A HUGE chunk of matter, but relatively small compared to the size of the universe, because of how much pressure was on it, and how compact it was.Actually the big bang happened when a chunk of matter exploded. We can't answer your question conclusively anymore than you can answer mine.

That is a question we simply can not answer. For all we know our Universe might have been created from a physically existing mechanism that is untold trillions or so years old that is so large and hard to discover we may never discover it or grasp what we discover.UnknownAssassin wrote:

Basically what caused the big bang to happen might be in fact a physical thing but what it is, where that came from, or if we will ever discover it might be impossible. Kyat because we dobt know of something doesn't mean it doesn't exist. The evidence of discovering such a thing or things might be impossible to find or finding a way to discover this evidence might never be found or not in our life times realistically.

we can't know what caused the big bang because it was on the other side of a singularity, which is a barrier to any sort of information. Like the event horizon of a black hole, matter, light, information cannot cross it.

I believe god made the big bang, said whoah and steped back and watched. That's my basic beliefs. Don't get me wrong, I have a lot of really nice Christian friends etc.

Exactly, where would god have come from? He can't just have appeared out of thin air.Mr. Beefy0 wrote:
