not exactly what I said. I said it helped me through the hardest times. Luckily my life has had many good points also. Though more often than not these have been born out of succeeding in hardship. The Rhino wrote:

Did you not read my (longer) posts??But yes my belife is ultimately born out of feeling. As it is with virtually everyone else. As logical thinking leads only to agnosticism
-
Yes, I agree. Lose the logic. Of course.
-
Think like a simple mind.
-
In fact even then true agnosticism is not possible in my oppinion. Even those sitting on the fence choose a side they look on more eagerly. And this is again the spawn of feeling

life is too short to chase rainbows.Logic leads to a realisation of defeat. If your not there yet carry on searching, if you think you are at another conclusion, great! But it's not purely logical I assue you.
I have reached the end of my journey through logic on this subject. Acceptance of the unkown is not rejecting logic, it's embracing it

I base it on probability. I don't know if a god exists, but I see the existence of a deity as highly unlikely, unlikely enough for me to live my life as though there is no god. You aren't accepting the unknown. You just replace it with a silly story that allows you to feel comfortable with what you don't know.

oppinionated probobility is all any of us can hope for. But it's only subjective and we must be aware if we wish to be honest.

However determining if the biblical god is good or not is not so clear cut. There are hundreds of interpretations, massivly reasurched that take a lifetime to study. Yet I'm always intreigued that (strong) atheists think of the bible in it's darkest and easiest to oppose interpretation... As with all other religious scripts for that matter. A closed mind will find the path that supports it the most I guess.
-
I'm agnonstic so I'm not sure whether god exists as there isn't any evidence to prove He or heaven exists. Therefore I'm not sure, I hope there is and there better be turfwars there!

Actually I didn't really mean to refer to the Bible. "Christo-Judean" would have been a better word to use. I just find the seeming apathy of God towards the world to be morally unacceptableHowever determining if the biblical god is good or not is not so clear cut. I agree. Your god is an evil being. He gave us AIDS, cancer, murder, greed, rapists, loss and death. How can you admire his deeds.

it's called a faith, you don't need evidence, you just need faith.Do you have any evidence for the existence of heaven?

What is your "faith" anchored to if you simply believe it for it's own sake? Couldn't you just as easily be a Muslim, Hindu, Mormon, Scientologist etc? What is this faith of yours, besides wholeheartedly agreeing with what someone else says, without a moment's thought?Scroobius Pip wrote:

You misunderstood me, but it doesn't matter right now. You've told me what you believe, but can you tell me why you believe it?

Excuse the example but it's all I can think of. -

firstly. Your critisising me for something all humans are influenced by including yourself ive just been honest enough to admit it. so thanksfor that gem.
Secondly... -
I haven't said anything about any story... Seems like your putting words in my mouth. Seems like your the one living in a make belive world.
Your arguments are I'll informed and your arrogent. If you can't back your arguments up with some sort of logic I'm not waisting anymore time on you

Ps Scroobius I hope you are not out to make people renounce their faith as religion is one of the few things in the world that causes good in mankin. Despite the bad things it can cause. -
I didn't say it had to be a physical description. More along the lines of, "Whom is he? What can he do? What does he do?" etc
