How do we encourage new players to stay?

Just to add whilst the game is a pay as you play "free players" are potential paying customers so upping the level at which they are able to play at may get them to "bite" and become more involved or helps make the game better for those that play....... Win/win in my opinion.
If you keep doing the same thing you get the same results.

Have you ever thought to ask us oppressive players?

AgreeI blame society. For some of us, learning to take a hit on the chin was the attitude adjustment many of us needed. It taught some of us how to be humble and others how to fight back.
Now, we live in an age where every child is told that they can be whatever they want. This simply is not true. Yet, every child gets a ribbon for "participating" rather than a second place trophy out of fear that it will hurt their self-esteem.
If players are so incredibly sensitive to posting a comment in a forum out of fear, then maybe a war game is not a good fit for them. Maybe they should take their "participation" ribbon and go on to the next ap.
Just sayin'

This was a great post.last night I send out 9 messages to players that have been playing less than 48 hours offering help I tell them give it two weeks and if you don't like the game after that it's not for you.
I like helping but if a player comes to me with 400 mob after 2 months these are the players that are usually mouth pieces. -

Just my two cents.@ the silent player - if you like the game so much that you're worried about being flattened, than it's hard to believe you don't have 5-10 minutes to punch codes. I don't typically see players flattened for no reason. People get flattened for trolling or posting controversial things. Just the other day a noob posted a hello thread & got great response.

When I was a noob I posted 1k, 1.5k, and 2k congrats threads for myself and I don't recall anyone telling me not to post them until I joined Ritualz and told them I was about to post my 2.5k thread 😂

@mystery btw I'm 18 so I'm not a little kid. I see where you are going with that and yes, many people who leave are kids. And I meant like capos can be very mean and take a lot of your turf, even after constant asking nicely of them to stop. They step on you and keep going and call you a noob. And most capos now are well over 30k mob anywhere. So if we ask a capo to stop, he can say no and stomp on the little guy and not care. And yes it a war game, but isn't there a point where too much becomes too much?

Again, have you considered asking for a capo? I've given away a bunch if capos when asked.
-
@charzar - my comment about kids wasn't directed to you.
I still don't understand your point. Are you saying you are trying to obtain capos or are you talking about players that have capos? Players have different personalities. Whether one is a capo or not doesn't really matter, unless the issue is that you are trying to take his capo (& he doesn't want to give it up). If that's the case, spread out & stop trying to take his capo.

1 question. Why aren't you working with nick?Fix all the issues with the game that are obvious so that the game is better presented with no glaring development faults I.e attack/def points.
More free turf limit so free players can player at higher level then they currently can.
A reliable free points system to aid the above.
Some new leaderboards, weekly stats, tournaments run by the developers to generate enthusiasm/issue rewards, etc.
Any other novel idea that helps make this game unique........

Taking a "Devil's Advocate" position. These are new players who don't yet understand what different types of attack mean. I've often warned players re a post instead of attack because they are new. Then again I've smacked some too because I've been in a bad mood in RL.RSXJR wrote:

@Hyena - I have no idea how new he was or wasn't; I don't remember. I did apparently explain that profile attacks weren't a big deal. I have no idea what kind of mood I was in a year ago or how many times I attacked him. All I know is that he must have been above level 15, which really doesn't say much.

Don't make me cap you, fool.

@mystery I know. Just clarifying. And I mean with capos and trying to spread out in te city and it seems everywhere you go you get capped out pretty much. Never has happened to me I guess I'm lucky but it happened to a couple of my friends where ok matter how nice they were with the capo on asking him to stop camping them cuz all rye wanted to do was grow, they got stomped on.

I have had several suggestions for game changes and these could go to the suggestions forum but one was interesting. Although we have levels have some lines/levels where big players can't go back and hit small players like Don protection but stronger. This is a developer suggestion. I ask What can players do to help the game?

LaTortuga - Nice post. I think that this post can go a number of different ways. I too always talk to a noob that hits one of my turf, just checking out the game, seeing what this button will do, etc. Instead of chewing someone butt or cussing them out, I start to explain what to and not to do...tell them about the matrix and punching, etc. But like what others have said, this game isn't for everyone. My son doesn't get it. He likes to see action and doesn't understand how pushing the FIGHT button makes it a win or a loss. I guess he has the COD mentality.
Now, to take this conversation in a different direction...what about retaining players that have been playing for years. All of that knowledge, experience, time spent punching, hopping, etc is very valuable to the game. The long timers are the ones that keep this game going in my opinion.
Not only do we have people pounding people for stupid posts or stupid names, but we pound people into extinction for misunderstandings, hearsay and

....screenshots.
You tend to develop that gang mentality in this game and when others smell the blood...game on.
Says a lot about society to be honest with you. I'm one of those guys that tends to get along with anyone in game and in RL. I haven't had a lot of "run-ins" with anyone in this game and have joined V's like the game dictates, but now I, like others face the extinction effect.
I'll be honest, if that happens, I won't be back. I don't think I will be missed, but getting 33k mob members, as most of you know, is a feat in itself and not something that I would be willing to try and repeat. I've got a family and a full time job that dictates a lot of my time, but this was a nice escape. WAS a nice escape. With things getting blown out of proportion and some of us being clueless of what the hell is going on, etc. I don't post a lot, don't PM a lot of people, but regardless everyone playing TW is connected in that one weird way.....no matter where we go in this world,
-
, we see colored dots EVERYWHERE. That is what keeps us all playing....having more of our colored dots on the map. Just ask "fat" Maverick (to reference his latest post).
I understand ass poundings to get a point across, but in the end, we continue to punch, we continue to hop and we should continue to encourage others to do the same.
I know this rambled on and got WAY off of the point from the original post....but I think everything comes full circle (no pun intended).
✌️ T👀t -
@char - you'd have to be more specific about the situation with your friends. I also don't know what you mean by "camping."

Totally agree. If you bring in on yourself, face the consequences. Racist remarks, trash mouth, etc., deserves a lesson. -
Again good points.
To respond to what Toot is saying how do we help keep players. I don't believe anyone should reset due to others actions. I have been booted 3 times from Denver. Today I am still in Denver. There is nothing wrong with running if the dogs are after you. With airports just fly back later. I once hid in the fields outside Toronto until finally I was discovered. That is part of the fun.
