For those of you who have seen the Hunger Games

Ok ok ok, it's spelled "peeta", her's is "katniss". Congratulations, you guys read the book and know how to spell the names of characters the director of the MOVIE deemed it unnecessary to inform the rest of us. And don't forget... Your sensei chicken also said there were many inconsistencies as well, and he is a knob-slobberin fanboy of a movie that is NOT based on a book. What's that say about you asa protégé?
-
Chiken- it just occurred to me I've been misspelling your moniker as well, but shocker, you still knew whom I was addressing. So spelling a made up name like "peeta" as "peeter" is quite inconsequential huh? And what would suggest to you I didn't know Cato was hoping to drag peeta down with him, he said that line directly and I mentioned it at length as well. Even clearly stating him getting shot in the eye would drag (peeter) down with him ending the game and ceasing the need for the simulated mutts. See, I understood the half-dozen things in the film that were ment to be understood by everyone, it's just the other sixteen million things that were only understood by people who wasted time and money on reading the book first I didn't get.
-
So now I'm a dumb-fuck, dumb-ass with smart-ass remarks? That makes perfect sense, you must have written the screenplay for which this whole discussion revolves, or should revolve, cause you can't let go of the forest for the trees. And yes it would be a nice FU to the capital to commit suicide, but it would have been a bigger FUCKOFF to her sister/mother for which she had already sacrificed so much. In duplicity by lying to them about her intentions to win, and depriving them of the comfort her victory could have brought.
-
And Cato was in bad shape, yup that was described as well by the heroine destroying the food and supplies. But peeta was also pretty banged up, couldn't even walk a few frames before. Had to be carried by katniss until the simulated mutations showed up, and of course they showed his strength when he chucked that ball during the 'training montage'. All true, but Cato was trained all day everyday since birth to be a badass and win that event. And something tells me strength training was part of his curriculum, mitigating at least some of the advantage the cake decorator may have had. Dehydrated, disoriented, injured maybe... But still a formidable opponent to a strong, equally injured, dehydrated peeta. It just seemed so lame that he was overpowered so easily. And if peeta was so superior to Cato in the final seconds... Why was Cato able to subdue him (with katniss right there I might add) with such ease in the first place?

If the movie is a cinematic version of the book, that needs to be advertised. Like my precious comment from before. I still disagree, movies are not books, and VV. But that horse is long dead and I'm gunna stop beating it cause you want to see it your way regardless of the fact that it IS a MOVIE, you saw it in a THEATER, not the LIBRARY. If the publishers want to exclude the non-readers from their profit margins than that's their prerogative.
-
And if an 11 year old is entertained by this tripe, maybe that is indicative of the intended adolescent demographic? I have a 2 year old niece that is enthralled by teletubbies, but I wouldn't go around bragging about her taste in high-brow culture because of it. And again you're reiterating my point, they weren't in love, she wasn't even interested in him apart from placating sponsors. Making the whole interaction disingenuous. I SAID THAT ALREADY!
-
I don't know what trolling is, but if I had to guess its splashing a thread with unrelated crap to piss people off. Are you so obtuse as to misconstrue the serious contention of my comments? YOU the one reducing your argument to childish name calling, broadcasting your immaturity to the few people who have stuck it out this long with us. I could take the low road with you and tell you to shampoo my taint and braid my butthole hairs, but I am a grownup and will continue to conduct myself as such.
-
And I said the story was decent in my very first post, the director just 'late term aborted' what could have been a decent flick. And anyone who is not afflicted with dementia or already a mongoloid would never support MOVIES that require homework to understand. Homework is for college, not for my free time to improve my understanding of a full length motion picture. And what win? Who is gunna win or lose anything? This is not a competition, only you choose to get hostile so only you could LOSE anything since there is nothing to win. You'll wake up tomorrow and still think what you do about the movie (and book, two SEPARATE things), I was never going to convince you to see things my way, nor was I trying to. And I'll wake up tomorrow and go to my elective surgery, (I'm having my wiener shortened).
-
Finally. Someone who will dedicate hours to make it undoubtably known that their point of view is superior with logical and educated responses. I applaud you for putting in the effort to smash another's opinion so thoroughly on the topic of a teenage movie. By the power invested in me by my popcorn and lawnchair, I declare Haze master debater on topics concerning The Hunger Games Movie.
-
Thanks crunch, hey, my wiener shortening surgery is a BOGO so if you're interested in donating an inch or two to these dullards and sparing yourself the dreaded dragging glans jus lemme know.

Read the book if you want to know what the salute is..And why did she care when Rue died? Didn't they all have to die for the story to reach a logical conclusion, was she under the impression that all her friends would survive the ordeal? Those issues along with so many inconsistencies like why did they never revisit the social unrest shown after catness signaled Rues district? And what the hell is that three finger salute anyway?

