B, martial arts helps you out alot. Such as enabling you to use the self defense card WITHOUT killing anyone e going to jail. Also guns can jam up on you. A properly executed palm, elbow, or knee won't.
I've trained with my cousin for about 8 years entering different martial arts trying to cram them all in at once (don't do it, it's hard as hell)
Brazilian jujitsu
Boxing
Kick boxing
Taikwondo
Moirai
Car rateAnd my favorite
NINJITSU ^.^

I haven't lost a thing. Armed forces learn martial arts as a form of exercise. It's aerobics and nothin more

Why spend money on lessons each month when you can go to the store get some 44s and learn instantly how to defend yourself? And also to scare the living 💩 out of your attacker, from a distance...😏
-
I use to think just like you B, when I first got to basic I thought "why the F do I need to learn this dumb crap, I have my M4". But i learned when you put on 70 pounds of body armor and the other crap you need and go to clear a confined house it's not that simple. Some insurgent is hiding behind the corner, jumps out and catches you off gaurd and he's too close to effectively use your weapon, what do you do? Ask him nicely to step back so you can shoot him? No, you use the MMA that you've been taught, and not only can it save your life but your buddies too. Don't get me wrong, shooting a human sized target at 1000 meters takes skill, It takes a lot of skill but come on, that's hardly the case! In Iraq almost all fighting took place in urban settings, with house fighting taking place all the time. MMA IS needed today and it's not outdated.

Now it's only excessive? That makes no sense B. Go enlist, go 11B, head off to Fort Benning for OSUT and I'll see you in four months when you get back. Let's see what you say then. You don't know what you're talking about.

I've studied martial arts for 24years. My styles of discipline include kyukoshin karate, aikido, judo, jui jitsu (both Japanese and Brazilian styles) muy Thai kickboxing, Greco roman wrestling, and krav magaa......I also own an extensive collection of firearms but would rather settle a dispute through diplomacy, communication, and maturity.....
Martial arts are great for many thing BESIDES fighting! And are DEFINATELY not obsolete! Anyone who thinks so has spent too much time on TW and not enough time in the real world......
