Oh yes, then there's the Qin dynasty, the Ottoman Empire, The Persian Empire, the Assyrian Empire... Tyranny has initial power, but it is power that never lasts. Equality is all the people will be happy with, and I still think the ideal thing would be the dulled down demo-socialism discussed on the first page.

There is definatly corruption in washington, no doubt. But our system is still better than 90% of the worlds governments. Then there is congress. It was a good idea at first, but now it is very corrupt. A congress, requires a majority vote for everything, so ot takes forever for anything decisive to get done. Then there is all the money involved. A lobbyist can get whatever they want, so long as they have money and no sense of rpide or patriotism.

Hey I went to bed, people have to sleep you know! 😉😄Very well said. If you (chester-drawers) cannot provide us with an instance of Socialism having a majorly negative internal impact on the country, your argument must be regarded as opinion. Of the Presidents you listed, one is regarded as one of our country's greatest leaders, one was president in a time when he could have been taken out by the CIA for even a hint of Socialism, and the one Socialist move of the third has had no chance in the world yet.

WELL the Roman Empire lasted more than two thousand years, we cant even hold our nation in 400 years without global criminals creeping in. And the system of "equality" isn't equal. While the elite want you to be the same, they take in the power of opinon and establishment. China has lasted because of our influence of capitalism upon their nation... So why in the heck are we allowing huge banks take over our government? It's already been done.Oh yes, then there's the Qin dynasty, the Ottoman Empire, The Persian Empire, the Assyrian Empire... That's the root of the problem, that"equality" isn't true equality, no matter what you anyone may think.

Communism the way it was intended can only exist on a very small level (hippy communes and the like). Where everyone involved is like minded and willing to strive for a common goal. On a large scale it is bound to fail....it just won't work. I personally want my doctors to make a lot more money than the person greeting me at Walmart. We need competition in order to strive. There would be no evolution. Where is the incentive for greatness?
-
I've seen a lot of posts from Communist supporters talking about how Communism is not a dictatorship and what not. That doesn't make sense to me. That's like saying that I'm a huge fan of the NFL, because they have naked cheerleaders. The NFL obviously doesn't, but the guy who invented American Football wanted there to be.
How is it incorrect to associate Communist government with dictatorship when it hasn't been anything but?
-
In The Communist Manifesto, a blueprint for an ideal government was laid. No where does it talk about dictatorship. Stalin was the one who introduced dictatorship into the mix, he's the one who poisoned and destroyed something that could have been great. That is called Stalinism, or Totalitarian state, NOT Commuism, tjough it is often wrongly labeled as such.
-
I completely understand your point. I'm just saying that I don't think it's necessarily wrong to judge something for what it is, rather than what you think it should be.
-
Yea, id say Stalin was a typical, yet extreme case of communist leadership, killing 20 million of his own people, it was called communism at the time altho it changed to whatever suited his interests to keep power. Forced labour. Death camps. Oppression. Its always the end result. 👎

Well i dont like to be controled, why cant we just live free and have fun in this world. I mean comon goverment has been around for a long time and i find it kinda stupid that if you have to go somewhere you have to have a passport. this world belongs to us not the goverment
-
If all countries in the world got rid of government, can you imagine the consequences? Every terrorist in the world would see it as their chance, crime would run rampant because there would be no federal consequneces.
-
@eshido A few questions. How old are you? Have you experienced public education in the past 10 years?
The department of energy has actually added to your gas bill(my family owns a medium sized oil company).

Communism, in my opinion, was at heart a good idea that was implemented in a horrible way. Instead of the government having enough control to keep everything stable, they had total control, which led to too much power handed out to not enough people. It corrupted those who had it, and they became tyranic, and doomed the idea of communism. In the places it exists today, it hasn't changed and still leads to frustration and destability. The reason most people think communism is horrible is because the idea was lost in the practice, and that terrible implimentation of it is all people have to go on now. Communism itself has become irreversably tarnished as an idea, and while an equivalent that is beneficial may one day arise, communism is dead. There was just too much power.

we fought off Britain to be free and u want to be communist 😒What are your views on this? Amercans are raised taught that it is the worst thing you could believe in. By definition you can never be free in a communist or socialist environment. Thus if you believe we should all be slaves then it is okay. If you believe that no children will be allowed to be raised in a communist environment and that they have a choice then that is fine. Basically just think about it this way - if you do something to better your life you've violated the laws of communism and thus must forfeit whatever it was that you did. For example you get tired on sitting on the dirt in your hut and go out to the forest to get some wood and build a floor...because you have proven yourself able to build floors you have to build them for those that are not capable in the village.

Try socialismExactly, Gadget. Communism is too extreme, so a moderation with the inclusion of certain Democratic principles would make it a far more bearable, and popular system. For example, say we take the US constituition, and merge it's principles of government as qritten in articles 1-3, and combine it with Commumism's principles of total equality. There is a basis for a whole new governmental philosophy.

Perfect communism is the ideal government. Unfortunatly, the leader (eg stalin) gets all the benifits while the rest suffer.
