Shooting at my daughter's school
Forums › General Discussion › Shooting at my daughter's school-
I support gun control, but not taking them away. The "criminals don't obey laws" argument is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Of course they don't obey laws, that's why they're criminals! Murderers don't obey laws against murder, but we still have them.

Aaahhhh mess old friend the voice of reason from a different dimension . Out of curiosity whats the penalty if say you are caught with a pistol with no permit ? In the uk you would get 7 years in jail . Enough of a deterent to mean only the serious criminals carry them and they generally fight amongst themselves . Although people do tend to get stabbed up but it's more difficult to go postal with a blade . Main issue I guess is with so many in circulation there's not much hope of stopping it now in the us . Strict penalties for carrying in public maybe and only authorised for home defence and or shooting clubs .

It depends which state you're in, your past criminal history, whether you have drugs on you, how close you are to a school zone, etc. It can range from no time at all to years, depending on the above factors. Interestingly, carrying a legally owned gun in California is a misdemeanor, while carrying a knife larger than legal limit is a felony.

It's both mess. The easy access just makes it easier for suicides or murder. Obviously prevention will reduce the need to use them like nationalized mental health and reduced income disparity. But we can't even pass a bill that makes 100% gun sales do background checks AND protects a persons privacy making gun registration illegal. So, when we can't do something super basic due to a lobby clinched congress, we certainly aren't going to be preventative which requires way more.

glad your daughter is ok. what happened to the teacher?

Ahh good ole addi always blaming everything on the right. Every time I see these post from you I throw up in my mouth a little. Plus I throw darts at your picture 👩📌. 😊

It is stander protocol to lock down near by schools and some places of business in the event of a near by shooting ... I am a gun owner (the legal way) of many guns and I had to have a full FBI background check before I could own most guns I have... The problem is most people that use guns for violent acts are not able to legally own them and it gives people like myself a bad name and make it harder for me to defend myself and family from these individuals.

Holy crap that was at your kids schoolI just received a phone call from my ex letting me know my daughter's school is on lock down. Apparently, a black male in his 40's shot a female student teacher in the head. He fired 5 shots toward the school before hitting her. The man is already in custody and my daughter should be coming home soon. I know this could happen anywhere, but my ex and I are gonna have a little chat about my daughter getting out of the city and moving with me in the southern part of the county.

Exactly how many guns do you need to protect you & your family? Do you think the semi automatic, high capacity assault riffle is more of a deterrent to intruders over the 10 round 229 or the sawed off shot gun?... That's why you need more guns, all the choices. Get them all! I'm good friends with a collecter so my little 5 guns I realize now is not much compared to real collectors! I will strive to fix this problem.☣Յⅈ☢Ϧⱥʑǻཞđ☣ wrote:

You need to match the weapon to the situation of course! Think of it like playing golf, you don't go out with just the putter.☣Յⅈ☢Ϧⱥʑǻཞđ☣ wrote:

Then again, if your aim is maximum damage and coverage in close quarters and you really mean to kill someone then all you need us a shotty.

Could you possibly be referring to 80-90% of Americans believing there should be more thorough background checks? That's true, congress ignored that.

I am a convicted felon. Was convicted in '97 and served 3 years in prison. There are all types of laws to keep me from owning a firearm. But it's as simple as having someone else purchase them for me. I own an Armalite AR-15 in .223 and a Kel-Tec .380. Why do I have them? Cause I wanted them. I know it's illegal, but I still have them. What law could have possibly been passed that would have changed that? Stricter background checks wouldn't have stopped me from having my guns. So why pass stricter gun laws? It's only going to effect the people who are trying to own guns legally, not me.

Why brush your teeth in the morning? You're only going to have to do it again that night.
Why bother throwing your garbage in the trash? Another asshole is just going to throw it on the street too.

Btw, are you trying to say I'm incorrect. As in Imagining that it's mostly conservatives that fight any form of gun control or preventative measures? Is there some secret society of liberals out there pushing a gun ownership agenda? Or is it that your only come back was an emotional argument to try to deflect attention from any truth I said?;)
And don't worry, I throw up a bit in my mouth knowing how these conservative think tanks have people like you on a leash. Funny but detrimental to our society. I would love to see something more than useless talking points, strawmen and insults come from your side of the fence. Like for instance, a real live fact.

... Dang, hit post without thinking ...
I was going to continue by saying that gun control does nothing but stop straight laced goody-two-shoes law-abiding civilians from owning self defence tools. -
Sorry to hear that shadow, scary stuff.
