Well idk enough about healthcare to argue about that but by taxing the rich it means they dont have as much money which means they don't have the money to start their own companies and businesses to make jobs. And sure thousands of jobs may be saved but that also means that people need to pay for this bailout or the government gets more debt. Money just doesn't come out of thin air. We borrow it from the federal reserve

Steven Colbert for president! We can make it happen.

What's the democrat party? The only one I know of is the democratic party. It's hard to take you seriously when you can't correctly name the oldest and largest political party in the United States. 😝Social construct is not the same as socialism.
Class struggle is brought to issue for the purpose of power grabs. It's important to realize who is pitting class against class and why. It is Goldstein's book in 1984 that defines well the purpose of class struggle.
The people that want power divide us against ourselves in a way that the most populated group is behind them. They then use this group to steal power from the "1%", inserting themselves in the vacuum. The social order remains. The middle and lower "classes" are suckered into implementing this power shift, which is invariably a lie. The democrat party is the biggest offender. The republicans are also guilty, but less so.

Suckers.

Just look at our military. Perfect example. There's a huge difference in selective socialism and communism.
And I have to say that I'm glad my friend or my mom can now go to the doctor without insurance and find out they have cancer. Go home and apply for insurance And actually get it due to Obamacare. Thank God someone in this country isn't only concerned with himself.

It's not about 'isms'. The common denominator is how to force "the greater good" on people that refuse to cooperate. I don't want to push a plow. I want to follow my own path.
Socialism and communism are bad for that reason alone.
Your intent might be good. The results are disasterous.

Give me a break. You know me better than that. -
Look, it's very simple.
Every socialist project in the US is a necessary evil.
Every single project is coerced confiscation of property.
Is it necessary? Yes.
But every single time, it robs the people of personal freedom, choice, privacy, and property.
Income tax is an abomination.
The best way to confiscate property from us, is to tax consumption, like we used to before 1911. Then at least you have some tiny say in your tax payments. You maintain privacy, and choice, and freedom, while you lose your property.
The economy suffers just the same... Don't worry. But we as individuals will be better off.

Federal Government's Job List.
1. Raise funds to operate.
2. Fill Offices
3. Maintain a standing army.
4. Settle disputes among states.
5. International Diplomacy.
6. Enforce our borders. If we want to splash out a bit:
6. Establish a national currency.
7. Enforce federal law. (of which there should be very few)As for social programs... I've got news for you. The interstate highway system and the Internet are military projects. Everything else is state and local government, really.
-
Government should stay as local as possible. You should know your leaders, and more importantly, they should know you.
Shrink that bloated, oppressive, central planning committee you power hungry bastages.

Socialism is a bridge to communism. It was designed as such. Since communism can't work on a large scale, there's your bridge to nowhere right there.

The military is not socialist? Well, what would you call an organization that provides for it's member's every need regardless of their means and has strict limits on pay disparity between the top general and the lowliest grunt? Also, would you try to pin the worst crimes committed under a capitalist system on all modern capitalists, as you have with "Marxism" as if it remotely resembles modern Democratic Socialism as practiced in say, Germany? By your rational, capitalism has killed several million tobacco users in the past ten years. Time to abandon it? Obviously any philosophy taken to a utopian extreme is dangerous, I think everyone agrees with that. For examples of free market capitalist utopias, look at Somalia or Liberia. Should US free market capitalism be painted with that same brush. The fact is our politicians are arguing at the margins, not the extremes. The goal is to strike a reasonable balance between capitalism and socialism while weighing the costs and benefits of each.

Addi.. Ohhhhhhh you meant internal military structure. So you want more of a military structure to our society.
You want to wear a uniform, do exactly as your told or go to the brig to face judgement. You are US Government property when you sign up. I didn't know that's what you wanted.
The difference is SOCIALISM is an ECONOMIC STRUCTURE. The military is not. It is funded 100% externally.
As for democrat being a pejorative, what's your point?
-
This is not a free market system, I know. But how much control is too much?
When the economy tanks, it's possible that the strain of artificial wage controls, extreme regulation, over taxation, and a very, VERY expensive federal government that we all have to pay for is helping the collapse.
We can't afford our government. So it borrows. It borrows so much, we can never pay it back and our currency is at risk.
What's your answer? INCREASE the load on business and "the rich".
How about we get government down to where it's supposed to be and start there.
-
And to compare people being shot in the head for speaking out against government to a bloated death toll of voluntary smokers... Sick.

This is getting out of hand. Why don't we try to focus on the real joy of Christmas and let these political threads wait a bit.
