Simple fact is the government has admitted that they heard huge amounts of rumblings in the intelligence communities regarding 9/11. They just didn't take it serious. Didn't bother to run down all the salient facts. Lots of people dropped the ball in a huge way when it comes to 9/11. It was preventable. Now all the "spying antics" are to make sure it doesn't happen again. Is the government violating rights and breaking the law and doing shady things to acquire this info? Absolutely.Meh.
I don't really consider it the governments fault. They have so much to do anyway, you can't blame them for missing it sometimes.
I think it's more important on how they handle the situation afterwards. -

gunstreet grrl And here I was thinking the CIA gets trained to be polite and ask for permission to wiretap in a foreign country on foreign citizens. Those terrorists also probably planned 9/11 in some foreign language that the US government doesn't understand, so that absolves them of responsibility of knowing what was being planned.
What I mean is that the CIA can't tap every single phone in every country.
Thank you for clearing it up for me!

Now, I'd prefer if you attempted not to twist my words, treat me with moderate politeness.
Also, the word "meh" to me was used in the context to indicates that you made a good point but I don't agree with it.
Ugh, pathetic. If you're over 15, don't expect me to sit here listening to your nonsense and saying that I disagree "with all due respect" when I find them an affront to logic and intelligence. You've been around long enough to read and start thinking critically.

Also, did you notice how Grimm said it politely?
Should ask him for some tips next time. -

Should ask him for some tips next time.I have better things to do with Grimm. And when he's a good boy, I'm usually the one tipping.

Seen as I've actually listened and accepted the last point you made. But I love how you picked out when I insulted someone, who did insult me first. But what she is doing is completely acceptable.

Um, no. I'm not going to become a moron because you asked me to. I know what I'm talking about and you don't. I'm also not going to say "thank you for sharing" because I am not in kindergarten or high school, I'm a working adult.
When you start becoming aware of the world around you and being able to think critically, come talk to me. Until then, I have nothing to add.

YOU wrote:
And before you go disputing what I'm saying, know that I've lost friends because of shit like this.Snowden fucked up. His actions have placed American lives in danger.
There is no excuse for that.
You can call this traitor a hero all that you want, the blood will be on your hands.
He is a hero.
Yes all governments spy on other governments.. Snowden released the fact that the US government spies on other countries citizens, that is not acceptable.
Who gave the US the right to try and govern the world? That is where they crossed the line. Pathetic.Snowden released classified info that put American lives in danger. THAT is unacceptable. So what we spy on other countries, all countries with the power and ability to do so do it. Snowden is a traitor and needs to be put to death for it. There is NO excuse for this. If you even try to think that your own countries don't spy on us then you're severely lying to yourself.
-
You sir, are mistaking
Who's lives would Snowden be putting in danger? Certainly not citizens like you and me, who could care less if we now know that the goverment is spying on us, certainly not politicians who have all the security they could want. How could the enemy use the fact that the government spies on us as a way to nuke and/or kill us?
Condemning Snowden to death would make the US look even worse than it does now, revealing classified info to the public is a crime, but I don't think the death penalty should even be considered. Life in prison is considerable though.

Nah, it went off topic ages ago.
And I like politeness. It's the only thing I can really admire in this world, hence my attachment to it. -

Some times superyan, you make no sense, say this after a comment stating "it's the police fault for a murder, and it's the fire departments fault your house burned down" unless the police were standing right there, they can't prevent a murder, the only thing they can do is, put the murder behind bars. Same thing with the fire department, unless they were driving by and happened to look in your window and see you left the oven on, they can't prevent a fire, they can do their best to put it out and see what caused the fire. So it seems your point is invalid. And unless the terrorist, hijacked a plane from Canada, they could have prevented 9/11. I'm no expert, I'm just putting my two cents in.Meh.

If you have an X-Box, then put the kinect to a mirror. It seems that no one is pissed about the Soviets, Chinese, or the Iranians.

Government shouldn't be allowed to spy without a good cause. Spying on allies and (for the love of god) it's own citizens is against personal freedoms. Whoever is in charge of the us should feel ashamed. Damn that moron not the people.
