Hyena, dont forget about the big red red 'Roos up north. They'll take a man's bowels out with one kick.
And the dingos - not so much of a threat to humans as any of the above animals (except maybe the Jumping Jacks and Bullants), they are nonetheless wild dogs and have been known to take children. I hate to think of how many aborigine babies were lost to them in bygone eons.

We going to adilade at the end of this year. Anything there to be carefull of??

I read 'in a sunburned country' made me laugh like hell, and decide I never needed to visit OZ. Everything is deadly, dry and far apart. But, also great folk...but I can talk to them on here without the long trip. Lol

The dingo ate my baby!
-
I'd like to thank you for saving me a trip to Austrailia. 👍
-
Oh well, it depends. If you are on vacation, you will stay at hotel, eat at restaurants and visit places that are "safe". My fiancee went to Austrália last year with her family, and they loved, they said it is the Brasil that came out right!! Hahahaha

We in Oklahoma have a large boom in stds such as herpes and genital warts. BE AFRAID

Sorry all I fell asleep, don't worry there is plenty more in Australia that can kill you....
-
Don't step on the rocks....
When out visiting the reefs make sure you wear shoes even in the water. This is the home of the StoneFish and you don't even know he is there. The Stonefish as his name implies looks like a rock, that is until you step on him at which point he injects a venom into the sole of your foot. Extremely painful and if left untreated deadly.

Weather, perfect 1 day a hurricane the next, or maybe a hailstorm. Maybe you prefer floods? Drought, how about having children 10 years old that have never seen rain? The weather here can be extreme, even in the snowfields we have had people die from getting lost in a whiteout.Hyena wrote:

I will cover bushfires elsewhere as they are an entire chapter to themselves.

Good read Hyena,
I've witnessed the rips firsthand at gunnamatta beach victoria,
Was within 20-30 meters of a shark in janjuc( didn't surf for the rest of that day!!)
And only recently burned a redback nest in the backyard!!
But the weather is good!!☀☀
Seriously-I wouldn't live anywhere else in the world!! -
Can you eat those animals?
-
It's still a major place I would love to visit for a month or so ... I'm fond of those animals others fear ... Sad to say from the states is way expensive ... Don't for get the jelly fish I Beleave u all have the box right ?

Why aren't you using the metric system?Crocs, your not even safe on land....
Up in Darwin a Tourist asks a local if there are any sharks in the water to be worried about. The local replies, nahhhh no sharks mate. And as the tourist starts towards the water he continues, No sharks, the crocs ate them all....
These are the last of the living dinousaurs, they can swim faster than an olympic swimmer, hold their breath longer, can weigh over a ton. The pressure a croc can bring down when biting can be over 5,000 pounds per square inch, this compares with 1,000 ppsi for a Hyena, or 335 ppsi for a rotweiler.
There have been stories of crocs attacking camping grounds, and when opened up everything from kangaroos to cows have been found inside.

Thanks turfa by the way your new name design awesome anyway if there is one more dangerous place on earth though it's south America I believe they actually have sharks that swim up in the river not to mention that brazilian tarantula I fucking hate spiders (chill) I have goosebumps from thinking about it

Or Iowa. Iowa has lots of pigs and pigs kill more people each year than sharks. Also, too much corn can hurt your immune system. But by too much, I mean like way too much. Like nonstop eating it for a day. Yeah. Iowa is pretty deadly

Ahhh Razorbacks.... These monsters are an introduced pest estimated to run at 23,000,000 in the outback of Australia causing damage to the native flora and fauna. These pigs grow up to 175kg and have nasty tusks that can do serious damage. There is even a thriller movie about a rogue Razorback in outback Australia that goes on a killing spree.Or Iowa. The Sun....
Yes he who lights our day is a dangerous killer also. Australia sits under the hole in the ozone layer (I'm not getting into any arguments as to what caused it, just acknowledging it is there) and as such it's rays a vastly more damaging than some other places around the world. Not only is there the risk of dehydration if you don't drink enough water, but long term the sun burns you had as a child can mutate into melanoma's (a type of skin cancer) which if the metastasize (hope I spelt that correct) will kill you. Australia has one of the highest rates of Melanoma's in the world.