Thank you! People are so dumb to comment about what they didn't get about the movie if they haven't read the books!Read the fucking book, dumbass.
1. You're spelling Katniss wrong.
2. The "wolves" were actually genetically altered mutts.
3. The salute was a respect to her district.
4. District 11 has more of a backstory to it, so i suggest you READ. THE. BOOK.
5. She didn't want riches and fame, dumbfuck. She wanted to destroy the grip the capitol had over her, and if suicide meant that, then that was that.
6. It's a movie made after a book by a highly acreditted author.
That being said it's pretty much expected you've read the book. I mean, it's not even that long. If you're not intelligent enough to read a book you're just killing more brain cells watching a movie that obviously was more complicated than what you could comprehend. -

Lol on the last part!!!7. If you'd have payed attention, she disoriented the mutts.
8. IF YOU'D PAYED ATTENTION, you'd know that Peeta was being used as a bullet monkey, and that was all she could do without killing peeta.
9. Those "inconsistencies" you speak of are all addressed in the second book, which you probably won't understand either because your thick skull will only be thinking of how bad it is, rather than trying to understand it.All tha being said, you did get one thing right.
Jennifer Lawrence is hot. -

Ok... I thank you for defending my thread bit one comment... SHE???!!!!!!!!! I'm a guy thank you! Don't go assuming things that you don't know please >:3Oh chicken, I'm SO glad there are people like you in this world. If I found a genie ina bottle, you'd be my third wish. Thank you SO much for making my point by missing my point. I also don't believe you've read the book either, you're obviously illiterate since this thread was titled "for those of you who have SEEN the hungergames". Operative word being 'seen', as opposed to 'read'. You're disrespecting Evanescence, she started this to talk about a MOVIE, and here you and your cronies are rambling about something that should be totally unrelated... A book. Just like two people with the same name, they are not the same person. The title of the book and movie were alike, but a book is not a movie, and vica versa.
-
"8. I don't know what a "bullet monkey" is, (another thing not laid out to non-readers) but my point remains."
That is laid out to EVERYONE because it's a common term..

I saw TW movie with 10 other people who had never read the book, and they understood it perfectly. And a sane person can DEFINITELY say try weren't simulations because simulations can't kill. The arena is not a simulation. Everything I tr arena is wired, and most of the creatures are genetically altered. And (this is by far the stupidest thing you said) they didn't mutate to have wings because that's not how mutating WORKS. They can't instantly mutate into something new. Oh, and great job calling me a "retard".

Evenescence- sorry for wrongfully assuming your gender, I guess I always equate that band with feminine energy, casue I wanna stir Amy Lee's cervix. My mistake and I sincerely apologize. Do you honestly think that books should be prerequisite for movies of the same title? Isn't it annoying when people always run around afterwards saying "the book was better!" dontcha wanna just crush their souls for trying to front about how much more they know about the story than everyone else like some pseudo intellectual posers? Let movie goers enjoy the MOVIE and book readers enjoy the books.
-
It so rude and improperly placed energy, but if you agree than that's your opinion and by definition can't be wrong. You just titled your thread "seen", not read. So a proper assumption would be it regarded the movie, not the book. Untamed- if "bullet monkey" is in such wide usage, why hasn't goggle or urban dictionary heard of it yet? Granted those are new websites, so they might have not caught up yet with your hip lingo, eh stud? And I never called you a retard, I said I fear you may have "gone full retard", a quote from a great movie, tropic thunder. But you're so sharpe on popular culture I'm sure you didn't need to hear that from me. And I thought you were mr. Smarty pants with your quoting on forums?

And not to define a word with the same word... But mutants... Mutate. So if they could mutate once, they could do it again. And I wasn't saying they did grow wings, I was saying it left a major hole in the story when they didn't go after the tributes any way they could, since they were portrayed as snarling beasts. And "mutating" would seem like a logical next step, since after all mutants mutate. And of course they were simulations, that is not up for debate. The movie showed them being generated by the computer, hence their simulated status. NEXT!!!
-
I do agree with you haze... And thank you for the apology and I can see why you made that mistake... I was just pissed at another person in my life and so I responded to rashly to be sincere with it. And I do agree that I said SEEN instead of READ. And I do agree with what you have said. Thank you for sharing your opinions with us. I posted this thread to see what other people thought of the movie and I got a GREAT response from you, untamed, and chicken. Thank you all for replying!

They left out a few details, but nothing major. I wish they talked more of her life in district twelve. And the action scenes would make no sense without reading the book. In fact, the entire movie would be hard to follow without the book.

The Book was Better...lol
They had Haymitch wrong in the movie:( -
I never claimed to be "hip" I just thought bullet monkey was a widely used term. And I've never seen Tropic Thunder. Mutants don't sporadically mutate, they have some mutation that changes them. I guess "genetically altered" would have been a better term than mutated. The. Imputed didn't generate them, just brought them into the arena. And has been said many times, you can't know everything about it if you haven't read the book, since the movie IS supposed to be the book. In the book, they weren't simulations, so in the movie they weren't simulations either. All muttations are real. Muttations were invented during the rebellion to combat the rebels. The tracker jackers are muttations, and the mockingjays are half muttation "jabberjay" and half mockingbird.

Holy shit, this is ridiculous.
