midwest, wherever don't hold a monopoly on ignorant bigots, I've encountered them everywhere I've been.

Wanna be a mixed family and live in Texas? Forget about it.༺☠Ꮹཞ༏ཀ☠༻ wrote:
