Make Mobbing Up More Fair

I think this is a great idea, even though I'd be screwed by it more than just about anyone. You go 2000 miles and you hit thousands of turf. I go 2000 miles in ANY direction, and I'm still surrounded by water.

It's gps component. Big players like me can hop or travel anywhere we like an take over. Game needs to take your gps location into account when calculating attacks. The furthe away you are from your target, the less the odds of success. That would help equalize things. We could still travel butthe locals would have homefield advantage. My mob would have to be even larger to compensate. You have more people closer to your size than anywhere else on the map. This game is as boring or as exciting as you make it.

The more I think about diets plan the less I like it. Reason why is many of us come from crappy areas. To name am example my home city has less than 20 turf total within it. With this plan even hopping or traveling womt fix the problem. Youre just shit out of luck.
You are in LA. When he says distance, I think he means GREAT distance. probably 500 miles or more. I can't really see anything under one ore two hundred miles being affected.
You need to be not so fast to shoot down ideas, and think about the possibilities and details and ways it would be implemented.

Amd the big players near me are all players I can't cap from anyways. Beside that's 20 miles at that

What if u could assign one of your turfs as your HQ. The farther away your other turf is from HQ the greater the penalty at that location. This way ppl in crappy areas wouldn't be locked in there but ppl would still be limited by distance.Jim Dirt (Add A1) wrote:

Exactly charlie. After you go out 4 or 5 hundred miles it starts to kick in. It would penalize me in new york but if I actually go there to visit...I can raise hell. Just like the real world. I'd like to know what the smaller players think of this. Obviously the big ones will hate it since it limits them...
-
Limits me tremendously. Would make this game farmville to me. I told Matt the same thing when he came up with this months ago
-
Oh and in your case charlie, yes it would limit you but it also works in reverse. When I come to hawaii to visit and I leave turf and can't take over your island from comfort of my easy chair here in calif...
Islands are hard to launch attacks from but they are easier to defend. Everything has it's advantages and disadvantages.

The HQ could bring in other tactical elements as well. Maybe a defensive bonus and special rewards for capping another players HQ (1 or 2 of their rare loot maybe). If a player's HQ gets taken maybe that player would get the full distance penalty on all turf until a new HQ can be established (for whatever time period that would take - ie. 1-7 days). This could bring in a huge tactical element to wars. Also there would be a range of how far from your gps location u could set your HQ. 100-250 miles should be good enough to allow ppl in unpopulated areas to set up in cities but still restrict ppl from being able to invade far off states/countries as easily.

in short, if I want to take over another state, i should have to move there. (or at least grow so large that they can't resist me no matter what.) That's how a gps game should work.

Diplomacy is only a small part of war. You should be able to play every aspect of this game between friends with no hard feelings.

How much turf do you actually have that's 500 miles out?

Exactly. And it IS a gps based game built on the premise of taking over and controlling locally. Belial and I have had this discussion already.
You should be at you're greatest strengths at home, or where you physically are. The further you wander, the more vulnerable you become.
-
Charlie, should we put this suggestion in it's own thread so it gets seen? Its kinda off topic in here...

I don't think you need an HQ. Where you go becomes HQ.

He didn't actuly take over a state, but you would hard pressed to remove him from Los Angeles.
-
Wait. I think cupcake lives in LA. Maybe bad example. But he's definitely a threat for a LD takeover.
-
He looks over turfed and under gunned to me. If I was down there, I could take him. Why doesn't belial cap him? Theres a hugh amount of turf right in his backyard...

Jim Dirt (Add A1) wrote:
There should still be ways of controlling for that. Something like at least 50% of your gps locations for the previous week or 2 have to be within 250 miles of where u want to place your HQ. Once set up, if a month or so goes by where your gps location is outside the 250 mile range for 50% of the time then it become ineligible as a HQ and must be reassigned. That way u have to actually live in the area you want to control.Ⴢʋɳ☠Ƭƶʋ wrote:
