Question for today's tolerant youth . When I was at School fat kids would get name called also gays , racially diverse , people with a wart on their chin whatever , it wasn't meant in any evil way but nowadays everyone seems appalled if someone is called a homo or retarded etc and it seems that most people wouldn't even dream of being hurtful to others . Is that true ?????
-
No. A lot of kids only care for themselves and not for others, and don't care who they're hurting, sometimes even enjoy it. I'm not saying all do, I'm just saying some do.
Then there's the type you referred to. They would never call anyone anything more vulgar than "stupid" or "idiot", and might kill themselves if they were bullied by the afore mentioned type. -
Well it is true that most people nowadays are more aware of what hurts other people and its implications. People, in my opinion, are on the path to becoming too soft, but to call someone retarded for any reason (unless professionally referring to a mental disability, in which case I still think it shouldn't be called retarded), I find that disrespectful and horrible. Fat is the same, although most people call others fat behind their backs. Some people don't choose to be fat, so don't talk about it as if it makes them a slob or a bad person. And gay is the same. People who really are gay don't deserve the abuse they get. It's not their fault. And they're still human beings. And I do find it disrespectful to gays to just throw the words like: "fag" and "homo" and "gay" around like they mean nothing.

The kids hurt back then. Getting more attention now.

I think it fine to bully or name call anyone. As long as its their fault. For example, calling someone fat because they eat too much is acceptable. You'll possible force them to lose weight and even save their life.
But calling some fat when they say a gland problem and they can't help but be fat is wrong. If we are all accepting of people who are overweight, then are going to think it's ok. By bullying them, you are telling them it's bad to be overweight. It can only be bad if we get too accepting.

You know that you are physically active and eat well. You know that you are pretty healthy. So get over it and delevope a thicker skin.

So Superyan, if someone eats too much and they're thin (which I've seen), can you bully them into eating less? And if someone is overweight and eats too much, which would work better? "You're such a FAT SLOB! You should consider going on a diet or going to some camp because you're too fat and nobody likes you because of it." or "It looks like you could possibly benefit from losing some weight. I know it's a sensitive issue, but you'll feel better, and probably live longer if you do."

Todays community needs to get the fuck over themselves. I've been bullied to the point where i was a lifeless being that hated existence. Then it donned onme to not give a fuck about it anymore, and today i stand tall as a good person. Me being someone in "this day and age" and not giving a fuck should be an example. I need no psychiatrist or any of that shit, just mind over stupidity.Superyan wrote:

You need to knock it into them the hard way.And about the person eating loads but being thin. They have a fast metabolism. They need to eat that much. That's why they eat loads but gain no weight, the body needs that food.

One last thing before I go: what if someone is disabled and people call them things like "weird retards" and stuff. My sister has been in a wheelchair since she was two. She has cerebral palsy. People stare all the time and I have heard people yell out stuff like retard and that she should just stay home.

Now, does your sister deserve to bullied? Is it her fault that she's in a wheelchair?

That's wrong. She can't help that, and she shouldn't have to deal with any bullying because operating a normal life in a wheelchair is hard enough. Case Closed. -
K. So the adults that're a influence on kids (teachers) in our generation were the kids getting made fun of in highschool. It made them sad, so they don't want other kids like them to feel the same as they did. But like my parents were popular in highschool so they didn't get made fun of a lot. So they don't really care if I make fun of people as long as I don't bully them.

Internet bullying shouldn't be taken serious. Real life is a different story. I'm with chiken on this one

People are babied these days. Suck it up and get back at the bully.

There have always been bullies, and there will always be bullies, sad though it is, and we should work to eliminate bulleying (sp?), but I also think the bullied child needs to be taught skills on how to deal with it, how to grow a thicker skin, etc, and how to turn the situation around, because there have been far too many suicides caused by bullying. Also, many bullies are from dysfunctional families, and that is their own cry for help. Perhaps more orphanages and foster services need to be set up to get the bullies out of their toxic environment.

Ryan, so if some 16 year old winds up in a wheelchair because they were hit by a car they didn't see when crossing the street; ok to bully them?
Was their own fault for not being more careful...

No. Someone who drinks alcohol when stressed is called someone who drinks alcohol. An alcoholic is when you need alcohol to get through almost every day. Alcoholics all round NEED alcohol. Stress isn't just what makes them drink.⚡ Ⓛⓐⓦⓡⓔⓝⓒⓔ ⚡ wrote:

SnipAlso. Fat isn't what you should call someone when they eat when stressed. Large chance someone who does that is ideal weight. When someone has big saggy man boobs and their belly is large, then, you have a valid reason for calling him fat.
