I thought that (somewhat) when I was underage. Now that I see my 18 year old brother & 16 year old sister, I know they're too immature to handle the responsibilities drinking brings. Hell, some people my age are still to immature for it. I know far top many people with 1-4 DUIs. Yes, 4.I feel the legal drinking age should be 18 in America. At that age, a citizen can vote, buy cigarettes, have a medical card, go to prison, tried in court as an adult, and be drafted to war and kill people in another country.
All that is from the same govt that says we're too not ready to drink. -
Ok. First off, make plans before hand. Make sure you have a dd or you can crash wherever it is you're drinking. NEVER drink and drive. And drink SLOWLY until you know your limits. Once the room starts spinning, that's a good time to stop drinking. Just be smart about it and always drink in moderation. As long as you're responsible about it, you will have a good time. People who wait til legal age almost always go way overboard with it. Take a chance and live a little.

This is for the legal age people... When you drink have a glass of water between each drinks. You'll never get a hangover. The hangover is cause by dehydration.

I'm not promoting underage drinking but I done it plenty back in my day and made some damn good memories.

If you drink at a young age, I say don't do it. If you do it anyway, atleast know your limit so you can take care of yourself.

It's actually .6 which, btw =60%, the guy I know was like 56% or something. It'll screw up your brain if you abuse, will it still screw you up if you don't?TheNewfieBullet wrote:
If your blood alcohol level is .5 you die. Anyways my dad let me try whisky and vodka at a up your brain at our age because our brain is developing leading to easier alcholism, and drug addiction. Affects your grades. Wait til 19 at the very least, would you rather be sucessful, or a chance of screwing up the rest of your life? Patience is a virtue.I've seen people almost die from it, like 4-5% blood alchohol level away from death. But I like to feel like I am more responsible than them. I've always been a pretty decent kid... Has drinking underage gone over well for anyone?
.6 = 0.6%

I started at 16 (Legal in germany as long as it's wine or beer). Of course I tried out harder stuff soon after. Had a hangover or two but nothing serious happened. no blackouts, no bad regrettable one night stands...
And I don't know anyone who drinks alcohol and didn't have at least one hangover.
You have to decide for yourself. Also seen 15 year olds ending up in the emergency room after shitting their pants.
Just don't get carried away in the drinking and start with something light like beer.Ah who am I kodding. If you try it you will get carried away after a while. Not the end of the world because next time you just (should) remember when to stop.

Just live life to the fullest. Whether or not that involves drinking in your life, is up to you. Whatever you choose, dont live a life youll regret ( bu action ot inaction )
-
yeah, it isn't worth it. heard some awful stories about alcohol n drinking n stuff. atleast be of age if at all. Good Luck on deciding!

Don't waste your brain cells my friend. 15 is too young to start drinking and drinking is too stupid to do period. So I vote stay clean! Keep your mind clear!! And stay focused on the important things in life!!! 👍😁

Just because he can think logically not on alcohol doesn't mean he will on it. I've seen NUMEROUS military members when they weren't sober be completely logical good understanding people. Get drunk---start becoming the dumbest people, and awful. Doing things I know they would never do. So you can't tell him that. First thing to go when you drink....your judgment.Do it now.
It won't be as fun when it's legal.
You'll just have to go harder to get a kick out of it.
Long as your okay with breaking the law, consider legal drinking age is different across The world.
The simple fact that you were able to logically seek advice on the subject leads me to Beleive that you won't drink and drive or knock some chick up. Do it in a safe place like home or a friends house. And stay put for the night. -

Yeah I've seen people with your mindset they think they are ready for it but then they try it a couple times and get totally hooked and it ruins their life failing classes fines etc. Best thing don't do it. Alcohol is like other drugs only reason it's legal is because governments want to make money of the sales.I've seen people almost die from it, like 4-5% blood alchohol level away from death. Im 14 and ive tried drinking (tequila vodka) i think it horrible
So i say no right now, -
As someone that has been drinking for way longer than ive been legal, let me advise you to not start drinking until you are of age. I started drinking when i was 12..... I am now almost 23. Earlier this year i tried to quit drinking at the request of the love of my life. As an every day drunk that quit cold turkey, my body was thrown into somewhat of a state of shock and i was in a hell of a lot of pain for days. I had chest pain, i couldnt breath or sleep, i was having auditory hallucinations, and my mental state was less than ideal. Sobriety lasted less than a month for me and the love of my life left me because of my issues.... I feel like had i waited until i was 21 (legal age in california) to drink, i would not have had the issues with alcohol dependency because i would have been mature enough to understand the consequences

I'm 16 and clean, and I have no motivation to start drinking. (concussions already fuck me up bad enough, yay football!) I don't judge people for it though unless they do it irresponsibly/brag about it. I'm the DD for my group of friends, and really I don't give a shit about "missing out" or being a "pussy". That being said, I did beat the shit out of the last drunk kid who called me a "gay pussy faggot" for being a DD. Alcohol at it's finest, eh?

That's what I don't understand. You can be trialled as an adult, but don't get treated as an adult in society (as in freedom to visit a bar etc)I feel the legal drinking age should be 18 in America. Alcohol at it's finest, eh?On a serious note, I honestly see zero logic behind the whole 'legal age' laws in America: as the OP said, you can drive, serve time, get drafted and be killed legally, but you can't drink alcohol? Seriously, I see no logic.
I'm 19 and Australian. I've had my licence for a little over a year, owned three cars and been drunk many times. I am generally responsible with these privileges (which I actually see as rights) ... but hey, I suppose you Americans are better off than some countries, and you get to have cool guns that are illegal here. Lol.

I'm 22, and at 15 I drank for the first time and got alchol poisoning. You Definietly shouldn't do it, not just because of your age but because its dangerous to do. O yea I also spent 2 days in the hospital and they pumped my stomach I was lucky.Well, I thought that I would come to the forums to all you sympathetic people (wellll, sometimes) and bring about the topic of underage consumption of alchohol without the parents consent. At fifteen (drinking age 19), I have been playing around with the thought of, casually mind you, drinking. I don't know if this is a good or bad thing. Obviously my parents bring it up every chance they get, but I want to know what another, slightly less biased opinion is. Is it OK? Or just wrong at my age? I just wanna know what it feels like, tastes like, what with all the hype about it. Please help me out.
