Topic number 3....
Beer. What are the do's and don'ts of beer drinking. Are there drinks as men you do no drink? Is it okay or not okay to put a fruit of any kind in your drink (limes lemons)???? Share your opinions!!!!

a lime wedge in a mexican beer is ok
mixing anything in your hard liquor is a little suspect in my mind...except maybe a couple ice cubes.

As a self-proclaimed Beer Geek, here are some thoughts:
Dont's:
1. Hard cider is not beer!
2. If a beer needs fruit to make it taste better, it's probably not worth the time.
3. Never bring a watered down, yellow fizzy beer to a party hosted by a beer geek.
4. Don't go into a craft beer bar & order a mass-produced beer such as Coors, Bud or Miller; people like me make fun of people like that.Do's:
1. Always try something new.
2. Beer fests & brewery visits are great ways to expand your knowledge & appreciation of beer. -

•Beer should never allowed to become warm. If it is, u aren't drinking fast enough so STEP it up! Sorry my UK friends, but Ales SHOULD be cold.
•Lite beer is no beer at all.
•Fruity drinks (wine excluded) should NEVER be had in the company of an all men table.

Dont's:
5. When pouring a beer, don't try & sneak it down the side of the glass...a little head is good (you want this) cause it releases aromas & flavors in the beer.6. Pouring beer into a frozen glass is actually bad for the beer; sure it's ultra refreshing but it affects the taste & aroma of the beer & can even slushify the beer.
7. Never drink a beer if it comes in a clear bottle...clear bottles allow UV light to come into contact with the beer which is VERY, VERY BAD for the beer.
Do's:
3. Pouring beer into a refridgerated (not frozen) glass is actually acceptable & encouraged on a hot day. -

I know a couple of brewers out here, I've met dozens of others, I have a couple of friends who are serious home brewers & I'm all over the beer bar scene out here.
I have another friend that started a company called Tap Hunter which provides details of what's currently on tap around town. They have a website & an iPhone app. Tap Hunter is only a year old, so there's only coverage in Southern California & Seattle.

I don't drink beer.

Depending on the type o beer depends on the temp it should be served.
If it's pale then serve I cold (so you can't taste how shit it is)
if it's dark then at about room temp.
If it's an English style then about 13 degrees

I would much rather quantity of beer over quality of beer. The more I drink the less I am concerned about the taste, temperature and the addition of fruit....this could well be the larger lout in me coming out! Lol

quality vs quantity....Full heavy body or light...40 or 104 degrees outside?
these are all variables that one must take into consideration.
If its 104 out and I have just finished mowing the lawn, I will pull an ice cold miller out of my beer fridge out in the garage....it will NOT be a 6 dollar craft beer from Washington State
