Regarding tapping for interstates/motorways - we're going to allow this after the cutoff date.
The Interstate/Motorway issue isn't a Turf Wars tech issue - it's the current geocoder that doesn't like em. We think you should be able to build turfs off off them, and we'll do our best to make sure that the future geocoder update supports them. However, this isn't a guarantee since the geocoder tech is out of our control.
Any change made to the geo system has gameplay effects outside of the exploits it targets, and we'll do our best to minimize the collateral damage.

I'll take that interstate answer to a yes the natural land bridge between north America and Russia across the Bering strait is considered an interstate while frozen over... Everest here I come... Well in the late fall when it's a road not abidy of water... Yay... 🚕

Is building on shipping lanes bannable? As far as I know it doesn't use the tap tap method

Ahh well gotta leave my mark on the game somehow... Bad Cabbie Bad... I personally think it should be allowed its fair for all and it allows us to travel without spending airfare... Turf hopping is turf hopping land or sea... Not sure why it's such a big deal... But hey as a loyal paying customer what rights do I have... Play without flaws or leave... Gotta say it's a first and kinda cool that a dev offers an ultimatum to his loyal fan base... Big kahunas... Big props to you Nick... Best app I've ever owned... Now you need to design a wwwiii gps based game so we can have an axis and allies style game with boats and planes and.. Ok I'm rambling... 🚕

@psi, regarding newbies, Nick already stated there's a technical solution in the works at which point banning will become moot.
@rob🚕, you're a paying customer, but not a partner or stockholder. Besides, you said you already have turf off the island, that aren't on the water.
@anyone, I had never heard of the tap tap whatever method until this thread. In the last week or so I did see several people mention being able to build on water. There were also suddenly lots of threads about traveling/exploring the world. (Yes I wondered how these things were possible but hadn't gotten around to asking yet.) I'm not sure who figured out the exploit or when, but it seems like suddenly it just exploded. See part 2... -
Just leave it alone Nick. Don't change it. I don't place on water but if others want to then good for them. Plus, I like knowing that there is an option if I wanted to. Rather than tear down the turfs and disallow this, just publish a sticky explaining how it can be done, than anyone who wants to can do it.

Personally I'm not into cheating. Regardless of whether you call the exploit cheating or not, lots of people went to extremes & advertised about it! I mean, hello? If you used it a little & didn't post about it, who knows if or how long it might have been until it was an issue. Instead, it was taken to obvious extremes & then bragged/posted about. Someone was even talking about starting a traveling club.
1) If you think it might be cheating, use the feedback button to ask Nick first.
2) If you think it's a grey area & refuse to ask permission first, don't overdo it. People didn't just push the envelope here, they ripped it to shreds!
3) If you do overdo the exploit & post about it, expect to a) be caught, b) cause a major issue to be brought to light, or c) both a & b. Regardless, be prepared to accept the consequences! -
Ahh but keep the secret to a select few would be an unfair advantage... But very fair if all know the trick I didn't create the so called exploit I just exposed it for all... Fairer don't ya think... 🚕
