Shooting at my daughter's school
Forums › General Discussion › Shooting at my daughter's school-
I just received a phone call from my ex letting me know my daughter's school is on lock down. Apparently, a black male in his 40's shot a female student teacher in the head. He fired 5 shots toward the school before hitting her. The man is already in custody and my daughter should be coming home soon. I know this could happen anywhere, but my ex and I are gonna have a little chat about my daughter getting out of the city and moving with me in the southern part of the county.

Shadowking . An horrific experience . I have a question for you and all others . Before this incident were you one if the supporters of everyone should have the right to bear arms ? If so has this change your opinion or you think that's just an occupational hazard ? My question really is the people who think everyone should have a gun , would there opinions change if they actually experienced something like this first hand ?

As a gun owner, I've always been one to see both side of this argument. Im more for stricter laws on obtaining firearms than seeing them banned altogether. Texted a friend from the EPD to see if he is able to give me some info. Something tells me this gun wasn't obtained legally.Shadowking . An horrific experience . I believe in the right to bare arms but I believe we need stricter laws on whom can obtain a weapon. A background check that checks for felonies, mental issues etc.

Wow Shadow that's crazy. I'm sure you about lost your mind worrying. I'm so happy to hear everything is ok!!!
Does this crap with these bastards ever end??! Talk about terrorism.

A few facts that are being confused it was a substitute teacher's aid who was shot. She was taking a break and walked to the County Fair which is fairly close. She was shot on her walk back to the school. At no time were the kids in danger.

This is correct. It didn't happen on school grounds, but the the woman went into the school, knowing they would put it on lockdown for her and the kids' safety. And yes, the country fair store is a 5 minute walk from the school.A few facts that are being confused it was a substitute teacher's aid who was shot. I know every parent dreads a call like that. Last year I got a call from my 8yrs old elementary, notifying me they were on lock down. Luckily no shooter inside but a husband had locked himself in his house and had his wife at gunpoint. They locked down the elementary because it was down the street. Just the beginning of the call made my heart stop.

I'm sorry you had to go through that Shadow! I'm glad she's okay :)

We went on lockdown a couple of years ago. A guy robbed the grocery store a block away from us and then fled on foot. His getaway driver left him. The guy ran through our parking lot and got about half a mile down the road before the police grabbed him.

I'm sorry to hear about this. These elementary kids as well as anyone should never have to go through this situation.

Shags, almost the entire country feels this way aside from maybe the tea party/right wing fanatics - gun control/mental health reform at least. Not getting rid of guns. Problem is our congress votes against the majority. Which means we are broken since our democratic representatives no longer do as the majority wishes. This happens every so often in our history -- corrupt congress. It'll change eventually, it always does.shaggly razors wrote:

I believed then, and I continue to believe in, an individual's right to bear arms.I don't believe everybody should be authorized to possess or use firearms and current law already restricts many people's ability to lawfully possess and carry them.

it never is,or never was.about firearms.its about pressures people are under, and why they feel that way

What we need to do is start making people respect the law with brutal punishments like we did in the old days. Jail wasn't a 3 course meal meet and greet hotel for bad people, it was hell.ℒƬ. ʗøℒʊℳℬɵ wrote:
