Um, hello, long time player, first time poster here, I was just wondering, my name is Nemo, I'm an officer in the Atlantis navy, I am a great fan of tw, but I fear this new ruling may affect all my turfs due to my persistent, sub aqua life style & I'm fairly sure my fellow syndicate member don ariel and papa Neptune may also be a little put out, as their terra firma outings are fairly limited, could you make exceptions for some of your dedicated, marine based thugs? 🐳
Unfortunately, the geocoder does not currently map the underwater streets of Atlantis. Perhaps when a reliable method of fending off giant squids is devised it will be added.

nick this does concern me. i could understand mandatory deletion but banning? as a touch user i have to hop to survive. theres no alternative. now im actually scared to hop. Seems like just another way to give even more advantages to the phone users
-
So things like hopping over a river will be considered cheating?

What about building on small or large for that matter bridges like the bay bridge in Maryland cause it would take a long time to turf hop around the bay
-
Use it just don't abuse it and you should be safe..... I think

Your concern is justified - no one wants to be banned because they accidentally placed a turf over water. Just like when players appear to be spoofing their GPS location, we will consider each case and act accordingly.
We have a technical solution in the works that will invalidate this exploit anyway, so at that point the banning issue will be moot.

From what I've seen, the geocoder will let you build on water provided there is a road nearby.
I have several turfs just off shore that were built in this manner. They look to be nomore than about a hundred feet or do off shore and close enough to a road to allow their building.
I would assume these turfs are allowed?
I do have a turf 30 miles out to sea that I built by hopping during periods of geocoder outage. I know that turf will begiing away.
But I will not let the ban hammer take it. I'm going to swim out there and strap a side of beef to my little swimmer....let the sharks take it.

Alrite Nick if this "geocoder" won't let us build on water then why won't it let us build like on highways wen it says it has to be on a street?

I sent him to the hospital for you Nick.
Please read the thread before repeating the same questions that have already been answered.

Question Ur banning water turfs fine. What about anything else that was built with multitap like a highway or in a park with no roads are these allowed to remain for now or should we not have anything like this in place after 7 jun
-
So we're not allowed to hop at all?

Nothing's wrong with turf hopping, it's a major part of the game. Turf hopping over large bodies of water or other areas the geocoder disallows turf building is what we're cracking down on.
-
All good Nick. I would have ablidged and removed my few turf that are on H2O. But if your just going to tear them down and credit us I'm fine with that. Thanks.
-
If I do find myself facing a "grey" area. Should we proceed and call your attention to said turf in question. Or ask before we venture on? Whichever you prefer.

so nick are you saying using the tap glitch whatsoever os wrong or just on water? without tyat glitch i am stuck in a pretty remote area on an itouch so no hope of ever getting out.
-
So if we place a turf with one tap we should be ok right ?

if you're going to consider interstate hopping an exploit then that's basically what you're saying. Many like myself are located in states where not much ever goes on. Many are even worse off than me. Nick we have to have some hope of escaping these dead areas. If you're going to do this then we need plane tickets a.s.a.p.ate wrote:

I live on an island.. I'm supposed to pay 140 bucks round trip on a ferry to lay turf..? So I get punished as do others fir the location I live in... Seems kinda unfair... I turf hopped the water to expand and continue playing tw... Being force to stay where I am due to a water barrier seems a bit unfair... I guess you wouldn't know unless you were in our shoes... Just my 2 cents... Kinda like animal farm... All are equal but sine are more equal... Just my 2 cents... 🚕
-
All my turfs are on the water or on an otherwise inaccessible island. I have them there so they're out of reach of other players allowing me to sell my weapons and earn money while taking a break from the game. It's not taking advantage of anything or harming any other players. If you remove them all you're also removing me from the game just as a function of deleting all my turfs.
Who is this new policy actually helping? It seems like it will be hindering a great many players while alleviating the doubts of a few.

Animal farm bro... Animal farm... 🚕
