How do we encourage new players to stay?
Forums › General Discussion › How do we encourage new players to stay?-
How about we make a new 1up thread and someone just posts something once or twice a day to keep it on the first page. In the original post, the poster could say something like "new players are recommended to post!" When I was a noob 1UP was the best thread around. When we see a noob post in the new 1up thread, everyone could immediately shower them with helpful PM's.

Perhaps we can have several servers?

And the reason for this is what??Perhaps we can have several servers?

To encourage new players. If you are surrounded by level 100 people, it gets somewhat difficult to a degree, where a new game can on a different server, keeping this one, can get everyone a fresh start and an opportunity to be more successful. Just a suggestion that i think would be great as it is common in many other games, which have been a success.

^ That's been suggested before but doesn't really make sense in this game. After level 50, level is irrelevant. "Repopulating the world" enough for income & gameplay would be quite a pain. I also can't imagine most people that already play would have the time or inclination to start a 2nd account on a different server. I seriously can't imagine punching codes for 2 accounts. 😳

Also they virtually tried that with GS, all those missing turf made it a very empty and boring place IMO. Amen brother! I also share the same way of thinking.I blame society. For some of us, learning to take a hit on the chin was the attitude adjustment many of us needed. It taught some of us how to be humble and others how to fight back.
Now, we live in an age where every child is told that they can be whatever they want. This simply is not true. Yet, every child gets a ribbon for "participating" rather than a second place trophy out of fear that it will hurt their self-esteem.
If players are so incredibly sensitive to posting a comment in a forum out of fear, then maybe a war game is not a good fit for them. Maybe they should take their "participation" ribbon and go on to the next ap.
Just sayin'

Try to protect new players up to a certain level so fights don't end up like the Aztecs vs the spanish

Hey watch the references to the Spanish we were bringing civilization to the locals even if we had to destroy them! Also I had a great grandfather who was Aztec! 😱😱😱😳

Disease played the pivotal roll in that if I'm not wrong? Their seclusion to so many diseases made the newly brought diseases devastating.‡℟ɸɱⱥɲ☧ɭɇɠɩɸɳ‡ wrote:

Ok we got off topic there.. So we all agree the older players should not give any deadly diseases to the new layers? Agreed? What else can we agree to do?
-
That's new players not new layers! Geez! Wish I could spell!

Maybe we should agree with all their ideas for improving a 4 year old game.

😂😂 Don't give out deadly diseases - I can agree to that. I will charge $1 for all my deadly diseases. However, non-fatal diseases are free. 😝Ok we got off topic there.. So we all agree the older players should not give any deadly diseases to the new layers? Agreed? What else can we agree to do?

Wrong, the key is payoff for the game provider.... the key to game survival is the new player.
New players might be of some importance. But as long as enough add space is sold and respect points are bought the game will be kept running probably at minimum investment of effort.Of course the players community could work out ways to enrich game experience and make it more attractive. But don't expect to much support from the people active in the forum. From my experience they are mostly mob wealthy and not open to just think about change.

Most of us with large mobs have been thinking about change for years. We've seen & discussed tons of suggestions. We've seen the game grow & change over time. We've shared our input before some major changes were made.
This has been a very positive thread; there's no reason to bring negativity to it.

That's not true, it's just that those ideas have been seen before and rejected after due consideration. For example your idea for small mob members to delete large mobbed players from their mob. It hurts the smaller player more than it would upset a large mobbed player.LaTortuga wrote:

Someone who encouraged me to stay was Dj Madman.
He gave and great tips and advice on the basics of the game and helped me understand what I was during wrong and what I should do right.
Simply messaging someone who needs it and offering the knowledge you know can go a long way.

Not true. From when I started there where several smaller players that didn't play till months after me and now they're 30k+ mob rolling with well rounded alliances.Guys I love this game. But I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, because if all the big 20k + mobsters now. Chances are you won't catch up to them, and even if you reach 20k, they will have grown even more. It's impossible to get a capo now, because all capos are "mobbed up" and continue to grow. So for new players, why even try?

^ Oops, sorry, I got negative.
Ok, how do we convey the importance of punching codes while still explaining they can have fun at any mob size?

They do protect players up to a certain level. Plus, the Spanish only had 500 men and some native allies against the whole Aztec army.
And popes blessing, tons off war machinery and the breath full of diseases unknown to the new World. The Españoles brought death not culture.
