Martial arts anyone?

I'd rather settle things with a gun than diplomacyI've studied martial arts for 24years. My styles of discipline include kyukoshin karate, aikido, judo, jui jitsu (both Japanese and Brazilian styles) muy Thai kickboxing, Greco roman wrestling, and krav magaa......I also own an extensive collection of firearms but would rather settle a dispute through diplomacy, communication, and maturity.....
Martial arts are great for many thing BESIDES fighting! And are DEFINATELY not obsolete! Anyone who thinks so has spent too much time on TW and not enough time in the real world......

Well martial arts do come in handy if you are faced with a "up close and personal" situation. Also if your attacker comes at you without you knowing and you to get in a fist fight martial arts works fine to. But if your at a distance I suggest you flash "Precious" at them and show that you intend to use it.🔎Ϯʜė IɴsǷeʗ†oŗ🔫 wrote:
*facepalm* not you to inspector 😪😓Why spend money on lessons each month when you can go to the store get some 44s and learn instantly how to defend yourself? And also to scare the living 💩 out of your attacker, from a distance...😏

Thanks for saving the rest of us from having to write this. Now it's only excessive? That makes no sense B. Go enlist, go 11B, head off to Fort Benning for OSUT and I'll see you in four months when you get back. Let's see what you say then. You don't know what you're talking about.

Do what you want. I'd personally rather become more proficient in fire arms than wasting my time

Ok thankyou for making more sense that belial, you are right in hand to hand if your being attacked in an elevator, Or even if they have a gun at your head, but if your being held up 15 ft away then martial arts won't help you then.💣ㅆⅈʂʗℌⅈミƑ🔫 wrote:

Buying a gun doesn't teach you to "instantly defend yourself" martial arts has taught me how to disarm a gunman safely at close range. It happened to be useful on my first trip to new York when an armed man approached me and a fellow mma fighter. He was disarmed and detained while my friend went for police. Why spend money on lessons each month when you can go to the store get some 44s and learn instantly how to defend yourself? Mma-1 gunman-20(years that is)
So in essence....guns work, but so does mma. He who has both wins!

Once again I'm proficient in just about any weapon including any style nige or sword you can name. I just don't see the honor in fighting bare fisted

And belial, if you want to see something crazy look up John Chang Nei Kung on YouTube it's a 9 minute video (watch it all). This is a real video, no special effects. Also Nei kung is a part of some martial arts like baguazhang, hsing I, and more.

I've taken tae kwon do, Shaolin kung-fu, and boxing. I keep telling myself I'm going to start in Muay Thai soon also.
As for fighting vs. guns, I'd rather lose a fight than win a gun battle.

Just saying, if your any kind of gunman, noone should get close, right? I prefer close range weapons myself.. Knives, swords, clubs, and of course, Axe... I know 2/4 of these aren't exactly normal to carry, but the dosent mean i won't get the chance ;)

Apparently you didnt see that the man had blocked the bullet. And that's not useful in the real world, last time I checked blocking a bulle would be real useful in the real world.💣ㅆⅈʂʗℌⅈミƑ🔫 wrote:

Yes, as I said in my last post guns help with long distant attackers, ma help when your suprized, or they are close to you, or your gun gets knocked away. Now I'm not saying that ma is a "waste" because it can help you in some situations. Now I'm not the black belt teacher here but it is better to be able to say "I payed for something that I will rarely have to use this out in the world, but I have it just incase." then saying "I felt that since I won't be able to use it as much so I won't pay for it and take my chances." either way they are both helpful as you said. It teaches you "stuff"(I can't list) and guns fill the empty spot under my arm in my suit jacket. Also I love my gun so much.😁

Ok, let's step into reality here. I've been in lots of fights. A lot. I've won some, lost some. Yet, I'm still here, turfing with you guys.
What if I had shot any of the guys I've fought? Right, I wouldn't be here. I'd be locked up, where it definitely pays to be able to fight.

Remington with Tazer bullets. Solves all attacker problems, especially ones who might kill you with their fists.

Technically speaking marksmanship can be considered a weapon art, I mean archery was considered a martial art.
