Damn you brown note and your "encouragement"! It's 95 degrees here with 100% humidity.

If you did it in 6, you'd be done now.
10MPH. 6 minutes. Finished!
Come on, man... A fast walk is halfway there! Are you trying to tell me you can't run moderately fast for just 6 minutes?
If a pit bull was chasing you, you would have made it.
You CAN do it, as soon as you want to.

Good news everyone, during my endurance running I felt way better, no huffing and puffing, and I could run much longer.

Badbean, your just about at my level now. 8:59 is mine. I couldve run faster I guess, but all I had to do was under 10:00. Im just about in the middle of all the people in my class. Im gonna try running for my life and see how it goes.

16 years ago in my first fire academy I did 1.5 miles in 8:55 min. I was 215lbs then.
If I had to now, my best would be in the low 8 min range.
Thinking of German Shepards doesn't make me faster; it just makes me think that "I didn't get this big just so I could run away. Time to draw a line in the sand, turn and fight."
Keep up the hard work and you'll get there.
Good luck. -

Try running without them. While you are running, listen only to your breathing and the sound of you footsteps. Get yourself into a runners trance, and you can easily knock a minute off of your time tomorrow. Don't think about the end, or even pay attention to how far it is. Just think about going.Does anybody know a good brand of earbuds for running? My Sony ones slip out every 5 seconds.
