Something wrong did go on that night, but there just wasn't enough evidence to prove him guilty; that's the American Justice system. It's safe to say that George easily could've killed him, but evidence also shows that he was attacked by Martin.

@brizz
Oh you don't think pursuit and murder is a credible threat? I hope you aren't unfortunate enough to have a kid that was stalked one time and ends up in a ditch due to defending themselves or not defending themselves. Doesn't matter if they do or not, they still wouldn't be in the wrong. Because the precedent has been set. Your kid will be guilty of existing and will somehow be responsible for that fear ridden person judging, trying and executing him/her.
Not only that but it has it not been proven that he did indeed attack Zimmerman. Emotionally charged arguments and a band-aid patching his head up after being pounded into the concrete multiple times isn't exactly astounding evidence. In the real world that would have knocked him out cold and he likely would have had a brain injury.
Just because the prosecutor failed to present a case at all doesn't mean the Zimmerman defense wasn't scientifically a flat out lie. I swear you guys will believe anything puppet entertainment news tells you.

I am honestly saddened by the ignorance of Americans that is currently of full display.
You have a problem with what happened, don't blame either person or their skin color.
Blame the laws that allowed this to happen and the lawmakers that you elected to create the laws. Blame yourself for not knowing the law, and the fact that you didn't agree with it. Blame the media for ignorant, biased reporting.
Don't blame either of the two people whipped up in a racially charged media frenzy.

Stalking didn't happen here. By definition all he was doing was observing and reporting at that time. The confrontation happened when Martin decided to hide out and get the jump on Zimmerman. Who actually started the attack is unknown, but if you were an eye witness Addi and know who actually started the attack why did you not give testimony in the case?Stalking is against the law.
Assault is against the law.
Murder is against the law.You can't claim self defense if you start the attack by law.
Know what this case was? An unfortunate instance of two men not thinking clearly and for that 1 lost his life and the others is in ruins.

It sucks that both of Turf Wars lawyers are banned from the forums.

Zimmerman was a hero and that kid was nothing but a thug

As a neighborhood watch person, he has the right to follow and absolutely should have. Maybe Martin got pissed and said something, maybe Z did, who the hell knows but I do know A 30 year old blackman shot and killed a 17 year old white kid a month later, and noone heard a word about that. Plain and simple two dudes met and fought and the end result is someone died. I can promise Z did not have his gun drawn before the altercation..I also love the fact the picture of Martin circulating is the one they took 3 years earler, why not show his mug shot???? Media played us all for fools and we fell for it

👍Ok. Was it a crime that warranted 2nd degree murder? No. Is he guilty of stalking and picking a fight that he couldn't win? Yes.
GZ will have to live with this the rest of his life. I do not agree with his motives/actions on the night in question, but I do believe that he acted in self-defense when he was beaten. The problem I have is the way he put himself in that position. Because of those actions, a young man is dead. But hey, I'm just your average white guy talking here.

This guy was Hispanic and was labeled as some racist attack. Yes I wish the boy didn't get shot but he put that officers life at risk
-
In all fairness, a young in shape kid can sure as shit outrun George Zimmerman....with that being said, all arguments stating Trayvon acted in self defense are invalid. George is guilty of following Trayvon. Trayvon is guilty of not avoiding the situation. The outcome of those two mistakes lead to a young mans life being lost. It's a terrible thing, but I believe George was the one ultimately acting in self defense.

Zimmerman was doing his job. He had every right to follow that kid.

It wasn't a paid job, and I still think he was an ass for being so worried about what TM was doing. He was a kid loitering a bit, that's what kids his age do for God's sake. I was the queen of loitering around shiftlessly at that age.
So I'm in the middle, I guess, because I do think GZ was wrong: just not criminally wrong. He didn't break the law. -
How about we all bake cookies and pretend this never happened. 😛

Soooo which is it? You said stalking was following someone repeatedly or harassing repeatedly right? He admittedly said he followed twice. 👍 Treyvon is dead so that takes care of the threat part👍 I come up with Stalking.Definition of stalking in legal terms: A person who intentionally and repeatedly follows or harasses another person and who makes a credible threat.
It IS illegal to stalk someone. Too bad Martin wasn't stalked. At most, he was harassed and again- unfortunately, you can't legally attack everyone who harasses you.

Repeatedly was proven. It is very personal to a lot of us who are raising 16 year old young men now. Added to my parental duties of warning my son about walking while black, proper etiquette when pulled over while being black, black tax while working being black, I'll add walking through a safe neighborhood while being black.I'm really sorry that definition wasn't clear enough for you since you willfully chose to ignore the word "repeatedly." Unless one isolated incident is now repeatedly. You always know someone knows they're losing an argument when they resort to trying to make it personal with "well, if it were your child..."

What Mug shot Ice? The kid doesn't have a juvenile record? Any person with a tad bit of street smarts can look at the kids pics and tell he's soft. He's no thug. Take your ass to jail and see just how well blacks and Hispanics get along. If it wasn't racial why the Goon comment and "these punks always get away" I see not many here in the forums have been racially profiled before obviously. Hard to have a healthy debate when so many are clueless. You would know something's wrong with Zimmermans story as soon as he said Trayvon attacked and said " you got a problem homie?" We haven't used Homie in 15 fucking years. Especially this young generation of kids. Sounds like something he made up as usual. This guy was Hispanic and was labeled as some racist attack. Zimmerman confronted Martin
Zimmerman shoots Martin
Martin is dead it's simpler than it looks and he should be charged for the fact of shooting someone dead
