The date? No.

Apologies. We all get something wrong sometimes ;D -
My turn. I believe in a god. But I do not believe in religion. Or organized religion. At my girlfriends church one of he pastors was fired, yes, fired, because he wasn't bringing enough money into the church. Which I though was rediculous. Most Christians will consider what my parents do sinful. My mother and step father, who are NOT married to eachother, but have been living together for 8 years, have a child together. I love my little half brother. And my mon and step dad. My mom is a nurse, and my step dad is a police officer. Most kind hearted and nice people I've ever know. Yet according to some, what their doing, (having a child out of wed lock), is sinful and they will go to hell for it. Which I find rediculous.

On top of that, I went to watch my girlfriend perform at her church. I over heard her pastor saying in a disgusted voice that he would never marry a man and a woman together of they were living together before they were married. I was appalled. And a little hurt.

In response to your mother and step-father, some things like that are wrong, and it's tough to accept it. Don't get me wrong though, I do respect what you believe. -

Be very hard and tough, look at Jobs life, and the apostle Paul and Peter, was there life a walk in the park? No many of the were martyr'd and tortured. And why should God have to show you any more love? He came to Earth incarnate and was tortured and died a brutal death for your sins to be forgiven. You being alive today and having air to breath, a roof over your head, a bed to sleep in, food to eat is a gift from God as well, situations would be much worse of God wasn't there watching over you. -
Also Ryan how do you think God is showing you thy he hates you?

Matthew 5:45 (words of Jesus) That ye may be children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and the sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
Pretty much saying good things will happen to good and bad people, and bad things will happen to good and bad people.

Who cares who you worship. Just don't be a douche to other people about it. Nobody knows which religion is the right religion. Live and let live, and just chill.

I actually read a study of how people think it really happened, according to roman traditions and whatnot. First, Jesus had been praying in the garden (when his disciples fell asleep multiple times) so intensely that the bible says he began to sweat blood. There is actually a condition for that where the vein in your temple has blood pumping through it violently hard, by concentration or stress. It then breaks open and goes into your nearby sweat gland, making you sweat blood. The soldiers took him, and he came before the court. Pontius Pilate wanted to not kill him, so had him scourged to calm the people.

Scourging involves two soldiers taking turns hitting someone in the shoulder and upper back and neck with a whip that cut to your muscle with chicken bones then bruises it with chunks of iron. It is also believed that he already had had the crown of thorns forced on his head, cutting open the skin in his temples, and letting the blood from his severed veins pour out. I am not going to continue though, cause I think I am boring you guys now.

Ok. Let me rephrase. Most people believe that their religion is the right religion, and only they can decide that for themselves based on their beliefs, morals, and access to the information around them. So you can't objectively discount any particular religion, because there is no hard evidence that any particular religion is, beyond a shadow of a doubt, fact. All you have is what you personally believe to be correct, your faith.Tonytlj add:TLJ wrote:

Don't confuse the original 12 apostles with the authors of the new testament. It's a common mistake. None of them had ever met, and there was no Wikipedia back then. It's just a bunch of nice stories. The Catholic Church admits as much.
But if it's no walk in the park, then it's not for me. Walking in the park is easy, fun, and available to anyone with clothes on.

Problem is Christians seek to get into legislature and control others morals requiring everyone to be morally a christian. Disgusting thing is they've succeeded

I would argue that it has been historically outlawed, and simply remains outlawed. The accusation is that the Christians, (not the Jews or Muslims, by the way..), are infiltrating our legislatures to change the law. Also, many states put it up for referendum, and it did not become legal based on democratic vote.
