Any programmers?

If any of you know how to TEXT PROGRAM, then post programming experience, I want to see how big this gets. I know python, C, and most of objective C. I have made everything from simple, tic-tac-toe, to a text adventure game reminiscent of Zork.

I do it mainly a's a pastime.

What?

Im working towards becoming a games designer in the future...text adventures are easy I made one of those years ago, the hardest part is to remember where you was going lol

I suppose it does, however I feel that far too many people want to become programmers, but end up disappointed because it's too hard. I do some programming. Whenever I play COD or any other FPS game, I feel stupid because I cannot grasp simply how they would do that.I was hoping to become one . That count for anything?
I mean, one normal COD sprite will have given about 100 different costumes. The skills needed to create such graphics like these have to be incorporated with programming skills. Every movement and sprite requires at least 3 lines of script. It's amazing how complicated it gets.

I'll hold off posting until someone else mentions any of Basic AS400s Pascal or ticker tape n punch cards..... (ask yer Dad)

If it kept you in work over the Y2K panic, then I guess it's a big yes, otherwise maybe not

I program Java
-
I remember Pascal... Fondly even.
I still like text adventures, which is obvious to all who know my invite code, so I still work on MUDs from time to time.
My job forces me to stay current in many programming, scripting, and machine languages -- frankly more than I can (or wish to) recall. Been doing Objective-C since there were NeXT computers around...
I managed to just barely avoid punched cards, but I have had to program systems with magnetic core memory! (which was teh suck)
If you already worked on a text adventure, do some MUD coding! ;)
Cheers!

Basic, pascal, c, perl, javascript, coldfusion, php, ruby on rails and shell scripting

Done.

I'll never forget those days where me n Chas Babbage used to play with valves and chat about whether this binary generator would ever be useful for anything. Later I had similar chats with my ole pal Jon "yogi" Baird. Never knew what happened to him ....
-
Valves... Always preferred that over "tubes".
-
Sand lines and pebbles always seemed more reliable than bamboo and wooden beads.

My dad programed lotus notes.
