Don't punish loyal players

NOW, where does that take us. The vets don't want to loose all that work put into this game and new guys aren't going to put all that work into this game once they catch on to how difficult it is to move up in mob count. We all know that with every month that passes, there are going to be more and more players that will not ever come back to this game. So it comes down to basically giving the people that started the game earlier the ONLY advantage to be on top. IMO, that's not right.

What I propose is NOT to delete or reset the innactive accounts but to create some sort of auto invite system. Yea, I know, alot of ppl think it will cause a stale mate, which it will in a way, but don't we already have that now with ppl that have 2500-3000 mob? ALSO, this can be corrected in other ways to prevent having stale mates and not being able to attack someone that is only a couple hundred more mob than u. One idea has already been mentioned and it has to do with the attack/deffense stats. It's not like they mean anything now anyway. Do something with that.

Where is the competitive edge to be the best at this game Matt? Is it longevity? Does that make since?

Widowmaker, that is true & is a perfectly valid point. However, if inactive players are removed then theoretically everyone would have the potential to have the same mob size which would cause a stalemate because of the 30% factor. I know it would never come to that because not everyone would put the same time & effort into building their mobs.
I started a couple of months after launch & have grown to a point where only a couple of the top dogs could take me out. There are players that started after me in my area who have grown to a point where I can't beat them without RPG's.
My point is new players CAN get to a point where they can defend against many of the veteran players just not beat them; which IS only fair...that's what vendettas are for anyway.
In the SD County area, I would say there are 40-50 different mobs & I can point out at least 10 that are inactive; that's roughly 20% of my mob lost to inactive accounts if applied as a 10 out of 50 factor.

Btw, I just looked at when the avg ppl started that are on the top 10 mob count list and it starts around the 1st of October the top half and goes to around mid November for the bottom top 10. There is about a 200 mob gap between the #2 spot to the #10 spot. And I'm sure all those top ten guys are constantly punching in codes b/c the same names have been there since I've started. That kinda gives u an idea of the increasing mob gap. Just FYI, I didn't count Pres Nixon in any of that. With him being around 400 mob from 2nd place, I'm not sure what the hell he's doing.

I completely agree with this...att/def should be more of a factor & there shouldd be a one-time only reset to allow the reassignment of skill points for those people who knew they were not a factor and didn't use them for that.
I also agree there should be some limitation on who can attack who, because not everyone is honorable. There are measures in place; help from the Don, 10% influence, 30% mob size which I guess is not really a benefit to the lesser mob, just means bigger mobs are picking on you.

Keep in mind matt that my proposal is not to get rid of the innactives but to pay forward the dedication that us given whether u are a vet or new. And with the gap widening as time goes by, it creates a short play time for this game. This is y i think auto accepting invites is necessary but also creating a way to where everone that puts forth the work is benefitted. You have to also keep in mind that just because I started a few months after the game launched, I'm certain that u have punched in nearly the same amount of codes that the top 10 ppl have meaning I have put in just as much work because the codes haven't gone anywhere, they're still there. It's all based on who started before who.

Unfortunately it is longevity that makes you best at this game...but it is as with anything; the master will always (generally speaking) be better than the apprentice. Even when the apprentice becomes a master themself, they will still be less experienced than their former master. Of course there are exceptions & when the older more experienced master steps down the new generation steps up in their place.Where is the competitive edge to be the best at this game Matt? Is it longevity? Does that make since?
what a cheesy analogy...you would think I'm TUI'ing, but I'm not.

U guys pls reply agree to my post about nick acknowledging all these suggestions, at least the good ideas that have been brought to the table. We have no idea if he is reading this stuff and I would LOVE to get his input on this subject instead of just asking what other leaderboard stats we would like.

Anyway, I already know I'll never be able to compete with anyone in the top ten until they go inactive or reset themselves & I would never expect to.
The leaderboards are essentially useless to 90% of us playing which is why I suggested to increase the top count to 100 in each category..this would increase my own competitiveness.

So what it boils down to is you want the playing field to be leveled in such a way that new players have the same opportunity to reach the levels that veteran players & be able to compete with them?U guys pls reply agree to my post about nick acknowledging all these suggestions, at least the good ideas that have been brought to the table. I'm sure Nick reads everything in here, especially in the suggestions & feedback area.
Good conversation btw, I always enjoy an intelligible, civilized conversation!

My final thought (I know you probably won't agree with this) is that newer players shouldn't catch up to the veterans that are 'actively' playing.
Think about a footbal analogy: Compare some of the stats of Peyton Manning against Brett Favre...Manning will NEVER catch up to Favre in any stats as long as Favre is still actively playing because he's been playing for longer, bottom line; that's Farve's legacy. Once Farve retires (still up in the air last I heard) then the gap will start closing on many of their stats.
-
Very true and good analogy but..... even with farve's stats, the Colts have beaten them a number of times. I know u seen that one coming. Basically having a better mob count than others is just a stat, the problem is that one stat makes u or breaks u. Needs more diversity in the competition aspect of this game. And I know something can be figured out b/c there is alot of money spent on this game. Especially with the ppl that say they bought every points pkg... I mean damn, that's over $200.00. IMO, but that is crazy to spend on a game that is based off if one stat to depend on how successful u r.

And yes, inteligable and civilized coversations actually get thing done. Ty for having this conversation with me and not go ape shit and start cursing and saying that what I'm saying is stupid or bulshit. Lol

Yeah, I think we've managed to address many of the concerns on each side...maybe we just need someone to take a few steps out of the woods here, see the forest & come up with some reasonable suggestions. And yes, inteligable and civilized coversations actually get thing done. Maybe there is no reasonable solution that would make everyone happy...but I'm certain there must be someting that would satisfy everyone as a compromise or trade-off.

Maybe instead of deleting them as mob members, they decay. Maybe 1% a day after 30 days o inactivity?
-
I wouldn't be completely against taking accounts out of the mobs that have been inactive for 6 to 8 months. This would give new players a little chance without hurting the veterans too badly. Also a little less chance of the mobs equalizing with this time frame
