Drinking
Forums › General Discussion › Drinking-
Well, I thought that I would come to the forums to all you sympathetic people (wellll, sometimes) and bring about the topic of underage consumption of alchohol without the parents consent. At fifteen (drinking age 19), I have been playing around with the thought of, casually mind you, drinking. I don't know if this is a good or bad thing. Obviously my parents bring it up every chance they get, but I want to know what another, slightly less biased opinion is. Is it OK? Or just wrong at my age? I just wanna know what it feels like, tastes like, what with all the hype about it. Please help me out.

As a fellow 15 year old, I say don't do it. I've seen first hand what it can do. At our age, we are still learning so much and we can't afford to have alchohol mess up our heads. Just wait a few years.
-
It's not worth it. The risk of getting an underage is not worth it. Plus most people who are underage do not know their limits and drink way too much. Just stick it out and wait until its legal especially since you only have to wait until 19 instead of 21.
-
If anything, try NA beer. But I started drinking at 16, got 3 MIPS, tons of fines, still owe them $1,000 bucks and just turned 21 on the 16th.

I feel the legal drinking age should be 18 in America. At that age, a citizen can vote, buy cigarettes, have a medical card, go to prison, tried in court as an adult, and be drafted to war and kill people in another country.
All that is from the same govt that says we're too not ready to drink. -
I've seen people almost die from it, like 4-5% blood alchohol level away from death. But I like to feel like I am more responsible than them. I've always been a pretty decent kid... Has drinking underage gone over well for anyone?
-
Where is the drinking age 19.....not in America

I find the main benefit of drinking is the social aspect; if you can't get into a pub or something it's not that fun. I'd say wait, plus alcohol tastes like piss the first few times

Meh, i drank for the first time when i was almost 17, if you're not stupid it's not dangerous, you choose if it's worth it. I've never got in trouble when drinking though i usually do it with good friends..
Good luck!

Drinking is so much more dangerous than that stuff. Minus, of course, the armed forces, but that is totally a choice; if you aren't mature enough to handle the army, you probably won't join.I feel the legal drinking age should be 18 in America. Europe is super lenient on drinking, the average age is 15 or 16, so I'm disappointed in our system. (im 18)

I say w8 till 20

In Newfoundland an most other Canadian provinces. In a select few the drinking age is 18. And @ Traugger, we can buy and smoke cigarettes at 16 here.Where is the drinking age 19.....not in America

It actually shrinks your testicles! No joke

Try it. Like one beer. See what the fuss is about.
Then wait until your legal and try some more stuff. -

I've never gone over my limit, but it's still dangerous if you over consume

True. The people I know were also stoners and very regular drinkers, but hey, I guess it could happen to anyone.TheNewfieBullet wrote:

If your blood alcohol level is .5 you die. Anyways my dad let me try whisky and vodka at a wedding. It tasted like cough syrup, also it will screw up your brain at our age because our brain is developing leading to easier alcholism, and drug addiction. Affects your grades. Wait til 19 at the very least, would you rather be sucessful, or a chance of screwing up the rest of your life? The thing about drinking is that it is more dangerous when you are less responsible or careful

Very little good happens when you're drunk when comparing it with the bad that happens. What I mean is, the good time and fun that you have with your buddies is outweighed by the hangover. Or the DUI on the way home etc. It also creates the possibility of dependence later because your brain is still creating connections and alcohol can hamper that. Just wait. It's not as awesome as people make you think.

Don't be afraid to be kid, just make sure you do it safe. I would drink a couple beers with my son at 16 if he was mature enough. Some kids dont grow up as fast as others. I was drinking and havin sex at 16 where most of my friends hadn't. I had an older brother to show me the ropes.
-
I had my first drink underage at 19 while I was in college. 15 to me is too young, there are worse things you could be doing then drinking though. The fact that you ask for advice about it shows you to be a little more leveled headed then most teenagers.
Honestly I say the next time your parents have a drink ask them to taste it. You said they talked to you about drinking, they might have an open mind about it. Mostly likely you aren't going to like it. I'm almost 30 and still can't stand the taste of beer. I prefer liquor and cocktails.
-
I started drinking at 16 am now 28 ,I wouldnt advice it you just end up getting in trouble ,altough had loads of fun at the same time! The trick is not to get caught by your parents or be a tit head when your drunk ! If you can do that crack on you only live once !!! 😜🍻🍻

I think the majority above are telling u the right thing. The majority of kids your age cannot handle themselves if they were to drink. That's why it's illegal. Wait and grow up. Enjoy being a kid for now. There will be plenty of time when you're older to partake in adult beverages.
-
Thanks guys, I think I will wait for now. I appreciate the help and how understanding you all were. Happy Turfin'!
-
I can tell u it's good in moderation but not good in bulk...iv done bulk and it fucked my life to hell, in moderation I personally see nothing wrong with it, the key is responsibility
