I'm hopping up the Atlantic coast while I still can!

Smart yes... But I call it like I see it... Players punished for there location also players that can afford... Turf hopping takes cash... I sit on a stale island turf capped collecting vurtual cash for what... Best order of business is MANAGE don't CONTROL... 🚕
-
What is the cheat?
-
Devil I feel for you mate, love the island coverage but you are not going to have a cent left. Just out of interest how much do these turfs earn you??
-
Hmmmmmmmm... I like my water turfs...

well said. I see nothing good in this new system. All my turfs are on the water or on an otherwise inaccessible island. I have them there so they're out of reach of other players allowing me to sell my weapons and earn money while taking a break from the game. It's not taking advantage of anything or harming any other players. If you remove them all you're also removing me from the game just as a function of deleting all my turfs.
Who is this new policy actually helping? It seems like it will be hindering a great many players while alleviating the doubts of a few.

@Newbie Not much, I estimated 2 million after they were all built. I was a great farm too, several players farm me pretty regularly, I feel respectfully. So they'll be losing out as well.
@GOD OF WAR Thanks. I assume Nick has thought it through but I feel like it's being done just to shut a few users up who bother him. I'm sure in some cases people have been able to use this to take advantage but can't imagine it's much worse then any other trick tactic.
Because any player can do it, with out adding anything to the game, such as jail breaking or running men in the middle, it's not an exploit. It maybe taking advantage of a bug or fail case with mapkit and it may be outside what Nick saw as acceptable but I feel it's an enriching and fun part of the game and certainly much more is lost then gained by banning it.
-
Just because they can't be arsed to put in time to mob up or turf hop, we (the people who have unfortunately put time and effort in) are being punished?
It doesn't take a genius to manage money in this game so there isn't an excuse there. -
I think shipping lanes SHOULD be allowed as motorways are almost impossible to build on

yep. And it creates a huge gray area. With the geocoder being messed up we are being trapped in small areas. My big project was to go up north to await your return@GOD OF WAR Thanks. And you don't consider that an unfair advantage?
What if the player in Kansas City wanted to tale a break from the game?

So if we place a turf with one tap we should be ok right ?
o think what thuggy is really asking is "is it ok to exploit geocoder outages to place turf even though we can place those turfs with a single tap?"

I guarantee there are road-less expanses in Kansas or any region, which you can only build on using the tap tap tap method. The fact that it's on water is only meaningful to us looking at it. The map, I believe, just sees it as an area with out roads, which Kansas has plenty of and so does everywhere else.

If this issue will be terminated with the nonallowing of waterturf hopping, then the mule accounts should be banned. Altho it would be hard to detect an account that it is really a mule.
Maybe a timer should be set for how long the turf can be on water.. And not complete banning
-
It's not an exploit if everyone can do it... 🚕
-
The Devil: this rule is targeting exactly the kind of thing you're doing on the Farallons. You took advantage in a flaw in the system to place turfs where no one (save trained scientists) can go. Because of this you can be the capo of San Francisco without even having a turf in the actual city. Explain how this is fair.
GOD OF WAR: you're based in the LA/Orange County area - there are thousands of players in the area you can interact with. You can turf hop all around SoCal without running afoul of this rule.
Rob the Cabbie - you have turf all over the Vancouver area - outside of that area where would you hop to?This rule is going into effect because the current setup is unsatisfactory to the game in general. Those people with turf being deleted by this new rule knew what they were doing was a gray area when they were doing it - the bottom line is you benefited from an exploit. Glad you enjoyed it while it lasted.

I think everyone is tired of cheaters and exploiters using shortcuts to rise to the top. Many of the most Legendary Turf Wars players were on top because they were good without having to exploit. If you think you can't play the game without exploiting know flaws, all I can say is thanks for playing!.

It IS an exploit since the vast majority of people don't do it.
-
The mass majority didnt know it could be done... Yes I have turf in Vancouver now... Cuz I walked on water to expand... But if I had not... Trapped on an island I would be... I do appreciate tge replies nick... 🚕

i do feel that some people, like naval officers, are being somewhat shafted. their 'turf' is the water, no?
i want a turf that sits on my boat and goes with me 😝
@Putz : i agree w/u but come on, interjecting it into every conversation is only hurting the strength of your argument.
@nick : when it goes this way i think at the very least a better reward for the teardowns is in order. unless you meant that the full paid amount to build the aquaturfs is being refunded?

The point of restricting turfs from being created over water is it makes no sense to have turf on water. This is a mafia game, not Floating Casino Tycoon.
-
Yes Nick I know there are alot of players here. Almost all are noobs or friends. I can't get a challenge in this area. Why is that hard to understand. If youvare calling tapping an exploit fine no problem but there is no way out of the state without it. All I ask is that you give us something
-
Cool beans nick
-
Personally I hop on and over water for fun and to mess around but I do see what nick is saying about people using it to gain an advantage.
I just hope that hopping over land in "undetermined" areas is not considered an exploit as it seems like the only way to semi eaisly get to other players and interact. I trust that nick will be fair in his future decisions regarding this issue.
-
So the land bridge from north america to russia over the bering strait is driveable 6 months of the year... Will I be banned if I use this natural bridge when it's open...? 🚕

All due respect, I just cannot sympathize with you on this one. Sorry, bud.
